I was so hyped at the end but then it sorta just ended and i was a bit let down but then the end-credit scene with Jake turning up made it all fit in place and i can't wait for Season2. Big ups Def.💯👊🏾

Clearly. Because when Steven was created to save Marc from the beating his mother was about to give him, Steven had absolutely no memories of these beatings...so HE created Jake to spare himself as well. So Jake has faced violence his whole life, and that’s why he’s better than the other two at fighting.

Also, is it possible that Jake is ALWAYS aware? When he tells Harrow that it’s now his time to lose, it seems like he knows him and is enjoying his final win over his enemy, even though Mark and Steven were the ones MOSTLY facing him, except for a couple blackouts here and there. That would also explain why he is more powerful, because he is more knowledgeable than the other two.

This makes a lot of sense because Steven can't remember the beatings when he was created to deal with it. I think Steven created Jake without Mark knowing. That's why they are not aware of him. I love this series

But Marc is the only who does the acts of violence, like in the van chase scene.

They showed when Steven was “born” and why. It would be interesting to see how Jake came into being. Also, Khonshu does say he’ll release “you two” but he doesn’t include Jake in that release promise. Looking forward to Jake’s “outfit.”

Marc is about to get beat. Steven is the aftermath so that everything is innocent and everything seems fine. But in the middle, the one who takes the beat, the pain, is Jake. So when Jake attacks, he’s the actual “being” of Marc that takes over and kills basically everything around him, who also made the deal with Khonsu

I also think it’s worth noting that Marc remembered every single kill in his “dead body room,” for lack of a better term. And none of the people from the Cupcake Truck chase or the village were in the room. It would have been MUCH more full if it had been him.

I agree with your interpretation of the ending. I think after they were released, Jake took over. I think they go into the “mind hospital,” anytime Jake takes over the body. But I also think them ending up in the apartment is real life. Jake did a bunch of running around after the release, kills Harrow, gets two goldfish, and then Marc and Steven “wake up” in their apartment (where Jake redid the ankle ties).

I don't think Marc and Steven are released. Literally, Steven never heard or saw Khonshu until after he awoke during a terrible moment. And, when Marc is revived Khonshu doesn't think about Jake, but Marc. Until all three can work as one, they can't ask for Khonshu to leave. Marc Specre is the calm, level headed version. He has the most discipline and morality. And, out of all three he is the most heroic. Jake Lockley is the quick to fight personality. Ready to take on what is needed. Steven Grant is the smartest of the group, with the most knowledge on cultures and Egyptian language. He has the least will to fight unless necessary. All three play a major part as his mind is hard to tamper with. And his methods of attacks will change dependent on who is in control.

Jake was in the "mind hospital" too. In the show there were scenes of him in there. He was the aggressive one that had a broken nose. He was also on the sarcophagus that was moving.

This was the best MCU show in my opinion. The travelling was right, kept the scenary fresh and made it feel like a lot was happening between scenes, there was just enough blood to get an impact and not too much to make it edgy and gratuitous, the three main characters got fleshed out just enough to shine and the overall aesthetics carried a lot of weight, I like the stylish credits and the design of the suit was great, Kanshu feels otherwordly as well. It was what I wanted it to be: weird supernatural Indiana Jones meets C-list Split "superhero".

The fighting was so creative and Layla was a fucking beast. Another strong female lead to add to the MCU. Although Ammits defeat was quite anti-climatic it would have been cool see the fight between the gods and potentially Layla breaking free more gods as well in the next episode but oh well.

The Ennead are not dead - they simply need new avatars. Mark "died" and yet Konshu was able to seek out other avatars when he did not sense his presence. Because the other gods were not trapped in the bodies of their avatars, they are simply "homeless" at the moment.

@@BuildinWings Heliopolitan Gods live in the Celestial Heliopolis which exists in the Othervoid dimension that Khonshu mentioned in episode 3. They aren't as easy to get to. Besides Gorr just feels like a God of War ripoff to me. Especially when his story comes after the Chaos King arc where the evil Japanese god, Amatsu Mikaboshi reveals he is an aspect of the Cosmic Diety Master Chaos and travels across the universe eating the gods of various planets before returning to Earth for a showdown with Hercules and his God Squad team.

In episode 1 when Steven was being chased by Harrow’s goons and he blacked out, woke up covered in blood and surrounded by dead bodies, I think that was also Jake. Marc doesn’t seem like the type to kill so violently, only necessarily

In regards to Jake, I believe he was developed during Marc’s time in the military. With the trauma of his childhood stacking up, the military may have compounded it and something his old team or C.O Bushman may have ordered/placed in a situation that tipped Marc over the proverbial edge. Recall what Marc said about why he was discharged. I highly doubt it was Steven walking while Marc was in a fugue state which got him booted from the military.

That's a good point. It also seems like Jake may have been created back in Marc's childhood, by either himself, or Steven. The biggest hint at this is Steven remembering their mother as kind, despite the beatings. Marc switched to Steven right before his mother came in, but Steve doesn't remember the violence. But if Jake was born to take the beatings, as the protector, he'd be the "toughest" of the three.

Oscar Issac's acting was beyond amazing and he pulled it off sooo well! It would be kinda cool if they even mentioned Black Knight and Blade-- or if Moon Knight had a lil cameo in the Blade movie(assuming Black Knight is going to be involved somewhat in that film)

Maybe Harrow's feet never bled because Ammit was healing his feet. Once she was bound to him she had no power to heal him anymore and that's reflected by his feet bleeding at the end

Them being in the apartment is them being in reality, the hospital was the trap and they escaped it already. While they were trapped, the after credit scene happened. It doesn't happen in the order we see it in. Just like when he gets shot. Everything in episode 6 was happening DURING episodes 4 and 5, not after. So while they were talking to harrow, jake was killing harrow (Thus, the bloody foot prints. The blood is Jake killing him.) Is my take.

If the god is bound to the statue, they lose all power and influence. This is why the Moon Knight suit could not be summoned and Marc died when shot. Harrows power came solely from the staff. I think the bleeding was to represent the fact the because Marc and Steven found balance, the real world began to "bleed" into the illusion and it all began the break. Both Marc and Steven caught that immediately and were able to escape. White in Ancient Egypt reflected purity and omnipotence so here, harrow as the doctor in a white ward is suppose to be the all-powerful one in control but that begins to break.

It'd be cool if Jake was the secret billionaire and that's how they were paying for the apartments, paying for the gangster limo and travelled around the world excluding Konshu's influence and powers, just to show he was capable of getting anywhere to anyone since gods were around to keep konshu in check

That could be what they’ve done. In the comics Steven was the billionaire. I always saw his character as the marvel version of Batman, maybe they’ve made these changes to differentiate him from Batman 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Since previous deal, Marc was the only one who made the deal with Khonshu but the power and responsibility as an avatar fell to all 3 of them. So I think they should still have their powers whether or not they agree to serve Khonshu

Man the ending was just bloody awesome!! Means it was one of the best post credits scene I have scene in a long time!

Kinda curious as to why Jake wasn’t shown within the underworld when they were balancing the scales. Jake is still part of Marc and just kinda feels like a plot hole for balancing the scales without uncovering the 3rd personality that is Jake.

He is hinted from the psychiatric ward scene in another sarcophagus that shook, but Marc and Steven didn’t open it. Hence, he was not released and introduced.

Technically if you think about it the scales couldn't balance when all three were still there but the moment Steven went overboard and got turned to stone then the scales balanced even though there was still two hearts.

The reason was not enough time. If they were going to introduce Jake properly, they’d have to devote about as much screen time to Jake as they did to Steven. So instead of half-assing it, they decided to cut him from the story, but keep in hints that he exists. A possible reason why the scales balanced without him is because Jake’s heart was not on the scale, so he was not judged. You don’t need to be whole to be judged, you just need a heart, and apparently all Marc’s alters each have their own.

The scales were not balanced because they kept secrets from each other. Jake is unknown to both of them and so is not necessary to balance the scale.

I actually agree that Marc and Steven are trapped in a prison of the mind. Khonshu honored the deal with Marc and Steven. But Jake likes the violence and vengeance dealt out for Khonshu. The two trapped in the mind are none the wiser. Jake is free and won’t go back easy.

@@misterriktus151 In the court, Harrow got them to believe he was truthful and that Khonshu is bad. So they had no clue Harrow was so close to freeing Ammit and hence didn't help.

I think it’s real and they’re in actual London but the way they got there was Jake’s interference. I think the reason they’re keeping him in London instead of New York is so he meets Kit Harrington’s Black Knight and Mahershala Ali’s Blade to form a Midnight Suns team

I agree. Steven and Marc’s lost time have always felt “instant” to them. Steven even commented that he wakes up in odd places with no recollection of how or when he when there

You missed one critical part in Moonknight. In the scene at the end just after ammit is killed , Layla asks who did that, and Steven says it wasn’t me, and Marc said it too. Then they quickly moved to the next scene. It was apparent there was another. The person who was doing the killing spree was actually the third person - Jake and likely doing the killing in other scenes too.

I was not really a Poe Dameron fan but I thought Oscar Isaac knocked it out of the park with this one. Each character seemed unique enough to be believable and also the same person.

Steven: you cant Trick me anymore, Konshu. Also Steven:

I screamed *"YES!! IT'S JAKE LOCKLEY!!!"* when the ending happened, I was SO EXCITED!!!!

Seeing Marc and Steven back into the hospital scene made me laugh saying wtf is this series really all about - but thanks to the end credit scene - it was made all clear to us that the 2 were simply placed in a state of illusion inside his head - as Jake takes control of the body in order to perform Konshu's commands. It was a really good series and deserves another season.

@JxmiJack in my opinion I couldn’t connect or enjoy any of them Netflix shows, iron fist, Luke cage, punisher etc daredevil was the only one o could stand and even then I got very bored of it pretty fast

If Marvel doesn't make a season 2 for Moon Knight, I will develop DID and let my other personality believe that there is no such thing as Moon Knight to cope up with the emotional damage.

I don't know. I think the idea that Marc and Stephen are trapped in their mind and Jake is in total control makes sense. They beat the fantasy from the hospital and were then shunted off to the apartment in London, but only in their shared mind. I like it. They're gonna figure it out soon enough and then they'll have to find a way out. Bring on season 2.

@@OsrsNooby, that is a good take on the scenario. I can see that being true easily enough. But could it also be that Marc and Stephen seeing the blood is a recognition of Harrow's fallibility or them seeing that his place isn't real and this is their clue, forcing Khonshu to shunt them into another holding pen? I think there's precedent for that in the comic book (graphic novel) storyline.

Its not a fantasy. Jake took them home. Its the real world, as the first 2 episodes were real for Steven, and Marc (or Jake) returned the body and reset the restraints and tape. The two fish represent Steven and Marc being in Jake's fish tank. Whereas Gus was just Steven in Marc's. Now they both are the weaker alters, unaware of Khonshu. And we begin again.

It absolutely is the way you say. All 3 personalities are the same person and body. Khonshu really just played schematics with saying he'd free the other two while still keeping his plan and the more sinister and pliable personality. This would just make Marc and Stephen have virtually no chance to come out since they had no real choice the entire series when Jake popped out to assassinate the threats.

I feel like Marc knew about Jake because with the staircase scene where they’re going through their childhood there’s three floors hinting at the order of creation and existence of three personalities

Hot take. Neither Marc or Steven are the main alters, Jake is. Marc is extremely protective of Steven, which is pretty unusual for a host alter, only coming out when there's immediate danger to Steven. Jake is the only one that has full mental faculties, is aware of his other alters, and is happy working for Khonshu.

*With the Enead gone for now, Konshu had the street for himself to do whatever he want, now I think the past credit scene and the ending are in reverse order, and what happened is that sometime between the part where Konshu "release" them and the bed, Jake took control of the body and went to look for Harrow, to finish the job, and after that he went back home and release the body to them, but if there's season 2, there's gonna be a manhunt of them after what they did in the hospital, somehow they gonna recognize themselves and freak the fuck out*

you know how they changed Mr Knight so he’s the form Steven takes on when he summons the suit? And how Randall is probably dead? I reckon that if Jake summons the suit he’ll have a Shadow Knight-like appearance; especially seeing as he’s the most brutal. I also had this idea that when Jake summons the suit he just summons the limo lmao

I went in very unsure if I’d like the series but the last two episodes really won me over. I love the concept of multiple personalities especially after that end credit scene.. Mark and Steven may have had the conflict you’d expect from such a situation but their goals did were always similar and in the end the same. While Jake clearly has a whole different ideology and I cannot wait to see more.

One more time jake was hinted at, in episode 6, harrow said, "i am sorry it had to be this way, mark spectre, steven grant, or whoever else is in there.."

I wanna See Jake in action! He seems to be unstoppable😮👍🏻 with his brutality and the healing possibility (at least at Night)

By the last episode, I think it is perfectly clear to Marc and Steven that after getting the upper hand of Harrow after the blackout that they have a third personality within. They definitely understood that something was not right an know that the third personality is really dangerous. Of course I do believe that they do not know they are still under Konshu's contract. Hopefully with a season 2 or a movie crossover that they realize that they are still under Konshu's contract, and fully converse with Jake, but with it also hinting Konshu has been a bigger influence on their life that they realize and confront Konshu's influence in their life. There is so mush that can happen and I hope they make more. I do not read any comics so I have no idea what they could do.

Honestly Moon Knight has been my favorite Marvel show so far. Wandavision and Loki were great and all, but Moon Knight felt so different and interesting that it barely felt like I was watching something from the MCU. Also, Oscar Isaac killed it

This was one of my favorite Marvel series so far. I really hope they do more with the character because there are so many things I love about him.

I don’t think it has to be either/or. Parts of Marc and Steven’s perceptions could be unreliable (like seeing two fish in the aquarium) while they’re actually in their apartment. I get that the way the ending is cut could imply everything happening back to back, but I just assumed enough time had passed for Marc/Steven to get back home, and that Jake getting Harrow happened at a separate time. Having said that: I think the lack of Layla in the final scene with Marc and Steven was odd. They just fought side by side, they’re technically still married, and they still care for each other. Her absence is either a weird loose end, or it could indicate that Marc and Steven are living in Jake’s head.

I didn't really think so? Marc and Layla still have a bunch of shit to work out, not to mention Layla likely wants more time to get to know Steven. I imagine they are just living separately, Marc/Steven at Steven's apartment and Layla at Marc and hers apartment (she said they were 20min from each other). I don't think Layla is the type of woman that would just totally be okay with learning she knows nothing about the man she married and just having her husband go AWOL and send her divorce papers outta nowhere. She might also want to remain as Tawerets avatar for awhile and is doing this for that.

If there is a season 2 eventually, I'd love to see an episode showing the origin of Jake. What was the trauma faced mark unknowingly made Jake.

Jake is the one who took the beatings. That's why he's the most violent. Steven didn't remember them, and Marc took him out the room before he could see. Steven protects Marc. Jake protects Steven and Marc.

I started watching this channel because of WandaVision and I'm so happy I did. I understand the MCU much better than before and I am so excited to see you guys break this down once the whole world sees it!

I think it's strange that Marc and Steven don't remember the last blackout and the killing of those guys in Egypt - they know neither of them did it, but they don't try to find out who it was, so being trapped inside a calming fantasy I guess would also explain that I really do hope we'll get the second season, as Moon Knight in my opinion is now one of the most complicated characters in the MCU, as he combines loveable goofy Steven, tough and sympathizable Marc, who's been through a lot, and dark badass Jake, who can actually murder people like Bucky could before he turned good

It is there way of writing his character going through classic avoidance. They avoided opening the sarcophagus in the asylum, they closed the door on their mother completely avoiding showing them being beaten which I think 🤔 is their way of implying that neither Steven or Mark were present during that time. Jake took the beatings so they wouldn’t have to. I think the other doors in the asylum are mental blocks out in place to keep them from being aware of Jake.

The fact they are still sleeping with the leg chain and sand ring suggests they know there is another alter in them and they are taking measures to try and figure out how to get in contact with them. If Jake doesn't want to talk they aren't going to be able to talk to him.

@@SohiHien They won’t be able to communicate with him through the mirror the way they spoke with each other. I am curious how they’ll be able to finally get through to him. I think the sarcophagus in the asylum might be a way but idk 🤷🏾‍♂️. I think Steven will be the one to discover a way since he seems to be the brains .

@@Schrsmnymkr The asylum was their interpretation of the trials of the duat. They don't have access to there unless they die again. Likely at some point Jake will decide to say hello.

@@SohiHien so then what does it mean? They were there briefly in the last episode before waking up in their bed with the sand around it 🤔. I think it’s their minds way of simplifying things. That bit about them only being able to be there during a state of death makes no sense due to that final scene of them confronting Harrow.

ohhh so jake was the one who was the best at combat. i always thought that it was konshu who possesses mark whenever he goes psycho mode. it was jake all along, we weren’t just introduced to him.

i think its a really cool way to show how DID works on a certain level, the speech Marc gave at Duat was really touching. I cried watching that scene. The ending was like a plot twist I guess. But after some thought, it made sense that why Marc woke up with bleeding bodies while have no memories of what happened.

Earlier in the series Harrow says he no longer has the ability to see Konshu, but in the credit scene he does. I know Layla was able to see him too, but I figured that was from the fact that Marc "died" and was no longer bound to Konshu allowing him to offer Layla being his new avatar. So I'm just curious how Harrow was able to see him in physical form.

I don't think they're going for the "evil alter". More like Jake is the one that suffered the physical abuse and that forged him into a brutal, but not evil, person. Perhaps he's more loyal to Konshu, and hesitates less in the violent orders. I hope at the end the three (and others?) are at peace.

I do think it’d be interesting to see what the new avatars may bring to the table, as many of the Egyptian council didn’t get a proper explanation of what was going on, so the new council could result in a kind of civil war, as they are going to have to come to their own conclusions about what happened, as well as about what to do next. Their rush for new avatars could lead them to find out information about the wider Marvel world, and as such realize just who they have available to choose- including an opportunity to pull in characters from other areas of Marvel- an agent of SHIELD could certainly be a powerful and resourceful ally who could give them more resources and a different perspective of the present world. We hear that the council wants avatars to “listen” so having avatars who are around the big players in the modern world might make sense to some of them.

My biggest issue with Jake existing the whole series is that... Why were Mark and Steven able to balance the scales by coming to peace with each other? or I guess it was when Steven "died" that the scales balanced? So does that make Jake a sub-fracture of Steven? Or is this just an oversight?

It's because Jake's coffin was never opened and he was never revealed. He was never going to go to an afterlife so long as he stayed trapped there, without anyone knowing that he even existed.

They are back in their apartment instantaneous because it was instantaneous for Marc and Steve , but for jake he probably had control over the body probably for weeks

It might be Jake who tied them up - from what we, the audience have been shown, neither Marc nor Steven remembers coming back home, so it is most likely Jake who did that.

Dude I love this theory!! It would be insane if season 2 had Marc/ Steven slowly realize that they weren’t in the real world and then have to retake their mind from Jake and Konshu

I think the end credits are in real world abs Jake definitely has complete control without either Marc or Steven knowing, just like how Steven didn’t know about Marc at first

i also think that Mark and Steven are in trouble now, because in the first few episodes Mark said that whoever wears the suit has more power over the other personalities, so potentially they're stuck there for a while

I think Jake is the dominant personality regardless of dawning the suit or not. I think the reason why has something to do with the abuse they endured from their mother. A person can only be beaten so many times before finally fighting back and taking control. Jake is representative of the beatings that they took. Mark saw the abuse and avoided it, Steven was created to preserve the innocence of their mother and Jake apparently drew the wrong straw and took the beatings. That’s how I see things at least🤷🏾‍♂️.

Layla getting a “That makes you The Scarlet Scarab” moment is pretty high on my bucket list. I am itching for a spin-off.

The hospital location is used when Marc’s mins is suppressing what it doesn’t want to experience (when mark refused to explain his past to Steven and forced himself back into the hospital with dr. Harrow) and seeing as BOTH Steven and Marc are there at the same time it could mean exactly what you said, that Jake is in control. Leaving Marc and Steven to reside in their head

1:40 During the last fight with Ammit, Khonshu actually moves a car when he picks up his staff, so there's a bit of inconsistency on their part with regard to his affect on the world.

I’m still convinced there’s a third suit and it’s at the end of the credits. A tattered suit with wild wrappings and more evil looking eyes makes even more sense now. Look at the eyes and the costume from Ultimate Moon Knight.

I reference the brief interaction when Harrows feet were bleeding and even more when you think back to the scene with the trashed room when they first got to Egypt and Steven was in the mirror when I believe Jake was drinking after a night of debauchery then looking out the window at the pyramids.

I agree, marc created steven to hide from the pain his mother caused him but steven doesnt remember being hurt, i think steven created jake to keep himself happy which would explain why jake is so violent, taking the pain steven and marc tried to escape from

Kashew will surely need Steven on Season 2 because he is the brains and the Mr.puzzle of the series... ... while Marc, now I don't know what Marc's Specialty since he can't kill as a Mercenary.. If Jake can do more than Marc, what is Marc's use to Kashew?? He can just ask Jake to do everything Marc supposed to do.. . Marc needs to have something that the two don't, so that Kashew is forced into working with the two personas again..
