I really wish we could put a little bit more on this pommel throwing so that we will laugh not only because its a M E M E but you could get a kill shot with it. In Skallagrim's video, he showed that it seemed to be the pommel are tied rather than screwed. You could use it as slinger probably. oh and also, Plez let us throw the crossbow just for meme sake.

cchdz I believe it was called "Rival Knights". There is a bit of grinding involved to keep yourself on par (it is one of few complaints but it honestly isn't that bad, you won't feel forced to pay as it is quick enough to get gold) but it is really detailed jousting. First phase you charge your horse- tapping at the right times to reach max speed- and then you ready and aim your lance right before you collide, where you have to try and aim the lance for the weak point in the opponent's armor. The knight with the fastest speed, most accurate hit (assuming they don't miss, that is always a fail but you'd have to do it on purpose), and best armor wins (2 out of 3). But you also have to balance it- fastest horses are harder to handle, but also carry less weight. Best armor give a guaranteed advantage but is heavy, best lances are harder to aim as they are heavy(and make it harder to aim), this way you can't just max out all 3 categories and be cheap.

War of the Roses also had it I think, but that game had a lot of issues which kinda prevented it from being the M&B successor it tried to be. I really wanted to like it but the combat and movement together were so fiddly. The combat was quite realistic, but the movement wasn't -- so for example it was almost impossible to hit anyone with the halberd because only hitting them with the axe head deals any damage, and people dance around like in M&B. It also has the big-time problem with backswinging and mid-swing adjustments that the dev mentions

No need to be so harsh :/ but I do agree, For Honor already marked what is it gonna be like, the way it'll follow rainbow six's microtransactions system, and so on. On the other side, Mordhau is giving us a great show of actual ingame combat and explaining mechanics, the developers clearly know what they are doing. In the case of For Honor all we had was a bunch of clips of "epic big ass fights" before relase, then turned out to be a 4v4 with worthless mobs in between.

2020 and the game is still populated heavily. I love this game but it totally needs a second installment. Mordhau 2 would be awesome as hell and even better. I need more mordhau and I hate that the game is slowly dying. I love this game. Please don't let it die.

Call Turn speed is technically capped in chivalry too. Either way, everyone I know is super hyped for Mordhau because believe it or not most of us don't like the broken animations in Chivalry either. Funny that you think competitive chiv players are only good because they backswing, shows how little you know. Especially considering some of the developers of mordhau are ex chiv pros

Looks so damn fluent, and there is nothing better than fluent pommel throwing.

Inverting the blade only really makes sense against an armored foe though. Still. I'm super stoked for this project. I love what you're doing.

omfg i asked for more content and you delivered in the best fucking way possible besieging castles and horseback all you need now is 50 v 50 servers and you got your self a true medieval game, but none the less i would donate to your kickstarter but im broke af literally only have 200$ i know i said your game is worth 20-45$ which is true it is (at its current state atleast) but i would buy it for 199$. this looks amazing and since you were decent chiv players i know you wanna make the best game possible i know what it feels like, and you're already 80% on your kickstarter with in the first 8 hours (honestly you coulda went a lil higher 80Gs doesnt sound like much for game development) this is gonna take the cake on all medieval Pvp games on the market by being smooth, skillfull and beautiful plus upgrades who doesnt love upgrades. i can tell you have the drive to finish and continue making this a really good game i just hope when you're making millions because you will you dont just say fuck it like most independent developing teams do and say its good enough because theres no such thing. i noticed you showed headchopping alot thanks for clearing that up :) love, shit.

3 things made this the most awesome thing ever and gave me the biggest medieval combat hard-ons ever, above the already awesome looking combat animations: 1. That lance charge was fucking awesome. 2. Switching into half-swording. 3. Ending that cowardly fool rightly.

Everyone so distracted by the pommel they forgot to make fun of the murder stroke on an unarmored opponent.. Looks amazing though! Stoked

Now we just need to be able to launch our pommels in catapaults. "Oh, you're running away? Let me put this pommel in the catapault."

At first I thought "Oh, so Chivalry Medieval Warfare 2" and wasn't that interested, but after seeing the actual gameplay, whilst the comparison is still a fair one, I'm looking at this game a lot more favourably. Cavalry combat looks badass and I like the idea of weapon throwing as well, presumably you can pick up enemy's weapons when they drop them? The look is awesome too. Not sure why the knight decided he needed to murder stroke against an unarmoured foe though; the entire reason for it was blunt force trauma to go through armour. And yes pommel throwing. Please make that an instant kill against a disarmed foe.

This is something that we tested, but in the end decided against it for gameplay reasons.

These guys just got every Skallagrim fan as a customer. Well done.
