As impressive as this is. You shouldn’t be yelling at other cyclists to stop when they are just using the bike lane. If you want to go into traffic and risk your own life be my guest, but don’t put other cyclists and pedestrians at risk who are just going about their day.

This is so weird. It feels like they're riding in a dystopian future. Everywhere you look, buildings that go up to the sky and beyond. I've visited cities like Bangkok, but this is just some surreal shit to me.

Not going to lie, being 47 and a father of teenage kids, the lawlessness is somewhat troubling. HOWEVER. Being a rebellious kid who didn't follow the law very often and skateboarded for decades, I also think this is F*ING AWESOME! Thoughts. What's with the asymmetrical seat stays? Why do the Police show zero care? Why are 98 percent of people and cars patient and accepting of the renegade riders? Why does Toni take all the spoils when his crew rode the entire race with him? These guys are as fit AF with incredible bike handling and spatial awareness! The camera work is equally incredible. And having the audio adds so much as well. An amazing document of something so underground. Such a trip. But please, when there's a dense crowd of people, take it a bit easier. As others have said, risk your life, not the life of others.

In the race to see who can turn the public against bicyclists the most, you're all winners. But a special trophy for yelling "I don't care" while plowing through a crowd of pedestrians following their stupid walk signal. Epic!

I rode New York for a couple of years up until 9/11. I just want to say that I was really digging the ride and our hero and the balls of steel and skills. I was making decisions right along with you guys. But then that dude nailed a cab. And everything is wrong with that. So, there's a moment in Hemingway's Fiesta I thought of. It was when a waiter told Jake that a man had died while Running with the bulls. "That's it. All for fun. Fun, you understand." "You're not an aficionado?" "Me? What are bulls? Animals. Brute animals." He stood up and put his hand on the small of his back. "Right through the back. A cornada right through the back. For fun--you understand." He shook his head and walked away, carrying the coffee-pots. Two men were going by in the street. The waiter shouted to them. They were grave-looking. One shook his head. "Muerto!" he called. The waiter nodded his head. The two men went on. They were on some errand. The waiter came over to my table. "You hear? Muerto. Dead. He's dead. With a horn through him. All for morning fun. Es muy flamenco." "It's bad." "Not for me," the waiter said. "No fun in that for me."

I’ve been watching these races for many years and rode in Chicago myself for 4 years, so I get that taking risks and breaking rules is the name of the game. But the selfishness and recklessness on display here is obnoxious. Riding in the city should be about moving through and between traffic (including pedestrian traffic) without causing others to have to react to you. By all means, run red lights, ride the wrong way down roads, hop curbs, but don’t shout at people to get out of your way when they are just going about their business. Also, the way the “winner” threw down his bike in front of the runner-up at the finish line and then totally disregarded him as he writhed in pain holding his knee was despicable. Congratulations, you proved that you can win the race by totally disregarding the safety of literally everyone else in the city.
