Thank you so much Susan! I’m glad that our channel is your design channel of choice. I try to share what I learned getting my college degree in interior design. We work hard to produce quality, useable content not just fluff or regurgitating what’s trending on social media. We cover many different design styles and don’t just push mine or belittle anyone for their style nor are we always just trying to sell you something. I’m so glad you are enjoying our videos. 🎃🎃🎃

Agree! Very talented! I'd like to see some exterior ideas. The house I purchased was built in 1966 and the people that lived there for 40 years enjoyed farmhouse. I prefer traditional with modern - I like ecletic and interesting styles like Garrett. The exterior of this porchfront colonial looks more like a barn since the siding is white and the shutters are a raspberry color (which I hate). I think the traditional black shutters with the white siding would make it look instantly less barn-like and more traditional. It's in an historic area with a lot of interesting homes and they are all unique. That's what drew me to it in the first place.

Loved this video (as usual). I am so tired of people with white, beige, and gray decor speaking with disdain about "grandma's house" style. It seems that they are being safe and don't really know what they like. Give me color and traditional furniture any day! Your sideboard is gorgeous!

Some of the finest homes in the world and some of the wealthiest people in the world have fine woods and color infused in their home. Some of these “designers” just see things on social media that are posted and they automatically think that’s what the in crowd has because they probably don’t know better. Enjoy your fine woods and infused color with your style. If a home is to much like a loaf bread in color it reminds me of model homes in moderately priced housing tracts. How is that high design? 😀😀😀

Is is pretty easy to ease off Boho without erasing it entirely from a space. It can lean more eclectic if you combine other styles. I love boho combined with organic modern and modern and vintage farmhouse styles, or even MCM. Adding neutrals and solid colors in place of some of the patterns can make a big difference just like removing a little texture. I couldn't do the pale or all neutral boho, personally. I love the Moroccan color schemes even in rooms that are not really boho. Edit: Just realized I actually have a very grand millennial leaning style. LMAO.

The buffet is extraordinary, Garrett. Cottage style gets dismissed as dated, however depending where in the world you live, it can take on many architectural and cultural aesthetics which is versatile and deserves its place as one of the easiest decor styles to edit. Hacienda, Territorial (Santa Fe), Western and Ranchero are styles that get lumped as one of the same which is a shame because their ethic origins vary from European, Middle Eastern, Native Nations, and Mexican influences. Even though there are commonalities in design and decorative pieces that are curated, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and parts of Nevada bring their own unique regional flair. But tossing a couple of multi-colored blankets over the couch, potting a succulent and hanging a bull skull over your fireplace will not a casa make, so neglecting or not updating these styles can borderline on cartoonish or may favor your favorite Mexican restaurant chain .

I hear you saying some of the same things my best professors said all those years ago. Like choosing color by pulling out the colors of your print in correct percentages. If someone listens to you, their design will be classic, based on timeless principles. It's such a refreshing outlook on design.

Just like fashion, wait long enough and styles reappear. Thank you. I never could embrace phony farm house. My furniture is too costly to replace for every trend. My philosophy has been to buy quality timeless pieces that last generations. Your sideboard is a perfect example. It is a show stopper! And happy day for vibrant color to return. I think with home confinement people finally realized how colorless and cookie cutter their homes actually are! Please stop buying junk from those trendy stores that will end up in a landfill. Save our environment.

🌟Your credenza is absolutely gorgeous! I agree, a classic piece that is heirloom quality is definitely money well spent. It’s with you for life, ( and beyond for someone else 😂). Money well spent. I chose the Florence Knoll 2 position in ebony and marble. Designed in 1954, yet looks ultra modern today. These truly are investment pieces, because generally, the price goes up yearly, not that we’re ever selling them! I think a lot of people just buy Home Goods low quality and trendy” spend more because they do it every five years , which adds up over time. For anyone on a tighter budget, (I remember those days! ) , it’s always exciting to hunt and find a high quality piece for a song at a yard sale or estate sale. I still have many of those as well. Everyone loves a true bargain! My favorite of those was a Ed Wormley for Dunbar sofa, cream color, in excellent condition for $150. at a moving sale in Nashville’s most expensive neighborhood. They just didn’t want to move it! With patience, persistence, and professional advice as you always give, any budget can look a million bucks! 😎

Congratulations on your new console table, Garrett. It's beautiful! Investing in quality items is definitely wise; not only do you live well, but you do so more economically than if you were to buy cheap, low-quality, "just for now" pieces and replace them three times a decade. (I've inherited an entire Gibbard bedroom set from my parents. It still looks as good as the day they bought it, more than four decades ago. It's such a shame we lost Gibbard; their pieces were built to last.) Your advice to pick your beach inspo is brilliant, by the way. Hell, who am I kidding? All your advice is pretty damned brilliant. And entertaining. Even when it doesn't apply to me, I watch for the wit that comes with it.
