After a few different tests on stripped paint I can confirm that the DIY water spot remover adds beading.

I’ve used diy wsr a few times on uncoated cars while decon stage and it hasnt added any beading, just a little sheeting. So I believe the water behavior after you used it was truly the coatings. Then with the rwi acid they might got a little “hurt” again because its such a strong acid. Thats my 2 cents. 🙏🏻 great video overall. Appreciate you taking the time to do this.

I’ve been using a similar 3 step wash system to maintain gyeon can coat on my car that was applied in January. I’m using Stars and Stripes 5:1 in my foam cannon and 2. Ounces of the lower acid based in my bucket. It’s made a huge difference in bringing back my ceramic coating to like new. Glad more people are liking the 3 PH system. Originally I really liked Koch Chemie decon wash 1.5 ounces in bucket but it was leaving light acid etchings on windows if left too long. 2 ph wash system is my new go to for ceramic coated cars or cars that don’t come monthly.

Rootin for 3.0 as I applied it last week, great looking coating too. Applied once before but didn’t bond properly so issue with prep, application or coating, fingers crossed I’ve done a proper job this time.

Diy 3 yr looked pretty slow. Ive got that on my sons car which i applied 6 weeks ago. Will be interesting to see how its going at the 4 month mark. Hopefully better than your sample. Thx for the video.

Really like watching these updates. Do any of the coatings you've worked with seem to resist getting clogged better than others? Less decon maintenance would be nice so we don't spend more effort maintaining the coating than we would bare paint lol.

@@BelLavoroAutoSpa mine clogged real easily from a few good spring rains. I have enough left to do a recoat this fall but going forward I would love to be able to identify a lower maintenance coating. Will keep watching your updates, thanks man.

This video shows the reason i stopped used UD, they clog so easy and become more work to maintain than other coatings. It’s also hard to tell but both ryan west coatings looked weak at the end but were called good. It may have the angle but didnt seem impressive.

If you rotate the hood 90 degrees after every test, the ones “on the bottom” won’t matter. That’s how others have done it including me on my test. Undrdog Pro Plus seems to be murdering everyone

Yea that's true. I thought about doing it but then it would start to sink onto the mud when it rains. The bottom having an arch keeps most of it out of the mud. Wasn't a planned test to do this but busy gonna ride it out.

Well, consideration for your next test. You can put anything on the ground under it to prevent the edge from sinking in. Piece of junk wood, broken tiles or bricks, etc. I’m gonna have to buy me some UDP+ now LOL.

pro+ for raw performance, starke for marine, and cquartz uk 3.0 for value

I can see why people have claimed that about the DIY water spot remover. The ENTIRE PANEL, including tape lines, suddenly became as hydrophobic as the coating sections. Ive personally found my Gyeon coatings are easily masked and require constant decon washing. Some of the most expensive I've purchased and yet underwhelming performance.

To add to that, most of the tape did get the coating applied to it as well

@BelLavoroAutoSpa the area between the squares though is what I'm talking about. Where you had the tape, but it would have then been removed. (The separation between coatings) even that had the same sheeting ability after the DIY but then the Ryan West stuff removed that and it was back to normal.

You think the 3ph system is the best thus far for unclogging coatings?

@@BelLavoroAutoSpa I used Carpro Descale after the winter but the coating seems clogged and the finish isn't smooth still. It's going to take a clay toweling.

Not completely... but understand this has been a pretty unrealistic test. Only doing longevity because so many asked and this whole thing was crowd funded so I obliged.

@@BelLavoroAutoSpa I'll have to go back and catch up on previous videos. I had BC3 on a test panel that lasted 4 - 5 months.. Why I was shocked at BC7 declining here.

For all the hate Undrdog has gotten from basically the entire industry for not being a “true ceramic coating” which sure it isn’t… i’ve seen consistently great performance from them. So who cares what it “technically” is

They have solid coatings definitely, performance speaks for itself. Pro+ is much different than standard pro in terms of application and chemical makeup but a good coating is a good coating and nobody can deny those results.
