David's vocals were nowhere near the powerful force they became over time, here. But then again, the one time I had the chance to chat with him about this around 1993, he informed me that he'd given up a 2 packs a day smoking habit by then, so that explains a lot. No wonder his vocals improved drastically in such short order!
