also you cant feint if your in a riposte war, if they stop the riposte war you can usually back up and tell if they are gonna feint or not

when someone is feinting a lot the answer isn't to stop blocking but to start chambering. Since the first dude's swings were all horizontal it wouldn't have been too difficult either

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! 😂 Cool to see you trying out new things, I also caught you typing in chat on Frontlines last Thursday haha! I would say in Gold the main form of offense is off of feints, so you have to deal with that with either chambers/kicks/hard reads - you can probably beat most of these guys imo from what I've seen in your vids! Platinum is where the real toxic cheese starts so be prepared if you keep playing ranked haha. Frontlines is definitely more fun, but I think a little ranked helps you become a better player which translates nicely into Frontlines. One tip I would give is when your opponent is backing up or pulls out a small weapon, it's usually because they are low on stamina so you should press the attack (if you have enough stamina) and disarm them. 👍

Lots of people hide their rank on purpose so you can't see what level they are. Rank = level, is what I meant.

@@EpicBrew That's understandable, but when you mention it in the video it was because the person didn't have a duel rank (not because they are hiding it) , no matter what your preference is set to your *level* isn't showcased in Ranked duels, only your Ranked *Rank*

@@EpicBrew well that's a more recent update to ranked (the health regen I mean) as of them adding 3v3 ranked u used to be able to. And personally i lose my rank a lot because in diamond 2 to 3 it takes me an hour+ to find a match if i can even find one. And that's at peak player time for me it sucks (us central/east)

Very good run for a first time in the ring lol, I see the Golds are still trying to act like Diamonds.. At least Plats learn to feint during the spasms Lol, GL on your ranked grind man

After watching this I might give ranked another go. I used it to practice when I first got the game since people told me to 1v1 in order to get better and I didn't know duel servers existed, and I was mostly silver and briefly hit the first rank of Gold once. I am *definitely* better now than I was then, mostly thanks to watching people like you, LaraBTW and some other random videos I stumbled across and trying to adopt the more calm playstyle you all seem to have. I never did the spinning or cheesy tricks, but I used to panic in fights, and now I rarely do so I win a lot of battles. I reckon I can get Gold or even Platinum if I want to, and I've held my own against someone who had the Diamond rank instead of their level in Frontlines once so I might even make it there.

I've played on & off since release, Mordhau is really one of my fav online games of all times. But, also the only game I haven't even touched ranked in. Idk why even, just a hunch.

The feints get me. Everytime.

At the moment, Mordhau’s is more reliable so that’s the answer by default.

You accel a lot and only seem to stab or horizontal swing, I would use overhead into stab morph and throw in drags to throw your opponent off of their defence seeing as you don't use feint much anyway

I guess the best response to the feints is feinting yourself, before the enemy, but i suck at this game so what do i know anyways. But nice video Tom!

Haven't touched rank in probably close to a year, the amount of people that smurf on rank is nothing short of pathetic. Can't do it, people are terrible and this game brings a lot of em out.

It seems like you overthink too much while playing, in my opinion getting a couple offensive techniques into muscle memory and then just mixing them up you should do great.

@@EpicBrew Oh yeah I'm speaking from a videogame development point of view. its kinda counterintuitive and not engaging to view. or well, not as much as it could be otherwise. and yeah, you can knock someone out in plate armor if they receive enough punches. though admittedly no one's gonna survive at such a disadvantage, and no one's hands are gonna survive after a few punches either haha

@@Valdyr_Hrafn If people could move as fast backward as they could sprinting forward you'd be looking at people sprinting backward which would just look worse than someone spinning around to potentially dash out of range. It makes sense if you think about it.

This was hard to watch because of all the people that design fighting styles around feinting its really a shame that so many people can't learn how to utilize all the mechanics

Yeah, feiting is just the easiest to use/be effective with. That's why you see so many naked maul men. You get the movement speed and you just feint until you get a panic parry and you get an easy kill, or you just run up behind someone for an easier kill.

@@billboswagins6859 ? That enemies feints were horrendous and so easy to read lmao. Even a year ago when this vid was uploaded those feints would be so easy to read. Clearly you don't understand how to position yourself and make the best of your situation when someone is feinting.

That Verdict guy looks like he was fresh off of watching a youtube video on how to cheese your character's model animation and saw victory in his eyes. Too bad he's actually terrible at the game.

@@WerbleWerb I'm embarrassed at how bad I am for my level, that's why I hide it when playing Quick play xD I deffo wouldn't be at gold 2 after 800+ hours and level 176 though, that just seems like afk levelling or something
