These clips are taken during November 2023 while Monsters & Memories is still in early development. Many tests are upcoming including a longform test session on December 9th

Monsters & Memories is an upcoming MMORPG designed to be like EverQuest but with new zones, features and a graphic engine that reminds you of the classic early 3D titles, while maintaining a feel that is similiar to the classic MMOs of yesteryear. It has many of the original EverQuest developers on the team, and they have been hammering out the development cycle with amazing speed. Recently, Monsters & Memories had a friends and family test, which gave them great feedback on data, optimization and bugs, but now they need more people to come break the servers so they can collect even more data needed to get them closer to launch. There will be new character art and gameplay additions since their last test.
I also plan to stream the event here on my channel, and it will be exciting to get in and see just how much of the spirit of EverQuest is in Monsters & Memories. Of course, this is still an early build of the MMO, and we can expect much to change between this test and the release, but I think there will be enough here for us to get a good feel on it.

Feel the same way. I never even heard of this game and it gives me EQ vibes / feels in way that Pantheon never really did (Pantheon reminded me of WoW in a lot of ways, even before the graphics changes).

Heya Nathan, that room with the deacon is the room of Jacob, a spectral ghost that drops cloth items and a ring. Obviously that's subject to change at any time. You can camp his room by moving off the ramp and to one of the two corners at each end of the room with the cubby in the middle. You'll only get the skeleton that pops on you in the corner and you can pull everything else while waiting on Jacob to repop. Doable at group level 5-6. Would love to no-life the December test with a solid group that wants to push as far into Wyrmsbane as we can get.

Nice, we camped there for awhile, but didn't see the named pop while we were there, we thought the Deacon might be a placeholder

@@TheNathanNAPALM yep, Deacon is the PH. Jacob, the specter will buff himself as soon as he spawns as well as any clerics within range of him, so he ends up being quite a bit more powerful if he's not grabbed quickly. I don't think we can see what buffs mobs have on them yet, but if you have a dispeller in the group, just make sure they hit him with it a couple times. He hits like a truck. In my experience he spawned about 5-7 times out of 2-3 hours of being in the area.
This game is on top of my radar Dec 9th can't come fast enough!

im impressed with the challenge of it. How fast do you level? Faster than Embers? Do you find you get a lot more spells or abilities at lower levels than embers?

yeah more spells and abilities and leveling up is maybe just a tad faster than Embers, more in line with P99

The longest test yet : 34 hours the server will be up
I've missed every playtest. They don't seem to send out notifications, even though they have my email. If they want to "stress" test, they should notify people so they can get more people for the "stress" part. I'm frankly annoyed.

This was a "flash test" they just needed some data real quick, sometimes in development this is needed : big test is Dec 9th

Dont get me wrong I love Everquest but grafics where back then and today real crap. Compared to daoc for example and they just had 2 years difference from release date.
