I would love it! My mom passed 5 years after my dad and I know, now, that there were some things not said that should have. I think it would be most healing for me because it's still very raw even though it's been 12 years since she's been gone. It would be so awesome if you did reverse covers of some famous love songs. It's really hard to find a good love song that I can send my hubby that isn't a male singing about a woman! LOL

I just wanted to thank you for this incredibly beautiful song. You have no idea how much it means to me, because it helped me say everything I needed to say to my dad. His cancer came on so fast, & sadly lost him 9 days after finding out his diagnosis. I was able to play this right after we took him off ‘Comfort Care’, and even though he was unconscious, I KNOW he heard it, because I got his very last hand squeeze. This song will be forever in my heart, and will be played often. Thanks again for giving us ‘Daughters’ a way to say goodbye to our Daddy’s. ❤️❤️

I have been a Daddy's girl all my life, even through tearaway teenage years. I lost my Dad to MND in October and found this video a fortnight ago. It is so beautiful and your voice adds so much more emotion to it. I never got the chance to say goodbye to my Dad because he went suddenly in his sleep without warning, but had I of being there, it would have gone something like this song.

I lost my dad 11 months ago and I still regret myself for not forgive him for leaving my mom. But, I know that he was trying the best that he could to raise me and my 2 brothers. Rest in peace dad, I know we all make mistakes.

COVID took my ex-wife’s dad a few years ago and it absolutely destroyed her. I just, for the first time, heard this painful yet beautiful song by James, mine’s been gone for 16 long years now and it still feels like yesterday sometimes. Thank you so much for the proper version I can now send her to hear. As bad as it hurts, it’s beautiful.

Thank you for this version. My heart needed it just now. My dad passed in ‘03 just a few months prior to me getting married. As his youngest child, I couldn’t bear a full wedding without him walking me down the aisle. So my husband and I scraped everything and got married at the courthouse instead with family and friends as witnesses. I don’t regret it for the world. We’ve been happily married with 3 kids since. My dad’s birthday was just a few days ago and had I found this song on that day, it would’ve broke me like the day he died. It still broke me but not as bad! LOL. You have the voice of an angel and just gained another subscriber. ❤️❤️❤️

I think any type of loss is extremely difficult but I can’t imagine having to plan a wedding after losing a parent so I completely understand why you chose to get married in a courthouse instead. Me and my dad have been at war all our lives, but since my mum nearly died 3 times from cancer and is still really poorly she asked me and my dad t o forgive each other before she dies, so thats what we did, we now have a good relationship and the 1st time in a long time i bought him a birthday 🎁

I’m the same way! I have to sing it repeatedly and get to a point where it’s almost robotic. Then I add emotions back in a little at a time otherwise they just take over the whole song!

He showed me this song a few months before, and passed peacefully minutes after singing it to him when it was time. Rest in peace to my best friend, my daddy 🤟🏻 01-01-73 - 08-06-23

@@xoGeorgiaxo1 I wouldn't have it any other way! As long as I'm able to properly care for him, I will. It truly is hard to see what used to be the strongest man you knew turn into someone almost like a child. He sometimes has a hard time telling the difference in what is a hallucination or reality and calls me in to help come back to what's real. He has good days and bad days, and right now he seems to be doing really well. Thank you!!!
