4:01 a.m. but I ate 2 hours ago. Definitely going to make these but add ham in one half not all turkey.

I was planning to make a 6 layered Monte Cristo sandwich...in the oven. My mom stopped me, because she and my dad don't want any. I actually never intended to share.

Sweet Y Salado One always sprinkles powdered sugar, icing sugar in the UK, over a Monte Cristo and serves jam, usually raspberry jam, alongside it.

I feel like you're one of the few actual wholesome chefs left on youtube. Everyone is either vegan or vegetarian and very obnoxiously vocal about it. Keep it up!

We do not eat Monte Cristo sandwichs in France. Only in the US you can get a Monte cristo.

When I was growing up we had these on Christmas morning after opening gifts. Mom used swiss cheese and put 2 strips of cooked bacon on the bottom turkey layer. Yummmmm.

My favorite sandwich of all time is a Monte Cristo! I must say though, I need shaved ham in mine along with the turkey and cheese, plus deep fried in the "french toast" batter and served with powdered sugar on top and raspberry preserves on the side.

KissTheR1an Oh course they do! I went to school with a big sandwich, a bag of chips, candy bar, a can soda, and a bottle soda. Kids gave me mean looks and I just replied, "If you wanted this much why didn't you pack this much?" LOL. Good times, good times. I ended up either giving some of the stuff to my friends or bringing it back home. lol. My parents STILL send me places with too much money/food/anything because my dad's philosophy is "Better to have and not need then to need and not have."

This sandwich used to be on every menu in just about every restaurant in the US. To this day, it is one of my all time favorites. I have always used swiss, but the gouda sounds wonderful! P.S. Triple decker is the only way to go!

Another great video. Here in the UK, I have told all my friends to check your channel out. Your recipes are awesome and you present each one without being pretentious like many others with only a fraction of your talent.

When making this make sure you are using a large enough fry pan to easily fit two sandwiches as I made the mistake of trying to fit two side by side in a pan nowhere near large enough and spoiled the cooking and presentation as well as making it overly difficult to turn them. Best check bread fits easily before assembling the sandwiches 😊

The Monte Cristo is one of my favorites. In the south we dust the finished product with powdered sugar and dip them in a raspberry jam . So good !

Trinity Pratt LOL! I actually made mini-Reubens as an appetizer once (with those cute little 3"x3" deli breads) for a group of ladies I was hosting in my home. I figured they might not go over so well but since I was hosting around St. Patrick's Day, I just had to try them. They were gobbled up before anything else -- I was shocked.
