Thank you, Dr. Sugrue. I hope you received the 20 dollars for your class. It did say so last night, and it was approved . Thank you again. I am happy to see your love of philosophy, history, and sciences, books, and literature live on in what you chose as a profession of worthy merit. Happy holidays to your family and friends. You hang in there, my dear professor.

Do you think that he doesn’t know where the cam is directed? He’s been in front of a camera for years. I actually think it’s quite cute that he’s barely in the screen. Like, hey, you need a booster seat or what Professor? And lastly, it’s about the message not the structuring of it so much. Does it vex you Tvexation? Get over it and yourself.

@@hoosierbaddy3052 Yes… I totally agree on that front.. But.. if you remember there was a G..to counteract that front! Who is to say that it is HIS way? No editing.. as HE sees it! Trust me there is no greater orator of what is being said… The holes I have picked could go on forever.. This is a man/ human that will never read from notes… In the worst of times.. well.. he is erudite and one of the greats in exposition! In the best of times.. well..emm.. he tries hard!! I hope you will understand my friend!

I swear it is so weird to learn about all this stuff… it feels like all these stories and synchronicities combined with my memories of my own life are in this sea of understanding that is roaring inside my consciousness like an ocean… And my relationship to that ocean is constantly changing with each new drop of knowledge… and I feel rocked. But I have this feeling of being a central character in all of these infinitely converging stories of people who are also central characters… It is like being two selves coming upon a vast wealth of knowledge and knowing that what one picks up one must also put down an amount of equal weight… so one self turns to the other self and says… “How much of yourself do you want to throw away to be able to carry this treasure?” And the self who is really am is tasked with the question… what of yourself exactly do you think is most important to keep?

Well we laugh my friend ( of course. with Greek left to the scholars..) Hippocrates/ Hypocrisy could be food for thought…But that’s where the story teller comes in…. Narrativium….

I tried to hook you in with the Ottoman Empire.. but wanted really to move you back in history.. I tried to extrapolate backwards..can we do this..? Is there a word for that..? However moving back gives us a reason to smile.. We have lost a wonderful author in Terry Pratchett.. he spun wonderful stories without the aid of history.. ( or rather without his readers knowing of a ‘history’ ) they are enjoyed in numerous countries..I have read a very serious book on the Byzantine Empire.. and I have to say Terry missed a lot of stories…..they are unmistakably humorous.. brutal but true..and now I understand Sugrue/Stalloff ..Unplugged!

Thank you very much Mike for your endeavour..I promise you I will go back to base with your recapitulation on your recap…It feels like this is the true standpoint..if only we could see..? We always strive to get the point over in different terms..like ok so how should I put this..? However if the recap is in the same words.. where do we go?

The "mechanical" account of epidemics, it's clear now, needs to be superseded by a Physics 3.0? 4.0? which treats epidemics as super-objects whose effects evidently can't be explained by Newtonian processes (some philosophers are saying)

Technology itself is can be described as a kind of mythology. According to Elul, the philosophical essence of technique is efficiency and predictability, but this is a lie. Technological innovations invariably have ramifications that are not predictable, and inherently inefficient. Technology as “efficiency and predictability” is constantly betraying its own philosophical charter. Or, in the words of Marcuse “We submit to the peaceful production of the means of destruction, to the perfection of waste, to being educated for a defense which deforms the defenders and that which they defend.”
