    I’m enjoying $2/5. Still a little intimidated by the higher amounts of money but I’m getting used to it.

    There is no river three bet in the 910 hand. You bet small to induce a raise and got what you wanted. Don’t get greedy. Snap it off and collect the pot. Worse is never calling there. Also I think the aces 4 bet size was fine. I might have made it $210-$225 but $250 is fine also. Any raise you make in that spot is going to look ultra strong. May as well make it big and hope he Jams. Taking it down pre flop no risk is never bad though.

    Yep, I enjoy it too when I’m in Vegas. But here in Biloxi the room is uncapped so 1/3 plays more like 2/5 and 2/5 more like 5/10. I would prefer a cap so I may play more 2/5 when I get to Vegas this summer.

    The T9 hand, calling river is fine. 78 makes straight, better 2 pairs. Fine play

    Yeah, I felt calling was probably best. My only thought was that we could get value from Ax hands but it would be very thin.

    Calling is absolutely the best option. You think you want value from ace-x hands and you raise then you end up getting called with aces up for a better two pair.

    I think with aces in that spot 2.5x the 3! Plus the dead money is fine. $200-225 would have been my sweet spot.

    I like the large raise. If you makexit the standard 150-175 you get 2 calls. I don't like acting like a statue anymore... Too many people here in Vegas view that as strong. Acting weak or speaking typically is viewed weaker.

  • @nickg408

    @@dpaddock66 why would 150-175 be standard?

  • @dpaddock66

    @dpaddock66

    A few things. $50 is not a min click, that would be $45 since the raise from $5 to $25 is $20. The standard raise is 3-4 times the bet, not the pot. With Aces, he definitely wants to induce a reraise pre flop or folds. If he gets 1 call, he'll get multiple calls. At these stakes, Js, Qs, Ks, & AK would reraise a typical 3x raise. They might fold to that large of a bet.

    Not sure where 200-225 comes from. 2.5x the 3b is 125, plus the two callers (25 + 25) = 175. You don't add your own original raise in the calculation because it is part of the 2.5x. You don't really want your 4b size to be more than 1/4 of the effective stack bc any more than that commits you to the pot. This is most likely why the villain asked why the bet was so big. He knows that if he were to go all in, hero is pretty much committed to the pot, which probably partially convinced him to fold.

    I love the poker room at Resorts World but there is usually only a couple tables of $1/3 and maybe 1 table of $2/5 running. It usually picks up during the WSOP so I will probably get a few sessions in over there during the series. Usually less of wait than the other rooms on the strip.

    First hand: You raised to 20. You do not need to raise as large at 2/5. I'd just make RFI 3bb unless in SB. T9s: I think villain turned his hand into a bluff on the river, so I think 3betting is not necessary.

    reraising the river with 10/9h would have been suicidal. what are you gonna do when he jams on you? some players would be slow playing a flopped straight there. good thing when you cash out they never ask you how many pots you won...just how many chips you have.
