Whew this has been in a state of "basically done" for like 3 months it's embarrassing. I'd been putting off doing the zooms etc because they're not something I'm good at but it's the kind of edit that needs them imo. I'd wanted to do the whole song with multiple pairings (Buster/Tramp and Kovu/Simba) so I might extend it some day!

I keep coming back to this bc it's SUCH a good combo of manips + re-contextualizing canon clips to fit the vibe (which is my absolute fave for au edits like this, it rly shows how framing/perspective can totally change the same visuals), like 0:27 making balto one of the (many) admirers steele has in that moment, and that zoooooom on 0:31. good shit that's the good shit right there

I was gonna say "closeted steele fr" but then I read the desc and you said it yourself JFEISJF no but really. I don't think much needs to be said because I feel like you know yourself that this edit absolutely slaps. literally the best steele x balto edit that gets so close to canon it could be real? the beginning just really feels like the "oh yeah balto is gay and openly crushes on steele. steele ignores him until one day he decides to take his shot" and IT FOLLOWS A STORYLINE FROM THERE?? steele and him meeting and the gay tension is real LOLL!! t he zooms really are a nice addition to it, I can assure you that it was worth it. especially the one where it zooms out to show steele and jenna. your edit looks a lot like those of wxlve and I'm here for it, because their zooms are one of my favorite! (also steele's ass getting burned fr)
