pro of all pro tips if you time it right, you can kick someone while they drag. Its risky but a good way to regain initiative, plus you can combo after the kick too.

I would love to see how you are moving the mouse. I've been playing since launch and never got into the "trick" play aspect of melee. Maybe I don't have enough desktop space for some of this.

Honestly does anyone else feel they should link damage to how fast the swing is on impact? Slowly tapping the tip of your weapon against the enemy at the very last second shouldn't do full damage.

How come left side parry and right side parry look the same as the attacker, meaning the butt of the sword is in the top right

question, is it easier to map all these swings to keybinds? I currently play 240 and it's hard to flick the mouse in the direction i want for an attack in time for riposte

I honestly think that binds are way better for control of your swing. So I would say yes. And you dont bind all attacks to specific buttons. You only bind 3 attacks and leave the stab as a 240 attack. In combination with flip side attack you can attack from the left side aswell.

Good video. I'm on the morhau bus a little late while the game is rampant with swing manipulation gods and feint spammers. Although this video is good and very helpful it's hard to ignore that the combat in morhau looks janky as hell

Welcome to the mordhau community and enjoy the road :) It's sadly a common thing for newer players to mention the anims and feints. All I can say is give it time, dont rage and don't be toxic and everything will be fine :)

We're so lucky to get this for free.

For those who are trying to improve. Learn this first. Then BUILD around this. For example, you can fake an overhead accel looking to the ground, and instead do an overhead drag hitting toe. Also, the underhand accel is wrong. It is WAY better to look down instead of up. You will instant accel to the toes.

The side which you parry from has no effect on the speed of the swing. Every weapon has a set release window which you can see in the stats menu in mordhau. It only has a different look in the way your wrists (wristy twisty) turn or stay static (jpeg)

I got whooped yesterday. Haven't played in a while. I even ran into a few players trying too pull some chivalry spinning bullshit on me lol

yesterday i was playing in an asian duel server and these guys were doing like 360 hits that starts on one side but hits you on the other while it looks like they are spinning on a different side

It's them just parrying an attack from a direction and inputing a flipped lmb attack side. So the windup is basically in your face giving it the looks of a 360 swing. But 9/10 of those swings glances.

If you go to 0:10 in the vid and pause the video. You can see the binds. I switch my attack side with "flip attack side" almost at the bottom of the binds list. For me its left alt. You need to hold this button before an attack for it to be flipped.

@@user-wg1xd7wq2gThats the trick. You parry left side and you do an attack from the right side. This only possible with flipping attack side and looking at a specific angle. Try it out and you will see ;)

Ah yes. The war axe 30 min. drag with a swing of a toddler but a hit of a truck and the battle axe accel that hits before the windup

directional hits are useles because player can defend with only one click without doing anything. so you can hit where you want.

These swings are only reproduceable after a succesfull ripost (parrying and attacking right after in 150ms window). So yes after a parry!

IV half decent a fighter but watching this can see why everyone's doing the same shit fucking up the characters appearance when attacking making the fight harder to read to time my parry/chambers. Definitely been caught off guard by most of these styles of counters

The current DPI used and still being used is 800 and for sensitivity 0.32 on both x- and y-axis

@@DerGeist01 It comes down to personal preferences. Some people play with high DPI and are still able to drag & accel perfectly fine. The problem lies within the high learning curve of mordhau of actual understanding how swing manipulation works in the game. You just need to keep practicing and eventually you will get it right.

Furthermore, swing manipulation is also influenced by your footwork. Are you sprinting, are you walking, or are you standing still? It all has an impact on how your swing will presented.

If you use them for riposting, can the enemy still parry it normally? I've been hit by a riposte so fast that I couldn't parry it even after the parry recovery cooldown

Use the right strike bind for my left mouse button. If I want to attack from the left side I press left alt (flip attack side) in combination with the right strike making it a left strike. This is also known as playing with binds!

These mechanics are absolutely broken and are the sole reason Mordhau is close to dead. They are so gimmicky and exploitative that there is no real way to defend them unless you have raged at this game for so long that you have now become a victim of Stockholm syndrome. If you see anyone defending this cancerous gameplay it's definitely because they have over 500 hours in this game. I never see normal people defending or being interested in this.
