​@@skychieftain It's not bias, in this movie, she used her second noble phantasm - Buddha of sandalwood, which increased her defense by a ridiculous amount. That's why she survived Clarent.

@@higonakamura1236 I'm taking about the first one where she gets engulfed but doesn't die. Besides the sandalwood thing and Buddha palm are two different NPs which don't bring forth a flower. And it destroys her saint graph thereby killing her immediately.

I’m pretty sure most of this fight is original to this movie. We didn’t even get a Sanzang Vs Mordred 1v1 in game.

Canon is xanzang was the one who broke gates using her noble phantasm and we fight modred until her power goes berserk and die. Also her np is punching the shit out. They changed total scene but ok it's good.

You're partly correct. Sanzang has a second Noble Phantasm. Vyakarana: The Sandalwood Merit. This was her using both her Noble Phantasms in tandem to halt Mordreds attack

I mean the point of breaking the gates was that only a good natured act of compassion with no evil intent could scratch them. The point was her NP is used to save both lives and souls so I think for a more condensed version of that this works even if it's less flashy. Also lap pillow scene makes it worth it.
