Kinda sad that the world finals are no longer in Vegas at sam boyed. Such an iconic venue for monster jam that can never be replaced with it's absence.

I think the world finals has lost a lot of prestige and interest over the past 3 years. Having so many championships brings down the importance of the trophies. Fan judging is also a big contributor, allowing fans to vote with a lot of bias rather than an official criteria. Fan judging also has the officials shut trucks off as soon as time runs out so fans can score which is probably the biggest detriment to the show. Furthermore, Orlando in May might be the worst time to have it considering weather. I think monster jam has a lot of work to do to retain fans, nonetheless, get fans back.

I somewhat agree with this. I think the only valuable championship they added was Skills, since Skills is the only competition that's in every Monster Jam competition out there. The fan judging point I also agree with. But ultimately they couldn't control the weather, and the city with the biggest bid got to host the show so that wasn't there fault.

weather is a factor in any motorsport. monster trucks evolved from mud bogging/mega trucks, most drivers are former mud boggers. rain and mud shouldnt have any real impact besides actually showing what a drivers skills are on a less then ideal track

@@harveylong5878 I’m aware, I actually enjoy muddy shows. I’m speaking strictly from a fan experience standpoint. Thunderstorm delays and humidity are the main issue. My fried worked the world finals and said setting up all the sponsor banners and tarps failed because of the wind and humidity.

Here’s what they should do: -Take the World Finals out of Orlando and put it in a city that can support Vegas-style racing like Glendale. -Get rid of Skills and High Jump. They are pointless and are boring if you ask me. -Bring back 32 trucks. I know that they probably can’t do that now cause if the shortage of competitors, but when they can, expand it back to 31 and make the final spot the Young Guns Shootout which should be brought back and expanded back to 16 trucks when they can. -Have it in March. May is too long a wait, plus it makes it so the drivers can’t have breaks before Summer shows. -Get rid of fan judges. Bring back Bonus Time as well. 6 regulation judges and 1 bonus judge that are officials = perfect. -Make spots earned. Have each show in the season be part of one big points series. The top 31 drivers make it in, select 16 trucks that have never competed in the World Finals that have done good throughout the season for the Young Guns Shootout. -Make the officials be more lenient with the RII. If they break anything outside of a 4-link, let them run as long as they want. -And last but not least… BRING BACK CRUSH CARS AND PRETTY COLRS/DESIGNS TO THE TRACKS! Don’t make them steep dirt ramps with two colors and no crushable stuff. Make big and small obstacles spaced out and have a good balance of crush cars and dirt ramps with pretty colors and designs.

@@monsterjamin24-79 I totally agree. Thats what made the sport popular in the first place. When they took all of that away, it sucked the fun out of Monster Jam. Monster Jam was originally all about crushing cars and destruction, which was awesome. Now its all skills, and dirt jumps for big air, which is boring (big jumps now happen too often in the sport instead of once in a while, which was awesome). All of these gimmicks have absolutely killed and gutted Monster Jam as a whole. Also not to mention the fact that Speed doesn't exist anymore makes it 10x worse.. Monster Jam was always great on Speed(Thanks to Scott and Mark) or sometimes in the early years of fs1.

Yet again, another great analysis of the Monster Jam World Finals show! This time, the 2010s edition. Everything I felt was spot on & like before, I tried to find any means necessary to watch the shows when they happened on TV or DVD (no more VHS). I also attended the 2012 World Finals w/ my Grandma (one of the best memories I ever had with her). However, like many of you guys out there, I noticed & felt the slow deterioration of this event. It was around 2016-17ish I started to feel a "rinse & repeat" feeling when March came around. Started to wonder if things like corporate profits, event consistency, or reaching to earn new young fans became the priority over what made for a solid & innovative Monster Jam season finale, recognized by veteran fans. Honestly, I felt the last thing keeping the show special was the prestige & tradition of the event as well as it residing in Las Vegas. When the World Finals was moved to Orlando, I had mixed feelings about it but wanted to be open to the innovation of the show (now I understand it regarded details with Samboyd Stadium). After watching this year's World Finals on KZread, the show has an opportunity to be reborn (especially the racing championship), but some years of trial & error with track designs, event location, & other details that give this event its charm will need to be addressed. Only time will tell but hey, it's still the Monster Jam World Finals! Again, thanks MonsterTalk creating these videos & firing me back up about Monster Jam! Been a fan of MJ since 1999!

This has been a great mini-series, I've really enjoyed seeing the evolution of everything!

I might be in the minority here but I love the destructive freestyle much more than than the tricks, although that front flip is still pretty badass. I just didn't like them phasing out the vehicles. I know they still do some. I still got the 2001 WF my mom and dad recorded on tape and I watch it from time to time.

I miss the destruction element alot. The flips are cool, but they really what im looking for out of a giant monster truck. I LOVED the world finals back in the day.

Charlie pauken's run was one of the best I have ever seen. To this day it's still awesome. Neil Elliot got robbed in WF18 though. One front flip alone should not have made him win. The rest of the run sucked.

World finals 19 was the only one I went to, and I know some people don’t like it that much because of how many trucks rolled over, but I love it, it’s my favorite especially because Ryan Anderson didn’t just deserve the win, he did my favorite best ever freestyle in my life ever

Man I was lucky because the first time I went to monster jam world finals was in 2018 and I didn't even know Sam Boyd Stadium would not host events anymore. It was litterly one of my most favorite venues and I still miss it ;-;

Man, i had no idea i had been disconnected from Monster Jam for so long. I used to watch whatever i could of monster jam. I knew son uva digger was a truck, but i had no clue it was 11 or so years old already (and what a beautiful truck it is). I LOVED the racing at sam boyd stadium and i had a hell of a collection of monster jam toy trucks. From what i see of monster jam today, theres a disconnect for me. I miss seeing cars/RV's get destroyed in freestyle and seeing the trucks do backflips all the time is weird for me. Feels like a lack of destruction. And alot of the trucks dont hit me the way they did back in the day. The people hosting the broadcasts are flat to me too, but maybe i just miss Scott Douglas alot. I could be wrong since i havent watched in so long. Are there alot of other monster jam fans that feel a disconnect too? Loved your videos on the world finals. Helped me learn a bit and catch up on what i have missed.

I’ve heard rumors that Sam Boyd Stadium will be torn down eventually witch is very sad to every Monster Jam or Monster Truck fan in the world since so much history has been made there. It would be awesome if feld would buy it out and use it as there home for the world biggest monster truck shows.

I did not realize Jimmy Creten made it to finals and lost 5 TIMES! Before winning finally.

0:15 Fun fact: I still have the DVD of World Fins 11 from the event at Moline. I remember the time my sister rooted for Grave Digger and I rooted for Maximum Destruction while watching it on my Dad’s Truck. Hey, I’ve heard on the World Finals 18 page at the Monster Truck Wiki that there were Anti-FELD graffiti art posted on social media. But I couldn’t find it on Google, It’s very sad that Monster Jam fell from grace because of Feld’s decision… If you were given the keys to FELD, What decisions could you make for Monster Jam?

for one - ditch the bullsh-t rule that indie teams must run those POS overpriced BKT tires and that they cant sell their own merchandise at FELD/MJ events. 2nd - get rid of the clearly biased fan judging

Yeah in the early 2000’s and 2010’s El toro was like a rolling sponsorship like Air Force or Advance Auto

and the coolest thing about 2011 was that Cam McQueen "Nitro Circus" set a record that nobody in the future will ever beat, and that is come out first in freestyle, take the lead, and then stay in the lead until the end of the entire competition. no driver had ever done it before, and no driver has ever done it since

i still believe Bari deserved the WF20 racing win considering jimmy actually got off the line before him proving Bari did not red light but the light had malfunctioned showing as if Bari did red light but in the end didnt. Overall WF20 was a letdown to the previous years because it had the wild moments but many many upsets and controversial winners.
