Please read: I have so far watched #DoctorStrangeMultiverseOfMadness 3 times in the theater. I don't think they're going for the "evil alter" trope with Jake. More like Jake is the one that suffered the physical abuse and that forged him into a brutal, but not evil, person. Perhaps he's more loyal to Konshu, easily manipulated, and hesitates less in the violent orders. I hope at the end the three (and others?) are at peace.

In the comics Jake was made to both learn things on the street as a cab driver, and to be the one to do the things the other two couldn't bear to do. Thus far these traits are the same ones he has reflected in the story, although he may have a bit more depth to the "why" he acts that way than in the comics, where that was just his purpose, so he did it.

@@theirongiants Oscar in his interview said there is no official plan for season 2. It's a disappointment. You may check several article on internet.

Jake was the personality that took the physical abuse from marc's mom. Marc created steven so he didnt have to deal with her abuse, and with steven unaware of her abusive side, steven created jake to be aware during the time of the actual physical abuse, and then be able to switch back to marc/steven after the abuse occurred, keeping it away from both personalities. Thus, jake is violent, jake isnt very talkative/interested in anything other than achieving his violent goals. It's literally the only world he's lived in, an abusive/violent one. Thus, he is the perfect avatar for konshu and would still have a deal with him. Jake craves/needs violence to regulate.

Also I believe Jake just wants both Steven and Mark to be safe..He doesn't want the body for himself but only comes out when he thinks the situation is too tough for Marc too handle (like in Ep 6) just like in childhood when he came out to take up the abuse from their mother.

While I think it makes sense that Jake was the personality who took the abuse from their mother, I'm not sure about the part that Steven had created Jake, 'cause if he did, then how come Steven is not aware of him? And why in the first place would Steven create Jake if he himself isn't aware of her mother's abusiveness. I'm wondering if maybe Jake was a personality that existed by himself.

Maybe the reason Khonshu was able to cast a shadow whenever he was fighting Ammit was because at that moment he was visible to everyone, unlike before when only Knight could see Khonshu

@@black11189 I have my reservations about the show to be fair but I like to think it was to be for the general masses and not the niche fans. We don't make them money and if the majority liked it and I didn't hate it. Win/win.

Unlike Loki and Wandvision, moonknight started from scratch essentially (i.e. no prior character development) think it was a really great intro to the character, Oscar Isaac and May Calamawy were stand outs

@@louisberry4403 I’d disagree there tbh. Ethan Hawke didn’t have many scenes where he could show outright emotion, not that it’s a bad thing. It worked for the character and allowed us to focus on Oscar Issac better. Ethan’s performance felt more like a personification of an idea/emotion (greed?) than a complex character

Finally someone points out Konshu choice of word during the scene with Steven, I instantly picked up on it the moment he said it

I noticed when you explain about Jake being a skilled driver, it explains why Steven woke up with the truck driving in reverse too.

I love how he refers to Taweret as 'hippo' rather than her name, hilarious. Also deeply appreciate this well detailed and well explained vid

Also the most loved thing about this series according to me is it's theme 🔥. The Egyptian theme that played in the 2nd episode was literally the best theme out of all the Marvel series for me ❤️❤️

Not just the OSTs,the soundtracks are fire.They did a really good job selecting the songs.

Layla was a perfect character and I agree, the CGI for her was absolutely brilliant

I loved moon knight episode 6 . The *Marc and Steven in the sand scene* was soo touching. Really loved the show . Scarlet Scarab reminds of falcon . She is nothing like him beacuse she is a ten times better than him for me . Plus we finally know about Jake Lockley and Khonshu's evilness over Marc's broken mind .

The scales were only judging Marc and Steven. Jake never got out of the sarcophagus so he never, well, got judged.

@@PipPipS the asylum was the transition from the land of the living to the land of the dead. So yea he totally should've been judged. It wasn't just in his mind, it was literally his transition to the afterlife.

Fun fact: the pen Dr. Harrow mentioned is a Lamy pen. When first bought, the pen still has a carton ring that you have to remove to active it. The show didn’t do this, so Dr. Harrow just has an unopened fountain pen laying on his desk.

9:43 I thought it would even better if the reflection shows Steven in Mr Knight suit , but then I think this shows that they don’t have to communicate through glasses, they are truly one at the moment

I love how Jake looks like a totally different person, and I don't mean the clothes. His facial expressions are totally different, way more than between Mark and Steven. Oscar Isac is a trully great actor. I can't imagine anyone else playing those roles better.

I really really love Layla's charecter and her being the Scarlet Scarab, the suit is so darn awesome and she looks so good in it🥵. I don't mind some male characters being change into female, but in in the other ones it felt so forced, but here it was executed perfectly and the charecter development was awesome, she is now my favourite female superhero. Although Marvel really does need to solve its gender bending issue, so many iconic charecter was turned into female, I have no problem with that but at least make them work like Layla's, I hated the Taskmaster gender-swap, instead of genderswapping male characters into female, why not introduce new female characters.

I have a theory that the Harrow-Steven/Marc sequence(in the Phsyc Ward)is actually happening, just in another universe because as America Chavez mentioned in MoM that Dreams are a gateway to our multiversal lives and for some reason Marc and Steven can communicate with their Multiverse self.

This was one of the best Marvel shows i have ever seen..... The acting, the story, and introducing future characters in the best way ever... Jake Lockley was an amazing cameo!!!

you could actually hear the sound of the suit when mark came back again from the possession of Jake after all that chaos, felt like it came back to the original MK suit from another suit....It kind of indicates that there's a 3rd suit...I wonder if anybody else noticed that:)

I always enjoy seeing your breakdowns of various shows and movies. You're so completely thorough and it's such a joy to see the little details I missed, such as Dr. Harrow's sandals. Also love how you're pointing out and showing appreciation for the other teams that play an immense part in the production, like pointing out the mirrors being covered by the VFX team. I think you did miss one VFX detail/mistake though. When Jake fires the pistol to kill Harrow, you can tell they did all of that in post. The muzzle flashes and smoke were okay, not the most realistic but still passable. But the slide never moved or showed any hints of movement. That wouldn't be so bad, but in a show where the audience is constantly questioning the voracity of what's happening and actively examining details to find out if what's being shown is real or imagined, it's a somewhat medium sized detail to overlook. Great work as always though. You entertain me with something I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do and I'll always appreciate the passion you put into this as long as your doing it.

I don’t understand the complaints about the CGI in this show. I thought it was amazing, especially giant Konshu and Ammit. Layla as the Scarlet Scarab looked great too

It's the lighting in some scenes, particularly the one where he suits up after he comes back from the dead It could've used more lighting passes to better integrate into the scene As it stands, it just looks a little too...unincorporated But the rest looked fine to me, I can't think of any more stand out scenes that took me out of it

The musical tracks Marvel selected for this series is just perfect. ✨ Both "In the End" and "A Man without Love" are gems. ✨✨✨

Lemme just tell you, the intros you make incorporating the movie/tv theme into your intro song is just brilliant. Spiderman was killer and this one definitely is too keep it up man

That Jake scene at the end man, absolutely amazing. Konshu in his comic book suit also amazing. Loved this series

I actually in a dream imagined Konshu in a suit before that episode aired and it has scared me ever since

I'm hoping in season 2 like with Mark and Steven, Jake when he's in control of the suit it changes to correspond with his brutal personality. Also letting us have 3 distinguishable designs for the suit.

Great breakdown, this show was amazing been waiting for years to see Moon Knight to be on the screen

Judging by the overall positive reception, no way they don't go for season 2 and I'm all in for it

Khonsu keeping Marc Spector and Steven Grant in the dark about Jack Lockley is interesting.

After watching the episodes again, I realised that there are many references in the first episodes foreshadowing the story. For example, after Steven misses his date in the first episode, he sits next to a ‘’ man of stone’’ who aslo sits with his hand out, just like Steven en Marc turned out at the end.

Maybe someone already pointed it out but when you see konshu "normally" his skull is floating on his body. But when hes in the rolls royce it appears as if its an actor with his neck part painted black. Great video as usual. Cant wait for doctor strange 2 0.25x.

If you go back through the episodes, you never actually see Marc kill anyone, he feels too guilty about death, so he would only do it if Khonshu tells him they are murderers or pedophiles. So that would mean that in the first episode when Steven wakes up in the Alps Marc is completely unconscious and Jake is the one popping in to kill everyone.

15:29 so based on this bit i have this idea that Jake has been there since the start, it was Jake that was the first alter that was made when his brother died and jake was formed to save Mark and not only that, the reason Jake is considered Khonshu's first avatare is he was the first one to make a deal with Khonshu back in that cave to get them out. but Jake only comes out when the others need protecting (lets face it Harrow would have come after them at some point so this was Jake protecting them both in removing a threat and in making them think they let Harrow live)

One detail you missed is that from the episode 1 the size of moon 🌙 grows bigger with each episode and at the finale we see the moon🌕

Also On Episode 1 a girl ask Steven what Field of Reeds is and Steven says "i don't know I haven died yet". Then in episode 6 Steven and Marc was on their way to the Field of Reeds. Too bad Steven didn't manage to come there even tho he a crazy fans of Egyptian legend

After watching almost all of your videos i have developed a new skill to spot tiny details on movies and tv shows and i spot like 3/4 of the details that you covered so thanks about that 😉👌👌❤️❤️

Your breakthroughs are always the best, i love them so much and i'll be waiting for the other episodes (idk if you'll make them tho) just some little details: Steven is not al alter ego (an alter ego is voluntarily created, isn't other whole person, is you pretending to be someone else, which is not the case here -DID-), is called alter and the three of them are alters, there isn't an original identity. i'ts not "personality" is identity or alter. I still don't believe the blackouts happen when is Jake, everytime Jake fronts there is a blackout, but not every blackout is Jake, at least at the begining, a blackout occurs when the control of the body is taken forcefully or the current fronter isn't entirely happy with giving out control. The hospital is their internal world or head space. I really hope they appear later, a movie or participation on Loki s2 would be amazing.

The 2 fish in the tank is also a metaphor for the 2 consciousnesses in "unity" (consciously sharing the same body, or tank). So maybe, if they meet and find a way to co-exist with Jake, we'll get a scene with 3 fish in the tank

15:24 Jake didn't seem to pull the trigger yet the VFX teams added the nuzzle effect nonetheless. To me it seems that probably the shot was intended to be offscreened at first. It just shows that everyone on the team goes above and beyond to make add things to deliver the message better. Without that we'd never seen how murder is like an everyday job to him.

Wait, I remember in ep. 3 that Moon Knight did that seizure thing before switching to Mr. Knight. Does that mean Jake took over before Steven did, or is the transition not smooth if it's the costumed versions?

Basically both personalities whether in costume or in the real world, were not accepting of each other, therefore the seizures whenever they switch. When they accepted each other, the personality switch became subtle. Jake always takes over violently hence the black out when Jake is in charge.

I think the seizures happen when one of the alters seizes control without permission.

@@MagosaDelBiosa that doesnt line up at all with the other scenes. marc and steven already transitioned smoothly, albeit slowly even before episode 6. So marc switching to steven in that scene in Ep3 doesnt make sense since they were having a seizure when switching. Unless thats a minor continuity error by the directors, or that was jake pretending to be marc, and khonshu allowing him to dawn the original MK suit to make the illusion believable

Nope who the fuck would wait for shit video that comes 2 times month And don't do a series breakdown continuously Mean while most of the details he said was said by other channels the day after release of the episode

Also, since Marc and Steven have different suits, I would guess Jake also has his own, and I'm really excited to see it in S2
