MORE Mechanics YOU Need to Speedrun Celeste (WR Pace: Any% Tutorial)

Ойындар

Take this guide moreso as strats and tech you should consider for breaking into the next threshold rather than the strats "required" to do so. What’s "required" is hard to quantify, but I believe that this guide helps prepare runners to make giant leaps from threshold to threshold and streamlines the kind of info to prioritize.
I wanna cry. This was an INSANE video to edit (literally, my PC couldn't handle it at times lol).
Let's blast through 10k and get all the way to 100k this year. I've got a ton of fun content I'm really excited to show all of you... and hopefully they won't requires 100s of hours to finish!
You've got this. Keep me updated on your progress in the comments or in my discord! (Better chance I'll see it in my discord)

Amazing. I can't believe how much work you're putting into these. Even just collecting and refining all the strats for all these thresholds is a lot, the editing is great, they're legitimately funny, but on top of that you've got a whole pedagogical approach that we can see unfolding over this series you started more than 2 years ago and it still feels like the same planned progression you set out to create. I've done a little teaching work, enough to know that writing any kind of learning materials that are actually effective is really (really) hard, writing new materials and making them feel consistent with exisitng ones is even harder, and getting them right on the first iteration seems close to impossible, and you're here putting out a whole curriculum, one by one, that somehow already feels polished. I think it's also so valuable how much attention you give to things like how to practice effectively, how to decide what's worth putting time into and in general just how to manage your damn emotions so you can practice well and then do the thing you practiced. That's where the magic is in teaching, and as I get closer to the 30 threshold I see those becoming the primary obstacles (or tools) for getting better, more than learning this or that strat. Looking forward to what you put out next.

I’ve read this comment multiple times in the last week trying to figure out how to accurately give my thanks to such praise in just a KZread comment. Genuinely, this is so impactful and means a lot to me. My whole goal with this series has been to deliver information in a digestible way for a game I really love. So seeing a comment like this really makes my whole world. Thank you so much. This kind of support is invaluable and gives me a ton of motivation to keep producing more content like this. You’ll smash that sub 30 barrier, I know it. Thank you again for such a heartfelt comment, it’s made my whole week ❤️

Finally finished watching and I can say without a doubt this is the new best "git gud" speedrunning guide for Celeste. These series do a fantastic job in progressing from entry level to fully fledged speedrunner, and it does in only 4 videos (counting the mechanics one), while managing to be entertaining all the way through. And hey, it's not me saying this, it's all the people you have helped over these years rightfully praising you for it. Looking forward to the sub 30 guide, but for now, enjoy this success :)

I'm so glad I found this. I've been delaying a donation goal that was met during a caritative stream I was participating in, which is place in the top 100 any% runs. I wanted to push myself, but didn't know where to start, and where exactly to get the guides and setups I'd need to achieve that. Top 100 is currently sitting at basically sub 29, so that's still an insane time to beat and effort to be put in practice, but I feel a boost in motivation after seeing this very well put guide, knowing that there are still harder, but also faster strats out there to learn. Thank you for making these guides

Ahah sometimes there are signs in life : I started to speedrun Celeste a year ago, thanks to your first 3 videos on the subject (and some other videos reaally less clear than yours). Arriving at a pb of about 48min I stopped. But recently, I decided to get back to it after about 6 months of break, to reach the 40min mark. I checked and noticed like a week ago that your video on the subject was not released during my break, and now it comes out ! Naah this definitely can’t be a coincidence… 😌 Anyway, thank you so much for those videos, they are complete, crystal clear, and gave me motivation to go beyond my limits and improve ❤

Honestly, I'm having a hard time with this part 27:58 . I can't glide on the books after the wave dash, I always dash too late and end up in the void, almost every time. As if the delay to be able to redash after the wavedash was too long, and when I try to go too fast with my inputs I just fail my wavedash. Sometimes I manage to touch the book platform but really on the right edge, not once I managed to dash in the middle of the book platform like in the tutorial. I only managed to pass the room a few times, I know it's difficult but I feel like I'm missing something here 🤔 Anyway great video ! It was worth the wait, I passed the sub 50 thanks to your videos, I am now aiming for the sub 40 but I feel that it will take me a lot more time ahah 😄(sorry for my english)

This video made me realize that SM 64 could benefit from more buffer frames. Jumps and wall jumps seem to require frame perfect inputs😕

I am far away from getting sub40 or even sub50. I saw both videos prior to this and I would love if I could ever reach this point in my celeste speedrunning.
