Monsters & Memories is an upcoming MMORPG designed to be like EverQuest but with new zones, features and a graphic engine that reminds you of the classic early 3D titles, while maintaining a feel that is similiar to the classic MMOs of yesteryear. It has many of the original EverQuest developers on the team, and they have been hammering out the development cycle with amazing speed. Recently, Monsters & Memories had a friends and family test, which gave them great feedback on data, optimization and bugs, but now they need more people to come break the servers so they can collect even more data needed to get them closer to launch. There will be new character art and gameplay additions since their last test.
I also plan to stream the event here on my channel, and it will be exciting to get in and see just how much of the spirit of EverQuest is in Monsters & Memories. Of course, this is still an early build of the MMO, and we can expect much to change between this test and the release, but I think there will be enough here for us to get a good feel on it.

I hope these guys get the funding they need. Unlike a certain other 'old-school' MMO in 'development' this one looks like the perfect home for all us old EQ players. I just missed the test last week but I will be there in December.

This looks good, but I am having a hard time getting in to the graphics.. It is why I dropped support for a recent EQ style game in Development that had a full graphics overhaul change lol. Doesn't mean I won't try this but Guess we shall see.

I missed this test event but next time I will be out there... this looks really good (I wish Pantheon looked this good). I've been watching their development streams and really dig seeing that side of "how a game is made" (again I wish VR and Pantheon did that too). I'm really rooting for this team and this game... really excited for it.

WOW i can't even believe they had a cave and everything. I assumed all of that was locked off to the public. . . i'm not 100% inspired to explore during the test on the 9th. I'm going to continue to pester you for a slot in your group. My mic and body are READY! 😇

You guys did a ton of exploring! I didn't get past the newbie yard, but I was there at the end beating on the red dragon, so I'm in the mob there somewhere. I played a female goblin with a totally insane grin. It was a ton of fun.
I enjoyed the test for what it was and knew things were going to be rough. That said, I had fun learning controls, exploring the city, and trying to follow the initial Ele questline.

Yeah issues like that are super common at this point in development, especially with so many players onscreen and in one zone at once, once we got away from the crowd, all that went away. We can expect it to get better as development continues

Well it was intended to be a stress test. See how it goes on the 9th.
They should shorten the arms on the ogre and dwarf races so their arms aren't nearly dragging the ground, regardless I'm still excited to try this game someday

I already know I want to play the inquisitor class. There has been two classes I have wanted to see in an MMO for awhile, inquisitor and alchemist. Home run for me already!

Wow this is looking good, in the sense that it made me feel things that had been buried a long long time.. All those misterious places found in just a little bit of exploring a single zone, the sense of danger.. And the classes looking interesting. Just hope some models end up looking less goofy, because the humans-elves look pretty good about their proportions.
As good as the characters look, this looks extraordinarily fun.
i played UO, then EQOA for years then EQ2, LOTRO, WOW, and FF14......this one reminds me of EQOA the most, on sight alone. when can we actually play this?

Graphics are just bad but its not the end of the world. Sorry but I do like an updated graphics that are a bit better than this. I do have questions though. Are the classes diverse and unique? Are the abilities compelling and take thought to play well? Is the combat fun? Finally a big one for me, is there going to be at least as much content as EQ had at launch? This is one odd thing to me about Embers Adrift I dont like. Embers doesnt feel like a world. It feels like 1 tiny "city" and only a handful of zones. Plus those zones are very level specific so lower level players rarely see higher level people. Embers dungeons are also not the old EQ set up a camp style. Are dungeons here more like the EQ format?

I played last weekend and I'm not sure what everyone is seeing. I think everyone is so desperate for a new MMO, that the standards have went way down. I will indeed play it again the next test, and keep giving it a fair chance. However, as of now, It just seems like another low budget indi game.

Its the feeling of a world that actually demands respect because it's difficult, it's the return of classes and abilities we love, it's the D&D inspired approach to development and world building, it's the coziness of camping and XPing and the glory of not knowing anything and discovering things for the first time at the risk of a death penalty that is meaninful and impactful

Sure, I understand all of that. There is nothing more I want than to experience that 1st day I logged into EQ beta as a Erudite Mage, not being able to see 10 feet in front of my face in Tox Forest, no map, and no idea what to do or where to go. The difference there was, EQ had a very polished game for the time. As much as I would love to see M&M succeed and bring back that nostalgia, atm I just cant see it happening. You can call a turd whatever you want, but at the end of the day, its still a turd. BTW, even if we don't agree on this one, I appreciate your coverage on the game! @@TheNathanNAPALM

Uh, what? They've made the most forward momentum progression I've ever seen, this stream is nothing but proof positive that they're getting it done, and amazingly fast.
That water looks amazing! Like it doesn't belong in that style of game. The combat seems slow and dated though. That's my only real complaint about what I saw.
We will see nathan, I want to play/see the necro before i pass final judgement
I wnet and registered but when i try to log in it says invalid ect. I guess i try to put in a support ticket cause it wont let me register saying i already exists
