More Terrence Howard on Joe Rogan Insanity

Terrence Howard's appearance on Joe Rogan caused quite a stir. Most people could tell immediately that he's a total lunatic spewing hot gibberish, but a shocking number of people were duped into thinking he's a genius. Joe wanted to get to the bottom of it all, so he decided to bring Terry back with someone more educated to do some fact checking. Disappointingly, he chose Eric Weinstein to do this, a pseudo-intellectual fraud who was only there to flex his intellect while simultaneously pretending Terry is on to something in order to scoop up some Terry fans for himself. While not exactly what needed to happen, it did result in some hilarious moments, so let's poke through for some highlights.

How is that hard to figure out? _"True intervention is not calling someone an "idiot" or a "dipshit". How much longer of being polite does Terry need before you finally admit maybe he needs some harsh messages that require some harsh words? Or would you prefer to let him wallow around without medication just because you might have to wash your mouth out with soap over dirty words? Terry needs someone to tell him he's not a genius and the world isn't out to silence him, instead he's getting more and more people praising his way of thinking and confirmation that science if full of corruption and evil people. Eric even made that moronic claim about Rogan being the place for science over peer review and universities. It's a real catch-22 though with that argument. How many absolutely terrible ideas have gone on to fester and be taken seriously by not just a large number, but indeed a majority of people? Not long ago, we were laughing at the idea of a US president being elected while on trial for multiple criminal accusations, let alone one being allowed to assassinate their political opponent in an upcoming election. Now both are part of our reality, and people are even defending it. Perhaps we should have taken this debate a bit more seriously? Platforming flat earth-level nonsense as if it were a scientific debate is not wise, as it give the public there is some degree of merit to both. But once it's been made clear this is simply a YT debate for entertainment and not held to the standards of scientific scrutiny, you have to let the fringe make their case. Silencing them only makes you look suspicious, regardless of how absurd their position is.

Gibbons are better overall animals than Terrence and Rogan are because they just live. They know their roles in their family and they are clever as hell. They do not attack only when confronted with one. Rogan and Terrence should never be allowed to speak ever in any public platform. It’s dumb comment after another with sone unintellectual discovery (that didn’t happen because Terrence doesn’t understand why the scientific method must be used when a new theory is put forth by anyone. Science at its fundamental level begins with the scientific method to check out very clearly if it is something to further consider or if it should be thrown out. Science is cut throat. It’s unforgiving. Yet it must be because it weeds out the nonsense (Terrence and Rogan who knows martial arts. Yea what else dude? How to accurately speak like a dumbass!??? I make people scream to stop within 5 seconds in. I don’t lose in Jiujitsu. Possibly I would to Rogan but we are about the same build and height. I’ve fought a lot using solely Jiujitsu. I would at least get in the ring and see. Practicing Jiujitsu this many years and staying in tip top shape by practicing/fighting/ sparring whatever gives me a level of what I can do and what I cant. Rogan knows sone Jiujitsu, but I wonder how much because Joe, I hope you don’t mind me saying this but you’re looking a little heavy as of late…. Not practicing or sparring these days???

As a graduate mathematics students, Terry's math really breaks me a little. He truly has no idea how mathematics works, at all. Mathematicians do not care whether 1×1 equals 1 or 2. We care about the consequence. If you can define the numbers and an operation such that 1×1=2, and it creates interesting consequences, there will be some mathematicians studying it. Yes its true that mathematicians "give" the "identity principle" to 1. Why? Because we need a symbol for the multiplicative identity. We need a symbol to talk about things. If you don't like that you may very well say that the identity is e, π, 2 or anything. The symbol literally doesn't matter. So why no one in "academia" entertains his equation 1×1=2? Because he didn't define shit that makes it study-able.

The frequency of the E above middle C is about 329.628 Hz. The closest "E" to 43Hz is 1/8 of that original value; about 41.207 Hz. What am I supposed to think when Terry talks about 43 Hz? How does that relate to the visible spectrum of light which involves frequencies greater than 10^14 (100 trillion) Hz? Only frequencies near the visible spectrum are used in spectrometry. I am not sure his supporters understand how made up some of this stuff turns out to be. Assuming that Terrence were correct when a conventional scientist says that he does not understand how Terrence is using the terms tone and frequency, that is not a failure on that scientist's part. His terms do not make sense using conventional definitions. And that is as kind as I can be.

  • @Bob-of-Zoid

What he said isn't at all related to whole keys and the notes in that key, making your statement irrelevant. He claimed that "The note E is 43Hz", but with E1 at 41.2Hz and F1 at 43.65Hz, Terrence's 43Hz is either a very sharp E, and sounds spine chillingly awful, or a slightly flat F (not as offensive). It's most certainly not an E, and I bet he doesn't even know there are more than one E and at octaves apart which is related to keys, but there are 12 notes in an octave 7 whole notes and 5 sharps or flats; a going up or down the scale thing, down written as flat (b), and up as sharp (#), so a C# can also be expressed as Db, Gb as D#. For reference: The lowest musical note is C0 at 16.35Hz, which is lower than the average hearing range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz, but if you can't hear it, you will feel it. E0 is at 20.6Hz. They are enabling a platform (Rogan's podcast) that will invite anybody on the show to boost viewership and engagement and will not sufficiently challenge the claims of the guest if that will also boost engagement. Either that or Rogan is just ignorant of many of the subjects brought to his show by guests and thinks "just discussing the issues" is all he really needs to bother about. He almost studiously keeps himself unaware of whether the issues have been sufficiently discussed already by people who know a lot more than he does.

@@DrunkenHotei That's a really accurate term for Terrence's situation: "The phrase 'not even wrong' describes any argument that purports to be scientific but fails at some fundamental level, usually in that it contains a terminal logical fallacy or it cannot be falsified by experiment, or cannot be used to make predictions about the natural world. The phrase implies that not only is someone making an invalid point in a discussion, but also that they don't understand the nature of the discussion itself, or the things that need to be understood in order to participate".

I still remember how Eric said “he never made contact with the physical world” to basically state that Witten never really received any major scientific prize or title. I mean… I couldn’t choose a more complex, pretentious and pompous way to state such a simple and mondane concept. The astonishing part is that Eric is regarded by many (given his popularity in podcasting) to be a good communicator. How is this a good communicator? He basically tries to constantly sound profound explaining even the most basic concepts and goes off into absurdly convoluted tangents every two sentences.
