Did it leak? I’ve heard this was hard to do and that it often leaks if done wrong but from your video it seemed fairly easy I read your comment from below so I know I don’t need to remove my header which I’m glad I don’t need any other tips or instructions for my jk 2000

did mine tonight on a 5.9 magnum (gas) WARNING!!! (and should be worth a mention) DO NOT USE A RACHET!! (I used my 1/4 drive set) I am a diesel mech. and going 1/4 - 1/2 a turn past just tight is 2nd nature....do not do this here! The cheap screws will pop a thread in a heartbeat. Use the screwdriver. I had hoped against knowledge that it wouldn't leak. Vac filled system at 10-14 lbs. Put on pressure tester, not 1/2 into the 2nd push on the plunger at less than 5lbs the heater plug shot out of the motor :-( wa waaaa Use the screw driver.
I cannot get mine to go in. It's super tight. I've got it in the freezer right now to see if I can get it to shrink a bit.

@@slyjeeper Yes.
I have the stock heater. So that's what those things look like...
Will this fit my 1996 jeep Cherokee xj. 4.0L. Also is that exact one you changed 2” diameter

Hi, it fit my 1999 with the 4.0L, so it should fit yours. Not sure what diameter it was. Check part number specs.
About how much coolant did u end up putting back in?

I don't remember. I think I recovered what came out and put it back in.
Do you think it can be done without removing manifold?

As I recall there was some room under the manifold to access the plug. You don't need much room to get it in place and tighten it down.
I'm hoping this gets answered, did you have to put any sealant on the O ring?

Trucker, No, I just used a little lube so it would seat without damage to it.

@@Hubjeep Thank you!
So, where did you buy this heater from?

I don't recall. Google 82201506 Ebay has one for $69.98
Can you make a more in-depth video where to find the spot to install for an 06 Jeep Liberty?! And do I need to drain it before?

The Jeep Liberty had the 3.7L V6 , I did a quick search, looks like the heater installs like mine did, but in the passenger rear most casting plug. I didn't drain mine, just pulled the casting plug out. I'm not sure how difficult it is to access on the Liberty. Here is the heater and cord kit www.morris4x4center.com/engine-block-heater-3-7-l-v6-4-7l-v8-82203640ab.html

Here is a picture, keep in mind the heater and cord to plug it in are separate items. www.moparpartsoverstock.com/showassembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=962048&ukey_make=1097&ukey_model=15951
Very useful, thanks!

Was the removal of the headers difficult?
@Hubjeep
7 жыл бұрын
Not too bad. It's not necessary to install the heater though, I had a cracked header, figured it was a good time to install the heater. With the air filter box removed you should be able to get a punch and hammer in there to remove it. To install heater it just pushes right in there, then tighten down the set bolt.
Too much talking.
