This is footage of the June 13, 1942 "New York At War" Parade.
@MaskHysteria11 ай бұрын
1:28 These are M3 tanks, the predecessor to the M4 Sherman, and were early-war American tanks mostly from 1941 and 1942. Most had been phased out of front line duty by 1943 in favor of the Sherman or were in rear areas and/or used for spare parts, since they were built on the same chassis as the Sherman. I imagine they're either trainers, assigned to national guard units, or this film was made prior to 1945.
@quinnthespin5407
11 ай бұрын
Was not prior, my grandfather was there watching the parade, they were probably just simply the closest tanks they could round up for the parade
@jorinton
11 ай бұрын
@@quinnthespin5407 I do not think so. I think this is mislabeled. There was no parade in 1945 in New York. There was one in 1946. Considering the attandance - King George II of Greece, specifically mentioned Vice President Wallace who had not been vice president by 1945 and the Czechoslovak column having "Czechoslovakia fights on" with Heydrich there (He was assassinated in 1942) this is actually in my opinion the New York at War Parade from 1942 which was watched on by 2.5 million people. Edit: see the the 1946 parade was also much smaller. Only a single Airborne division present and attended by New York Governor Dewey. The video from there exists and looks much different. Edit 2: @MaskHysteria I hope this mentions you so that you also get pinged.

So we want more world wars and nukes falling on cities so we can have more of these? How can there be a world at peace but also with drafts? do you not want a world with peace? drafted people with piss poor pay who just won the biggest war of all time are the reason that parade happened. That is not a rinse and repeat event, especially for a society that is supposed to be continuing to improve and advance. Another world war would easily destroy civilization with the weapons we have now and the actual people you should despise who are not democrats or republicans will survive in their underground super facilities. You seem very reasonable though, with your few subscriptions to gun channels. Quite the educated philosopher no doubt.
@iboarshock70598 жыл бұрын
This parade must have been earlier than 1945 and so can't be a parade celebrating the final victory in the war. Only, at that point, the goal of victory. Vice-president Wallace is identified as watching the parade at 0:45, but Wallace was Roosevelt's vice-president only until the election of 1944, when he was replaced by Harry Truman. So it must be from before then.

It’s crazy to think that Russia looks the way we did back in the day. They have more pride they have stronger values lately. Our country is so full of crap and we have nobody that wants to serve anymore. Unfortunately, I feel like our president needs to put a draft out for all these youngsters that wanna carry guns around and point them on Instagram and think they’re tough put them in the uniform and train them, and show them what streets are about what holding the gun should be for nowadays, it’s like we are all fighting each other and every day is like a Civil War over nothing over small things such as somebody’s preferences we need to remember what it’s like to be America this was America today today we are just easy targets. The only one that stands the chances are our military we need to get back to the basics.

This is footage of the June 13, 1942 "New York At War" Parade.

Was not prior, my grandfather was there watching the parade, they were probably just simply the closest tanks they could round up for the parade
@jorinton
