Can somone explain me how the campaigns work in the game? Are all the boxes connected or you pick any one as you please and it will have its own storybook to follow?

By boxes, do you mean the gathering phase story nodes? It’s a choose-your-own-adventure format, but you have to start at the designated start point (entry 1 for assignment quest, and entry 2-5 for investigation quests). Sometimes they are connected and can loop back around to other starting points, but they generally have unique paths although some can retread ones you’ve already seen before.

So one thing I'm not sure of is how you get potions? Do you always start with 1? Does it specifically call out you gain one. Am I just blind XD? Probably

At the start of some quests, the first entry says to gain a potion or two. You can also find potions sometimes while tracking the monster, and they stay in your inventory until they’re used up to a max of 3

At 36:10 you said that the lead designer told you that is wrong, but what is the right movement then?

Btw thx a lot for the video, i just received my core pack today and i am so excited to play it with friends and alone, with this video and the explanation of the rules video i saved a lot of time reading the rules

If the monster hits the edge of the board it does not move. So it would have just stayed where it was

The down movement does not mean “increase distance between Hunter and monster”, it means “move to node behind monster”. If no node is there, you don’t move and end Monster movement

@@CynicallyAwesome It means to "move away from target", generally this will be straight backwards but it could also be diagonal. The rules state, "With each node of movement, the number of nodes between the monster and its target must increase.", Which is why it would have actually just stayed near the edge of the board because its first move would not increase the distance.

I wonder... is it possible to hunt with a single hunter? Maybe adjusting monster power/HP and other metrics? I've always been mostly a lone wolf in the video games, and playing solo in the board game controlling two hunters just doesn't feel the same.

You can technically do it, but the official rules don’t support it. You’re just playing a different game at that point as the challenges of this game is to juggle threat between multiple hunters with different strengths and weaknesses.Trying to rebalance it wouldn’t be the same experience either- you just want a different game

I thought of that too, you could just play 1 out of 2 turns, if you're up and it's a 3 hunter turn behaviour card you get to play twice, but if you're not up for a one turn behaviour card then you don't play, a mini rampage. Just like if there was two hunters but the other doesn't play or even consume time card.

It used to be a Kickstarter pledge. You cannot purchase the game yet as far as I know, but steamforged did say they were planning on rolling out more boxes later this year.

Will hit retail later this year. A new Kickstarter for iceborne will start next month although it will technically be a different game, they can be mixed a little and maybe you’ll be able to get this content and iceborne together.
