Mopreme Shakur Recalls 2Pac's Return To L.A. After Jail Stint

Ойын-сауық

www.vladtv.com - Fans will never forget the moment the late Tupac Shakur made his infamous return to California. Calling it “the best moment of their lives," Mopreme Shakur speaks to VladTV exclusively on the many changes that happened after his stepbrother was released from prison.
Mopreme reflects on the police brutality the rapper endured at a New York Prison in 1995 and referencing N.W.A.'s classic hit, "F*** The Police." While Tupac was in jail, Mopreme and the rest of the Thug Life-turned-Outlawz crew kept the wheels turning by consistently releasing music from the rapper. Tupac’s celebrity and notoriety continued to rise beyond his dreams, including the moment he signed to Death Row.
Mopreme says after Tupac’s jail stint, he returned to Los Angeles and pushed out singles like “California Love.” From there, things were looking up for the rapper, including the chance to be in films like “Poetic Justice.” While everything seemed to be peachy, his deal with Death Row didn’t it well with Mopreme. With Tupac signing his deal from jail, Mopreme believes Death Row’s move was very calculated, but not surprising.

    IF a Tupac Biopic is ever made I think it needs to be a 2 part film. Pac only lived to age 25 but he lived such a dangerous, troubling, fantastical life with tons of turmoil and success. It would just be difficult to capture the scope of this mans life in one movie.

    Mopreme was accurate in this interview especially on the way I felt. I believe (in my opinion while he was locked up) the songs that was out then made his legend get bigger because that spring and summer you heard Pac on E 40 "Dusted on Disgusted" My Block on The Show Soundtrack ,And a few other guest appearances. PaC was one of the first artists that they had his material to play heavy and he was locked up. Rick James didn't even get that kind of coverage. It shows you how much material he had. I remember when MTV announced That may get out on bail and signed on Death Row.. I was at Radio Shack and will never forget how heeled my homie an I was.. We both was like Pac &Snoop????We said they bout to take over.. When California Love drop I bumped it on TV until the double cassette came out. I was 19 then was some fun times for ago!

    I'm all for opinion and freedom of expression, but I've seen Supreme5panel on multiple of Vlad's videos about Pac trying to discredit his legacy. This is not the 1990s, this is 2015. Today, Tupac gets mentioned alongside Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, and Elvis. The reason why he is put on a high pedestal is b/c of the continuing out pour of love and appreciation that the general public and even his peers during that time (Jay Z, Scarface, Treach, E-40, Nas etc.). have for his contributions to the game. His legacy becomes bigger (and will continue to become bigger) with each year that passes. At the end of the day, ppl are going to continue to be fascinated by that man and are going to want to hear more stories about him whether you like it or not. Chill old man, there is no reason to be that salty over ppl's perception of a dead rapper.

    Supreme5panel Except people are still making videos about him. Jay is a marketing genius. But his raps aren't important, they're just cool beats. He's likable and non threatening. Public Enemy, with lines against American icons, Ice T cop killer or even Colors, while simple in lyrics, actually make a statement. As far as Pac goes, To Live and Die in LA, especially if you lived in LA was real. It's as true today as it was 15 years ago. Also people forget how much Pac had done in 25 years. Most people would be over the moon just accomplishing one of those.

    he should ask about the whole Thug Life/Live Squad fallout. He just dropped all of them at once because of Stretch. No they weren't the backbone of Outlawz. The backbone was the Young Thugz(not Thug, Vlad) which was Big Malcolm(EDI), Young Hollywood(Kadafi), and Mutah(Napoleon). Ask him how he still had love in New York, he was cool with Boot Camp Clik, Nice and Smooth, Big Daddy Kane, and Wu-Tang(he wanted to work with Raekwon, Ghostface, and GZA)

    +Supreme5panel EXACTLY! There was no so-called legacy of him back then. B.I.G said it best, 'You're nobody til somebody ---ls you.' Album sales rose resultingly. Media can make anyone a martyr. Sad thing is, he was no thug nor street guy. He admitted himself, he was a actor who just so happened to be shot/robbed, then ran w/ the popularity gained from the film Juice as Bishop. He found that playing Bishop was his way to fame, pretending to be a 'crazy' outlaw. Smart people knew he was a joke!

    Chuck Checkman Who cares though? That's my thing. Lmao, the both of you are being salty, crying over spilled milk. He is a "martyr", regardless of who made him one. Secondly, no one is born an actor. He was a human first, who experienced poverty before he picked up any mic or script. "Just so happened to be shot", that robbery at Quad Studios was a setup. A lot of the shit that he got caught up in that helped create the "tough guy image" was more of a result of him being careless with his new found fame. He acted like any other youngin that goes from being poor to being rich and having money. Never mind the fact that he only between 20-23 years old when majority of this stuff happened to him. You're calling him a joke, but did you have it all figured out at that age? I would probably agree with you if he was in his late 20s or early 30s, by then you should have experienced enough to have it all together.

  • @weworldwide1348

    @weworldwide1348

    4 жыл бұрын

    Suge wasn't given the money. Suge's legal team did what no one else could do. Get Pac out of that legal logjam he was in and presented a deal they all agreed on. That was key as far as getting Pac out. The bail actually came from Interscope/Atlantic etc. Suge was liable tho since they got the money back from Death Row from Pac's future earnings. If Pac flopped, Suge would've been fcked.
