I have modified my 997.2S centre muffler to a xpipe, later on bypassed the side mufflers, and later on added catless headers....and after all this and watching many videos on youtube I consider yours the best set up of a 997.2. Congratulations !!!

@877Media6 Got to agree- just sputtering and sounds like its just going to die- but go past the 4k mark and the car turns to a beast.

Wow this sounds really good! My biggest gripe with my 997.2S is the sound.. or lack therof

Thanks! 9A1 really comes alive with the current setup. Id recommend the side muffler delete for anyone looking for more volume- may not be suited for daily use however

Great setup! How’re drone levels? Also, would be awesome if you can post a video of the sound inside the cabin.

Thanks! Id say there’s less of the lower frequency “bassy” drone compared than the Fister + SW setup, but with louder volume if that makes sense.

Next mods, GT3 Intake Manifold and Throttle body.

Thanks for the suggestion! Looked into it and seems the TB is the same between gt3 and .2, I’ve got my hands on the IPD plenum which should add a bit more induction note

Hey man, excellent sound clip of the exhaust- i have 997.2 C4 and actively looking to get best combo and get amazing sound and avoid thin can sound in high revs and your setup seems to achieve what i am looking for. I see you are in NJ - i am in NY 2.5h away so I am curious where did you get it fitted. did you source parts yourself or was that also done by the shop if of course you did it in the shop and not yourself?

I fitted the exhaust myself in my garage - fairly straightforward install, despite few rusty studs / bolts!

@@MrJaehankim thank you for reply! I am tech savvy but not yet mechanic savvy and that being said I am also lacking bunch of tools thus making it fairly complex if this is my first DIY Porsche project :)

@@Vptkvc ah I feel you on that. Time to start gathering some tools :) Start off with some jack stands, socket set, wrench set... Trust me the tool cost will pay off once you start calculating how much shops charge

​@@MrJaehankim Oh I do trust you it will pay off for sure and I am not bluntly accepting to I will have done everything in the shop either. I will always weigh out my options. But it seems there's a reason I see/hear most people do exhaust themselves. Thanks for the tip, very helpful since I didn't even start exploring tools that I might need so what you have suggested doesn't seem to be a bad or expensive starting point, even before getting the exhaust :)

Does it drone at highway speeds? Can you comfortably take road trips or would you recommend against the FVD muffler setup?

I’d be lying if I said there’s no drone. There is *some* low-end drone, but not enough to cause headaches. Maybe it’s tolerable for like two hours max. Also consider that this is coming from someone who put back the interior on the said “track car” because I couldnt deal with the interior noise :) Mind you the car currently has Tubi + sharkwerks and Im considering going back to this setup.

What’s your wheel setup, rim, tire? I love it and I have a 997.1 cabriolet

They are BBS CHRs on Michelin PS4S, spacers in front and back 19x8.5 ET51 F - 5mm spacer 19x11 ET56 R - 7mm spacer

Do yo I like this setup better then the Fisters? Louder or just different

Defintely louder. Fisters + SW sounds a bit more "hollow" and the lower end frequencies sound... muffled, whereas FVD street sport w/o side mufflers liven up the sound significantly. For daily use, Fister + SW is definitely more suitable (or any other valved setup)

Fine car, but can't get to lane properly, you don't merge into a lane like that!! Learn to drive first!
