Yes, very true. The contact solution cost nearly $120 per year. I never thought about that. If you add up that. I will go daily.

I went for trial fittings this week and being able to drive home without wearing glasses was a great moment , we take our vision for granted so much.

I’ve worn contact lenses for 48 years. Started with hard lenses, ugh! Then gas permeable, then on to soft quarterly, monthly biweekly and finally dailies! What a difference! Wish I’d changed to those a long time ago. I’ll take comfort over price any day! A couple less dinners out is well worth the extra cost and comfort👍

Same here I’ve tried all of them as I’m 46 years old been wearing glasses since I was in the fifth grade or sixth grade. Two years ago I tried Alcon Total Dailies 1 and what a difference I wish I would have started wearing dailies a long time a go. Eye suffer from seasonal allergies like many do and my glasses prescription is high -6.50 in both eyes. They are a bit more expensive but well worth it!

May i ask how many hours do you normally wear lens? since you said you have been wearing them for 48 years!!! I heard wearing contact lens for many years can damage your eyes and wearing contact lens is dangerous due to not oxygen in the eyes.....

@@s__bang1894 Now that I’ve read my response, 48 years is a long time!😂. For the first 30 years I wore them daily 12-16 hours. Later on I’d remove after work. Now several times a week for anywhere from 6-12 hours.

Hello, Clarke Newman, OD, FAAO here in Dallas. When you get to college, check to see if your college or university has a "POPS" or a Pre-Optometry Professional Society. If your school has that, join the chapter. There are around 250 of these Societies around the country. Being a member of a POPS chapter helps hook you up with like minded people, and often with an optometry college, depending on where you go to school. It is a great way to get involved with the profession.

I really enjoy daily lenses. I love just throwing away my contacts when I'm done with them and putting on a fresh pair the next day. It's awesome I'm never going back!

I'm in a pickle with this. I have monthly ones now, but what he said was correct, in due time near the end off the month my eyes get so dry that u can't wear them the whole day so im really curious about daily ones.

*Update* trial testing dailies now and omg. I don't have to go through cleaning them at 5am in the morning when getting up for work i can just pop clean/new ones in and I'm done. You were right. Never going back.

@@roelandahartman5634 You cannot put this into an equation and sum it to zero. You can give back as much as you want, but non degradable waste that ends up in the environment will still stay there. Actually it will come back to you (and us) with a negative effect on our health. If you open your mind a little bigger you will figure out that there are other ways to see clearly, something called vision glasses for instance.

If you're someone like me who only uses contacts once or twice a week, then go daily.

@@beyoncei.1885 well, it’s not really the contacts, it’s the solution that expires. So you would probably want more of a yearly contact pair, or a monthly, or even a 2 week pair. But if you have a good solution, they’ll last you a while

daily lenses are worth every penny to me, considering i only wear contacts like max twice a week anyways. not having to worry about cleaning them, storing them, etc. and the difference in comfort is AMAZING in comparison to monthlys.

I've found that dailies dry out on my eyes within hours and become uncomfortable. I'll use monthly lenses but swap them out every 2-3 weeks and find that to be the best compromise.

I love my monthly lenses. I go camping and spend a lot of time in the outdoors. If I decide to stay an extra couple of days, it’s nice to know I brought enough lenses to last.

@@kapasayskonichwa6646 well I play football in my monthly contact lenses. I personally like monthly alot more than I do dailies because I cant feel them in my eye. I like to know they're there. But if you're asking if you can't do sports in contacts you can. Contacts won't ever fall out but it really depends on the sport.

Can you go in the water with them?

i have been wearing contacts since the 70's and was very used to the lens cleaning routine, believing that durability was a virtue. I was happy with monthly wear lenses and so was my doctor. If something works well, why change it. I have been wearing dailies now for over 2 years and the lens wearing experience has remarkably improved. A dollar for a day of wear is definitely worth not having to worry about contamination and risk of infection.

I'm coming back to contacts after almost 30 years. I was fully expecting to have permanent gas permeable that last months. Good to hear that you and other longtime users are sold on dailies. My appt. is tomorrow, so this all is very timely 🙂 Did you trial different brands of dailies, or did you just use the first ones given to you by the optometrist?

I’m a truck driver, and wear monthly lenses. For several reasons. One, if I get stuck out for a night when I was expecting to be home, I don’t have to worry about a daily pair. I do keep one pair of monthly lenses with me, just in case. Also, since switching to Peroxide lens solution, even at the end of the month, my lenses still feel like they could go another 7-10 days. It also helps, if I am tight on time, I can sleep in my lenses if I will need to save time in the morning. I do try to limit it to no more than 2 consecutive days though.

Wore monthly lenses for years and got talked into switching to the dailies several years ago. The dailies are okay but I haven't been happy with the quality control (have tossed many lenses that were torn or warped beyond wearability). I have a very strong prescription and appreciate being able to see without fumbling around for glasses if something goes bump in the night. I've worn contact lenses for almost fifty years, including monthly extended wear when they became available. I'm going back to a monthly extended wear but I will caution that proper cleaning is critical -- I value the vision I have left too much to not do it properly.

I used Acuvue Oasys 2-Wk for a year and then I switched to Acuvue Oasys Daily lenses. I agree that the daily lenses are more healthy for your eyes, however the daily lenses felt dry before the end of the day. The moisture couldn’t last a full day for me without discomfort/dryness. The 2 week lenses were thicker with more moisture. The daily lenses were paper thin and lacked the moisture..

Maybe your Rx is out of range with dailies? Maybe you astigmatism is too high?

The main reason why I chose dailies was because I don’t wear contacts everyday, I still mostly wear my glasses but I would like something to use on special occasions. That said, I bought a year’s worth of dailies in April 2018, a little pricey yes (got a $200 cash back tho) but I was able to stretch it out to 3 years and ongoing! I currently have 3-4 months worth of contacts today still (that’s approximately 90-120 pairs and it’s only December 2021), and I can probably stretch it out to a year or so. My prescription has changed a little bit since 2018 but not enough for me replace it. I can still read and drive with my dailies’ 2018 prescription.

@@rachaelmends3582 I have a similar strength prescription that does make it expensive. Glasses for that reason are also pretty pricey (think 250 a pair with benefits and insurance already added). Honestly my eyewear budget is one of my biggest yearly health expenses, that unfortunately, insurance won't provide full coverage for, even though anything above a -6 is considered high nonfunctional level myopia. (Meaning performing daily activities such as driving, reading sinage,or screens from a distance is impossible without eyewear.

I couldn’t find a daily lens that was both comfortable and within my budget so I ended up going for a monthly lens and I love it.

Damn I remember when I was 15 I bought those cheap colored contacts lenses and I accidentally slept in it and the next day I was like omg and took it off, glad it didn't cut my eye

I clean my monthly lenses as soon as I take them out and right before I put them in, I also use fresh solution each time, quite a learning process and requires discipline but they don’t get uncomfortable like they did when I was first starting out with contacts

Are you saying that by washing the lens twice (being after you take them out,and then again before you put them in) it helps make your lenses more comfortable? I'm about to get monthly contacts and would like any advice,thanks.

Heyy doc, I’m an OD myself and found myself watching your videos just to find new ideas to help educate my patients. Thank you for great content and good vibes! Also, one thing to be noted is that some patients worry about the amount of plastic they go through with dailies vs monthlies. Luckily, a lot of the contact lens companies have recycling programs to help with that.

Hi, how do I get contacts, do I contact my local optometrist?

I'll always prefer two weeks. Much firmer, making them easy to put on and take off. If I inadvertently rub my eyes. they won't immediately peel off my cornea and crumple. And with Oasys Is wear they're less prone to drying out. Dailies are great for convenience if I'm traveling or something though.

I am team Daily lenses ! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ I feel a huge difference once changed from Monthly to Daily , no more “heavy” feelings in eyes , no more red eyes , no more worries about containers and etc. Even with daily lenses I try switch - one day lenses , one day glasses (the day I am staying at home), that helps a lot too for my eyes to get rest 👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you for video , it was great and enjoyable as always 👍🏻

I've actually used both. I used to use monthly lenses, but within a day or two they'd hurt my eyes. I brought it up to my eye doc and they changed me to dailies. I like the dailies since they are pretty comfortable every day instead of discomfort all month long. I also forget to do some things sometimes, so it is better that I don't have to remember to wash and store them every night. Ironically enough, I did just buy some colored contacts that I'll have to do upkeep in since they are yearly's... I wont wear them too often so all I'll have to do is remember to change out the solution every so often.

The samé here. From the beginning i did not háve a problém with monthly lenses but at some point the štartér to iritate my eyes to the point where i put them in my eyes my eyes went red and I had to také them out immediatelly. After 6 montáž i decided to try daylies and I did not háve a problém with them for a few hours for a day when I need them.

I switched back to contacts when this Covid 19 pandemic thing happen. Foggy eyeglasses bothered me a lot. Lots of tips you said were new to me. Thank you so much!

It took two clinics and two doctors and three months but I found success as a new lens user in my 50s. Anyway, **aspheric optics** in the Bausch & Lomb Ultra Monthly at +1.25/ add (High) just blew all the other daily wear brands outta the water, for me anyway. They are just as comfortable and in some instances more so than some daily brands with weird optical artifacts and inconsistencies that the good doctors kept pushing on me.. and hundreds of dollars less expensive than dailys even considering their simple cleaning requirements. It took personal study, this KZread channel and not always doing what your doctor wants to do that found satisfaction for me. You have to be your own best advocate and if the doctor pushes with some kinda guilt trip... you just push right back. After all the, doctor aint gonne have to live in his lens choice. You can't be sheepish, you have to steer them towards what works for you, or drop that doctor like a bad habit and go to the next. I'm and amateur astronomer with some understanding of optics and an FAA licensed Airline Transport Pilot. So, you could say I kinda knew what I was looking for even when both doctors couldn't.

Lol try gas permeable ones haha, they were like glass and £100 each, they lasted me two years but dropping one I was like ooohh shit. Once the wind caught my hair, flicked it into my eye and then away, grabbing my contact lens and throwing it onto the road.. I somehow managed to find it, being that it is about half the size of a typical contact lens and again made of glass like material so very brittle.. it was unbroken as well so yay haha, god they were so painful though

In high school they started me on 2 week lens and they were soon comfortable I swear I could've worn 1 pair for 3 months then in college I switched to daily and they never did feel quite as good as the 2 weeks id feel them a bit more they weren't as moist as the 2 weeks and they'd make my eyes and head feel uncomfortable which I ended up getting used to. So this year I switched back to 2 weekers and use the solution I used back then and omg they feel better than having no contacts in. I think im sensitive to the liquid that the dailys come in or something.

This makes total sense! In general, I prefer lenses with a higher water content as they are much more comfortable. This happens to me as well, the first day of fresh contacts, I sometimes find them very uncomfortable and then the next day when they have soaked in my preferred solution, they are much better

I think I have quite dry eyes so I went through almost every monthly lense on the market over here and couldn't find one that didn't start itching of dryness after the two week mark. Daily lenses are so much better! Eyes are still constantly tired and dry, but I wear lenses way more often now than before, because it's so much more comfortable than it used to be 🙂 I'm so happy that I don't have to worry about solution, etc. etc. too 🙂 My only wish would be that I could wear them for a longer period of time, more than like 6-8 hours because carrying glasses with me everywhere is quite annoying! I have -3,25 and astigmatism so not unique I suppose, but I've found some great ones!

Daily...highly recommended!! Saves time, a bit more expensive, less discomfort, it is nice having a fresh contact everyday...

I wore monthly for almost 10 years and then my eyes got EXTREMELY irritated and red (could not get rid of the redness and irritation). This went on for months with lots of eye appointments and etc. Eventually, I switched to dailies and it cleared up within a few days. I’ll never go back!

I've calculated the extra expense of solution I spent on cleaning and storing those monthly or bi-weekly contact lens, and compare to the daily, the total price is actually the same for me(I use Acuvue moist for astigmatism daily), the total price is only $5 more for daily for my entire year supply.

I like monthlies because I can take them out and put them back in the case multiple times throughout the day. It helps refresh them if they started building protein or getting the halo effect. With dailies there is no where to keep them when you want to shower for example and once you take them out for the day and disposed if them you have to open a new pair if you change your mind. I don’t have that kind of money.

Daily lenses have improved dramatically since I first got contact lenses in 1999. Back then they were uncomfortable hard things which made my eye feel terrible by the end of the day. Now days they're super soft and comfy. They still suck if you accidentally leave them in your eye overnight though; hopefully that improves in future.

I’m so glad I came across this video! I’ve been wearing contacts on and off for years, I mostly wear my glasses at home. I’ve only had monthlies but I considered the fact that I sometimes go up to four or five days without having to wear my contacts. I’m going to experiment with the dailies because of the cleanliness factor as well because you’re right, A LOT OF MAINTENANCE for those monthlies. I’m excited to see how long the contacts last because I only wear them out/when I’m driving and when I do Lives/meetings.

For some reason, all daily contacts I was using always made my eyes dry and irritated at the end of the day. And I've never had such problems with monthly pair. Still have no idea why

Probably cuz ur lenses aren’t enough hydrated, I had the same problem with my lenses in the past even if I put eye drops to hydrate them. Then i bought new lenses that are more hydrated made with hydrogel (air optix plus hydraglyde) and now my eyes are okay. You should test other’s brands of lenses before finding the good one 😊

Yes same here. I bought the monthly lenses again and I am very happy with them. They feel a lot more comfortable, it's like I see clearer. And they are so much cheaper. Especially because I only wear them a few hours a day.

I just started this week wearing daily contacts and this is my first time using contacts. Still struggle with putting them in and taking them out especially being so flinchy with something being near or in my eye so it feels weird because I am very aware of them for now

I use both throughout the year, Acuvue Vita for Astig for monthly and dailies aquacomfort plus toric for daily. I like both of them a lot. I feel like the Vita is a little more comfortable and keeps my eyes hydrated a little better than the dailies one, but i love the convenience of the dailies especially during the summer time and being a lot more active, it's nice to just toss out the lenses at the end of the night.

My left eye /hated/ daily contact lenses.... I wear a monthly day&night lens, and my eyes are so happy now

Thank you for that (sorta) price comparison!! I’m also thinking of using dailies because I don’t want to wear contacts daily, and I hate leaving contacts in the case for days at a time. I also really dislike having to spend time cleaning them correctly, it makes me procrastinate going to sleep bc it takes so much effort lol

Switched from monthly to daily after getting an eye infection at the factory I worked at using chemicals that could not be cleaned off. Daily’s are brand new and don’t have to worry about what got in your eye the day before. Well worth it

I WARE DAILE FOR 7 DAYS BUT I SCARED

I normally use monthly Acuvue Vita for Astigmatism. But sometimes when i need to wear them a very long time or when i am on holiday i use daily Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. I prefere the monthly's for the price, but the daily's for the ease of use with no cleaning solutions. I love Acuvue, for me the best lenses ever, comfort wise.

The monthly contact lenses are more eco-friendly.. Wearing monthly contact lenses can save materials for lenses as well as plastic containers. I really hope all the manufacturers can recycle them.

That’s something I thought. Just imagine the vast amount of plastic thrown out because of dailies. I preffer eco friendly options, we can’t be blindly living this world believing it doesn’t matter because sooner or later it will bite us in the ass all of the pollution.

My biggest concern (((

I used monthly for yearsss until ingot an eye ulcer (most pain I've ever had) and then proceeded to keep getting small infections every couple months. Switched to dailys and never had a problem

I wanted to originally get daily contacts for health reasons but I could not because my prescription was to high however I enjoy my monthly contacts and they feel really good even at the end of the month because I take good care of them.

Do we need to put dailies in solution before putting in eyes , or just can put after opening it

I've used both, off and on for years. No problems with either, this year I converted back to daily's because I don't mind wearing my glasses often, and only wear contacts for sporting, a few times a week. Saves money, and any possible infections.

I've been on Monthlies forever. I will be trying out Multifocal CLs soon on trial lenses soon. My doctor said they are available in dailies but I was concerned about cost. I've been on Acuvue vita lenses and recently switched to Acuvue Revitalens solution, which is very comfortable but expensive. Now I'm rethinking the dailies - it sure would be nice to not have to hassle with daily cleaning.

Dailies are very convenient! Yes, the MF lenses (especially the 1 day lenses) are more spendy but it may give you the freedom from reading glasses. I hope they work out for you!

Dude, not having to clean is a big pro !

I did really well with Air Optix Night and Day for about 10 years and Acuvue Oasys for another 3, both on extended wear basis. I then found I couldn't tolerate lenses anymore so had to switch back to daily wear and get used to wearing them again. I knew myself well enough to know I'm too lazy to clean lenses properly, so I've been in Acuvye Oasys 1-Day ever since. Not the cheapest option, but I love getting 15 hours of trouble-free wear each day and then just throwing them away.

Thank you!! I was so nervous about putting them in, but listening to your video was a perfect calming way for me to persevere and...15 min later, they’re both in! 😊

I just wear 14 day contacts for around 30 days and it’s perfect.

After using monthly contact lenses for a year and switching to daily lenses, I definitely prefer dailies. Not having to worry about buying contact lens solution and having to clean my lenses every night is great. Dailies are so much more comfortable to wear too.

@Von Xherka Monthly contact lenses are called monthly contact lenses not because you wear them for a whole month before you take them off your eyes, but because of the end of the time period of which you throw them away, which is after a month (30 days) of wearing them, starting from the first day you open them. You still have to take them off your eyes, clean them properly, and store them in contact lens solution every night before you got to bed, unless otherwise directed by your optometrist.

My favorite brand of daily contact lenses is Dailies total I have been using them for years now since it was first released and I love them 😍

I prefer dailies. I don't wanna risk contamination when leaving the lens in a solution overnight. Also daily contacts are softer, thinner and more breathable. Never had irritation and I only put a few eye drops when it starts to get dry in about 5th-6th hours just so I can use them longer. I wear my dailies 12 hrs average lol

I prefer daily lenses and they were a game-changer cuz I only wear contacts to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and for a max of 5 hours per day cuz I have dry eyes and after a while they become uncomfortable, but hey, really great! Love em!

I was surprised to see this in my KZread feed. I haven’t searched anything about contacts or glasses but I recently got my eyes tested and need glasses. I’m actually having a hard time deciding what glasses to get so I haven’t ordered any yet lol. I’m wanting to get contact lenses because I think I look better without glasses and I do a lot of dancing but my optometrist suggest to wait 6 months when my eyes are tested again.

I have -9.75 so it’s really hard to find any companies that carry that high.

Ah. usually that happens if there is an eye problem such as a corneal scar or a cataract. It could also be that your glasses or contacts are dirty. Best to see you local eye doctor to determine the problem.

Doctor Eye Health Thanks Dr, I live in Laos, i already see with the eye doctor here, tested by many different glasses, not change, same problem, they couldn’t figure out the problem, they just gave me a bottle of eye drop, not getting better even used empty bottle. I think something abnormal happen inside my eye, the doctors in here are terrible, not profession, actually want to go Thailand, but very hard to get in during this covid -19 . Please suggest me which kind of foods or any medicine are can help to get feel better.

When I was younger it was bi-weekly. Partly because I didn’t know dailies were around (if they were around 15/20 years ago) now that I’m older and 1. Don’t go out too often. 2. Actually don’t mind glasses. I use dailies and love them. A monthly pack last me about 6 months cause I don’t wear contacts often.

I'm gonna be starting trial lenses soon. I chose daily lenses because of the kind of work I do and I have allergies so it just seemed like a better idea to have a fresh set each time I use them

I've been wearing glasses since 4th grade and contacts since high school. I am now a senior in college and I've always been using monthly contacts along with my glasses. I've always worn monthly's and I am pretty good about taking them out every night. Daily contacts may be more reasonable for others but I seem to be doing just fine with my monthly ones :)

I'm considering getting contact lenses for the first time and I like the idea of longer lasting lenses because I like to reduce consumption and waste production and I like recycling. Looks like dailies will produce cardboard, plastic, solution and lenses as waste and also use energy and materials in their manufacture (and transportation). But maybe they use less resources to manufacture than long lasting lenses, idk? Which ones are better for the environment?

Even coming from a point of view that you're gonna be throwing away more plasfic daily, monthly contacts are way better. But daily ones are better for begginers in terms of wear comfort.

Hi I’m a retired contact lens specialist from the UK, so no axe to grind(!) and this guy’s videos are really good, so keep following him. And you’re right we should be asking questions about waste, sustainability etc.and I hope it’s no surprise to you this work has been done and is available on demand at least in Europe, but a good way of looking at it was explained by a professor very well known in the contact lens field, is that single use dailies used every day when compared to lenses discarded monthly and their associated solutions and packaging use the equivalent of 2 or 3 50cl plastic bottles more wastage per year, which taking into account the small number of contact lens wearers relative to total population worldwide is not significant. So you could cut out one bottle or can of soda every 3 months and wear dailies, with their health and convenience benefits, and not be in environmental deficit ….. or just not wear dailies everyday. Apologies for the long reply and I hope you appreciate it.

Can you wear monthly contacts 30 times or do you have to toss them after 30 days even if they were not worn every day?

It depends how long per day you wear them. For myself, I work crazy long hours, which means my contacts stay in my eyes longer than the 8-9hrs recommended. I sometimes end up changing my lenses after 20 days because they get too uncomfortable. But if I made it to 30,i would change them by then.

I used to have monthly lenses but I switched to daily lenses about 2 years ago. Normally, monthly lenses are cheaper but in my case, I saved a bit of money after switching. The reason is that I used to use a pair of monthly lenses at most 8-10 times a month since I feel more comfortable wearing glasses. I was feeling bad about being wasteful when I used to have monthly lenses. Now, I do not worry about that at all. Plus, daily lenses are healthier and better for me since my eyes are a bit sensitive. I still own solitions and I clean the daily lenses before I use just in case. Is it bad?

I don't think it's bad, it's just really not necessary except when you see a piece or dirt on them.

Thanks for the informative video :) After years of using monthly contacts I will change to dailies for my next order. I do not wear contacts often since I do not tolerate them well (irritation, dry eyes, blood vessels already building) and just put them in for sepcial occasions. Over the years I developed a fear of getting an infection from my contacts and I am very concerned that contacts negatively effect my eyes (and they already do my doc confirmed). I hope dailies give me more comfort and a better feeling in general.

Started using contacts at age 13, used monthly contacts for 5-6 years until I started reacting badly to them. My sight had not changed, but my eye just reacted badly to it and they always left a red mark after them. I had some months off contacts after that and just used glasses. Then I started with daily lenses again and had no bad reaction to them. I always wondered why I suddenly had bad reactions to monthly lenses after so many years? *I will add that I went to my doctor and OD with my eyes while it had red marks from the lenses, and there was no infection or scratch from them. They had no good answer either.

I recently got RGP contact lenses. The first pair I tried moved on my eyes so much that I didn't even take them home. Another pair was ordered and I got them today. The right contact wasn't as comfortable as the left but I could see fairly well. I wore them home and within a few minutes, the right contact didn't seem to be helping my vision. I check in the mirror and it had moved off the cornea and to the outside corner of my eye. i did get it out. Why do contacts move off the cornea?

On the night & day lenses, I wouldn't recommend those at all cause they can cause dry eye down the road cause your eyes don't have the same breathing time as they do w/ normal contacts which you remove...I got dry eye from sleeping in contacts & wasn't able to wear them for a long time

Dailies are over double the cost of bi weeklies and monthly’s are even cheaper. I don’t buy the solutions argument since a bottle lasts over two months. Easily. Cleaning is simple and fast.

Yes but You have to be gentle because it can tear the lenses which could get them stuck in your eyes

I wore contacts and i can feel it in my, eyes. It also gives me headaches that's why i threw it away after almost a month of using it :(

One thing that a lot of eye doctors don't consider, is that that not all contacts protect from UV rays. I discovered this in a weird way. I wear one +8.00 daily contact because I had my cataracts out and one eye could not take an IOL (for reasons not relevant here.) After wearing Coopervision Proclear 1-Days for a couple of years, I was in a shop with a black light display. When I looked at the display I got disoriented, and after closing first one eye then the other, I found I was seeing the black light as a bright white light in that eye instead of the usual dark purple. After some research and learning that the crystalline lens filters out UV light and some frequencies of blue light, my doctor switched me to a hydrogel UV-filtering daily contact. In my other eye, the IOL is both UV filtering and Blu-blocking so everything looks normal through that. I have not yet found a daily contact that is both UV and Blue Light blocking. Or one that goes up to +8.75 which is what I really need. Still looking though.

I love dailys. Just started my second year. At this point, it would feel gross putting in the same contacts for multiple days.

I buy daily contacts but wear them twice, stores fine in contact solution over night. I only use the contacts when I go out and sometimes using them for 3-5 hrs of one day seems like a waste, so reusing them once seems to work for me.

Thank you. First time wearer here (my glasses got run over by a car long story) and I needed contacts to get me by before the new specs were ready. I'm rewearing the daily contacts they gave me at the store but damn they're a bit blur.

I wear monthly lenses because it’s cheaper which is a good option if you’re a student, but with dailies you’re also throwing away more plastic. If they came up with a solution for the plastic waste I would probably go back to dailies.

After some research on manufacturers and here on this channel what I do not understand is that most 1 day contacts are made of polymacon with very low Dk/t ratings. Polymacon is the same material Doctor Allan said is dangerous to wear for more than 3 or so hours. I also watched the video on the polymacon cosplay lenses which supposedly only have a Dk/t of roughly 8. It makes no sense how Acuvue's polymacon has a higher transfer rate than cosplay polymacon lenses.

im glad I started with dailies. Everything about them seems easier and fits my lifestyle .

I have tried both and I like dailies a lot more. The comfort difference is the main reason for me. It may be because I don't clean the monthlies well but either way I vote dailies.

I’ve used dailies total 1 for a few years and love them. I never did good with monthly, for some reason they would always tear on me after 2 weeks. Dailies use to be very expensive but now they’re a lot cheaper online

How much it cost around?

I'm using monthly lenses since 2016 and I'm sleeping with them. I do not get any comfort or infection issues. I'm using Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism, my eyes +4.00-4.25 and -2.25 astigmat for each eye. I'm washing my lenses once in a week and dumping them at 28. day.

When dailies are not around 3-4 times more expensive than Monthly's, I might consider them.

Never heard of ‘monthly’ contacts. Two-weeks is the normal limit I’ve always seen. I’ve worn them for 30 years. Just recently tried daily disposables, they seem great! And are no longer that much more expensive! (daysoft brand lenses)

Vita and Oasys are the best reusable lenses for me 👌🏼

I personally didn’t like daily lenses when I tried them. I found them flimsier and I had more trouble getting them in and out. Monthlies much better for me.
