MOR106 - Morphological Analysis (PDE)
This clip explains and exemplifies the principles of morphological analysis using concatenative PDE plural forms an example. After an isolation of the morphs, the method of "preliminary normalization" which goes back to Charles Hockett will be discussed.

thank you for your outstanding explanation.I hope if you can explain further the step of Alturnation Rules.I've got mixed
Very helpful thanks. I have a question if you don't mind. If we have two morphemes that can attach to an adjective, how do we decide on the morpheme to attach first. For example, in the word unsystematical, do we attach the morpheme -al first to the word systematic to yield systematical and then add the prefix un- to have unsystematic ? Or should we proceed the other way round, that is add the affix un- to systematic to produce the adjective unsystematic and then add the affix -al to have the adjective unsystematical. The last analysis is the one adopted, but I don't understand the underying principle.
Thank you so much for your efforts 👍👌👏👏👏
I hope to pass this 🙏🏻
