Stephen Santana - Hey John and Crew! It’s game day! I know you got a chance to see Morbius tonight and wanted to know y’all’s thoughts on it! My girlfriend and I saw and were disappointed, it’s always sad when you go into a movie really excited but it disappoints. But, as you say, all film is subjective and I wanna know your thoughts! The fact is Adrian shouldn't have been transported to morbius' universe. Doctor strange's spell makes those characters who know spiderman is Peter Parker FROM other universes forget the true identity and that causes them to RETURN to their respective universes. But... Adrian was from the same universe as doctor strange. He could FORGET Spiderman's true identity... But there's no reason he will be pulled OUT of his universe into morbius' universe. In a way that screws up continuity and possibilities. No way now will Adrian toomes be able to interact with Tom Holland's spiderman coz now they are physically in different universes.

I think they got a little cocky after the first venom and this is proof they're determined to build their universe at whatever cost. Now I don't have much faith in their other projects. Spoilers - for Adrian toomes to materialize into this universe, for viewers to be told by an offscreen narrator that he'll be released from prison, for morbius to receive a message and drive off to some remote location, for him to meet toomes in his vulture suit , for Adrian to comment that they should team up to 'do good..... All within a total screen time of about 5 minutes?.... Should have been a full movie in and of itself... With full fleshed out exposition and storyline and plot. Not just relegated to a 5minutes post credits scene. Very forced and shoehorned.

I'm all in with John here. Hadn't even seen his comments on Matt Smith before I made them. We are completely synchronized on this movie. Liked what he liked including the visual effects and hated and could not make sense of the same things. I don't often agree with you but when we do it's usually 100%. That's funny to me.

Isn’t Morbius a vampire version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Bad writing, could have been something interesting if the movie focused on the morality accepts of the story as well as the dilemma of the two male leads and their relationship.

this is why I'm not a fan of these stand alone villian movies. They have to come across likeable so they sacrifice the whole villian part of the villian. The Joker is the exception and should be the formula.

Oscar winner Jared Leto got the opportunity to play the greatest comic book villain of all time. And am obscure comic book villain in 2 different franchises. And fucked both of them up. His performance as both of these characters shouldve been iconic and memorable. They could have been so great. Not his fault. He gave his best and pulled off a decent performance. But the creators did him dirty. He needs to move out of this space for a while and make some real cinema instead.

It's Avi Arad's fault. Just wants to sell toys and doesn't understand zilch about comic book movies. He ruined spider man 3, He ruined the amazing spider-man 2 and he will ruin Tom's spiderman if feige will lose control over him.

The only reason Tom's spiderman worked was because feige was the cook in the kitchen. I always thought Amy Pascal was as bad as Avi Arad but with the spider-verse movie and her successful co-operation with feige it seems like she is just malleable by who she is working with. Feige is bringing out her good sides while Arad exposes the bad sides. I think if they got rid of Arad and put her in charge, with the guidence she got from feige during Tom's run and it showed in spider-verse, she can really pull this off.

Haven't watched this, probably watch it when it gets to Netflix. I watched the after credits scene on KZread and it felt like a bad reshoot, you can't even see Michael Keaton and he probably did it in a booth reading his lines that were written in like five minutes with no thought in mind trying to probably avoid something else they were trying to do, in a moment that felt like it's part of a comic book, which proves that not everything that can work in a comic can work in a movie. Feels like they didn't know what to do. I just hope after that scene and what I hear about this movie that sony will make a new deal with marvel for spiderman, because everything good about that spiderman and all that massive box office is all Kevin Feige.

I feel like the movie we got isn't what we were supposed to get during the original release date considering the post credits scene and who was in it and where they originally appeared in the trailers. Add to the fact that a certain Spidey film from last year wasn't even filmed yet when Morbius originally planned to be released.

I've got a much worse opinion of this movie, but there's a lot I agree with. Leto was far from the worst part, I did like Matt Smiths performance but his character's motivations aren't even paper thin, and I would have been ok with the VFX if they were just a visual representation of how leto perceived the world, but then you see the same effects in security footage so that inky effect is actually happening. but by far, my biggest gripe is the editing. it feels like who ever edited the movie absolutely destroyed it, the beginning was at a break neck speed that I just never cared, and then the ending did the same thing but with even worse plot beats. I will also say the very start at the cave made no sense to me. how the hell did that thing catch the bats, why didn't they kill him, so many questions that brought me out of the movie. Also, pretty sure the post credits scene was reworked footage they cut from the film and then just stuck SURPRISE CHARACTER in, and thats why leto's reaction is so disconnected

Like she said, a lot of these studios had a lot of time on their hands with films that were waiting to come out and they obviously decided to go in and cut this movie up for whatever reason. I’m not sure if it would’ve helped but I think there’s a version of this film that was made that would’ve been at least a bit better
