More LOTUS hang at Lincoln Center!
In this video, Marcus Printup, Adam Rapa, and Todd Stoll continue their playtesting of different LOTUS products.
You’ll see exactly why we make our mouthpieces in brass, bronze & nickel silver. The material changes the character of a mouthpiece tremendously. Maybe with headphones, you can hear the distinction more, but the real experience is heard and felt live.
Adam often chooses different materials for the same mouthpiece depending on which Lotus trumpet model he's playing at any given time, since that relationship can bring next-level results.

96% the player and 4% equipment but having the right tools makes playing easier. I play on a Monette B2 and B3 and I prefer those two over pretty much everything. I used to play on Terry Warburton's mouthpieces 11 and 12 backbore with 2D and 3MC tops. When I can test these out, I will definitely do so.

so has Adam stopped working with Monette now? I am 100% convinced Lotus is just a way for Monette to get away from their negative stigma within the industry. Lots of people won't touch anything with the name "Monette" attached (which is a shame because I believe its revolutionary.) However, Adam has to have a producer that can expertly craft these mouthpieces, not just some willy-nilly shop with a lathe....so I saw it's gotta either be the new Blackburn company or the Monette still attached and renamed to get better sales.

Adam is no longer working with Monette. LOTUS and Monette has nothing to do with each other, there is no rebranding or even much of a similarity of how the trumpets and mouthpieces play. The gear that we make have been developed from scratched over countless hours of research and development, and is nothing like the products that Monette are offering. Dave is still owning Monette, and we own LOTUS. /Henrik Grahn, CEO LOTUS Trumpets
