Love your videos! When I was a little boy, back in the 80's, my Mother was pretty supportive of my playing with dolls. However, it was really threatening to my father. Yep, he's still that type of person today. Thank you so much for your "inclusivity!"

The music video shows her spooking the other girls , she spends her nights reading books and can summon some kind of shadow hands . Apparently she is also cannonically autistic , is sensitive to sounds and stims with her hands when she is happy . :D I think this doll line is going to have success . As someone who grew up with the og ones, I can assure they do a great job at keeping the gothic energy, they are just up to date . They follow the trends of alt fashion .Its a shame they dont have stands tho ... I cant wait to see new monsters and what they will do with them!

Twyla is by far my favorite G3 doll so far. Of course, that could be because she's the most similar to her G1 design, but proportionally, facially, and color scheme-wise, she stands out as my favorite, especially since her eyes still glow! I really hope that Abbey and Spectra keep their special skins in their doll forms in the future!

I think this is supposed to be her signature release doll which is a cute touch considering her origin. The line I think is doing just fine tho - fairly popular among the kids and that's still at the start.

im a little sad the glow-in-the-dark is gone, but twyla scared the crap out of me as a kid because no one knew she glowed in the dark and i kept her in my room the first night i got her, so i woke up in the middle of the night to see two glowing eyes staring at me with no explanation. screamed so loud and woke up the whole house. she's one of my favorites tho haha

Quality is an adult thing. I have seen my grandson play with twigs, rocks and boxes. I have seen a lot of doll review videos and the reviewers are influencers that talk to the adult collector rather than how the kids are going to enjoy playing or not enjoy playing with the dolls. Just a feeling I get. No shade

@@vampyrekyng_lex I guess it’s generational too. I grew up in the early 70’s with parents that went through the depression. Toys were few and hand me downs from cousins in California (I am in Texas). I never knew good quality from bad. I still look at dolls for how I can play with them, not for their quality. I think of myself as I can make it work kind of person

No quality does matter to kids. I remember when I was a kid and being so annoyed with the bad hair on some dolls which I couldn’t fix so I eventually gave up on them, it also really annoyed me when the dolls clothes were thin.

Twyla has an official music video where she does in fact spook them during their sleepover! So that explains why she's not in pjs, she wasn't actually invited 😅

This doll was super cute until I saw the earrings and I immediately assumed they were bed bugs because she's the daughter of the monster under your bed (I think). I had bed bugs once and I swore I would rather run 7 marathons in a row than have them again 💀💀

She DOES have glowing eyes, like the original Twyla 💭 ! Still waiting for my G3 Twyla 🛏️ to get here, but she has been shown with them glowing brighter than the original Twyla 💭 !

I wasn’t thrilled with Twyla either - but it was mostly the matted hair (polypropylene?) and the designs on the legs rubbing off. The clothes I thought were fine. I think the earrings are supposed to be bed bugs!

I was told she didn’t have poly hair, they just have really bad gel for these dolls. If you boil wash her hair it’s said it gets better (something that wouldn’t work if she had poly)

I don't understand why, but I love those cheap bunny ears! 😆 I don't love the big rolled up bangs, though, but she's such a cute doll, I'll probably get her anyway. I enjoy your reviews, mostly because we're just about the same age. Rock on, Melissa!

At 5:20 you used a racial slur (“g*pped”) - I know that you are very conscious of things like that, and always strive to be very inclusive so I assume you didn’t know. That word is a slur for the Romani people (ethnic Gypsies). Most Americans aren’t aware of where that term originated. Just wanted to make you aware. I love your videos and the your energy ✨

How can it be a racial slur if it isn’t used as a race thing. The meaning is “to deprive (another) of something by fraud; cheat or swindle. Like I understand gypsies and stuff that used to describe race or culture. But gipped just means to deprive. But if you spell it with a Y 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is just my perspective, but I don't associate the older G1 line with moody colors, so to speak. I do agree that certain color combinations make people feel different things, and that's also a subjective thing ofc. However, the dolls themselves are not moody just because the colors are more 'gothic' or edgier; I'm new to the fandom, so this is just my take from all the searches I've done, but these are very colorful dolls still, and the black accents just help highlight these colors even more. So I find G1 to still be a very colorful line, it's just that G3 has the definitely more friendly, peppier and child-esque designs, and a LOT less black, which to me is a shame, but I don't begrudge them their new designs. The only thing I do mind is the quality being hit or miss so far, especially with hair and accessories. But I have hopes for G3 still. edit: This is just my opinion btw, I just found it an interesting point you were making, and wanted to contribute my piece to the convo as I wear a lot of colors and a lot of black.

This is possibly a weird request, but I’d really like to see your cats. I miss Spats and I’m curious what your other cats are like. Also, I love this video as always. My poor goth heart misses the dark monster high days but I understand that this might be what the kids need now ❤️

I love your ranting lol ya make me laugh. I'm happy monster high is back too. Twilah? She is cute and my second favorite character is clawdeen lol. Cleo was a bit mean and I didn't know she was a cheer leader until I found the monster high movies.

Love your channel! It shows anyone no matter their age can have dolls! I love her! My first thought for her earrings was bed bugs.

I got Twyla a few weeks ago and I think she was the best g3 doll! (in my opinion ofc) and I think her hood may be for sensory reasons because in the new music video released there may be some autism goin' on (stimming etc.). However I HATE her new pet, Dustin was always my favorite but they did him so dirty in g3.

Bed bugs. Her earrings are bedbugs. She doesn’t have pajamas because she lives in the dreamworld. She doesn’t really “sleep”, just slips into shadows.

Honestly you make a good point. To me I've been leaning more towards buying Rainbow High/Shadow High dolls over Monster High dolls. Nothing against Monster High because I always will love it, but I just really hope their quality gets better. It'd be sad for it to be short lived.

The bunny ears give me vibes of Louise from Bob's Burgers which carries a interesting lore behind that people would deep dive into. So wondering if Monster High as well created some sort of Lore with her bunny ears.

Ily dolls cant sit right and the legs pop, hair is polyproilen. Monster high twyla has saran, more articulation but sure they need more publi, Also i feel the Nickelodeon serie has an strange schudel... I fear for my ghouls

Finally got my first G3 Monster High doll and it’s Twyla creep over she’s absolutely beautiful.

Actually I plan to use the Disney ily4ever fashion and accessories for my g3 MonsterHigh dolls!

Twyla is so precious, also i appreciate how the new show has her as autistic. I love that representation. If you look really close to her ears she has little cobwebs molded in them and its supposed to be ear plugs. People with autism can be vey sensitive to loud sounds. Love her❤

The same person suggested the ILY dolls and some design concepts for the new reboot of MH. Also had a hand in rainbow/shadow high. But the ears are a nod for being a fan of Bob's Burgers.

The earrings are bedbugs! I love Twila. I think she is darling! For myself, I choose Monster High over ILY. but I love that they are different and they're monsters. My brain and heart are goth even though my style isn't. (Not say I don't love the ILY dolls...theyre gorgeous)

When I picked up Twyla, mine had such matted hair that when I washed and combed it, it turned into a ball of frizz. However, I did a quick recurl and now she's absolutely gorgeous. I am in LOVE with my Twyla doll she's one of my favorite g3 MH girls.

She is so cute! I love Twyla so much! She, Draculaura and Cleo were my favorite ghouls in g1 and I also adore them in g3. Her dust bunny Dustin is so adorable. The button eyes remind me a bit of Coraline. Yup I like her and the black cat. For the next skullector dolls it would be nice to get her with button eyes and the cat. Yes, yes I'm daydreaming, but it would be so nice. 😁

Twyla is one of my favorite of the G3 dolls. While I would love better quality, unfortunately, this is the quality playline MH has always had. I think the look of the dolls is striking enough in a way that I don't think the ily dolls are. More fun shapes and colors, mixed with the monster aspect does, imo, stand a chance.

Referring to 4:35 , Ghoul is actually a gender neutral term! That’s how I see it. I know it’s mainly used to replace “girl” in MH but a real Ghoul is an Arabian monster and they’re typically male! So I use it for guys and girls.

MH Gen 3 is cute, but I have been more drawn to Shadow High lately. I feel like compared to Shadow High, the clothing quality just isn't as nice and the issues with the unsealed paint on the legs of the MH Gen 3 dolls has turned me off from the line just a bit. Shadow High dolls are also much more available in my experience and the Rainbow High show is avaliable on KZread so that it is much easier to bond with the dolls/characters, while the MH Gen 3 animated show is limited to Nickelodeon and Paramount Plus, where unless you have cable or those streaming services, you just cannot watch the show that helps you bond with the dolls/characters. I feel like if MH had made the show more available like how it used to be back in the day on KZread, more people would know about and and be aware of it, because I feel like MH's appeal is very much dependent on nostalgia in comparison to other doll lines that are currently out.

I actually like SH. I hate RH. Between the big heads, fake logo mania and bright colors, I just can’t. But I definitely prefer darker themes. I wish MH didn’t go do bright, but at least they have normal heads.

From all new MH dolls, I need only Twyla. She is just gorgeous 💜💜💜

I have been disappointed in Mattel’s quality for some time. I compare my Mattel dolls to MGA dolls and there just isn’t any comparison. Even the dolls I am paying $75-$100 for aren’t as good as a $40 from MGA. I love MH and I will continue buying the old and new and Barbie too. I just hope they listen and up the quality at least on the collector ones!

My Child loves many of the new Monster High dolls. They loved most of the originals. They are really liking the new ones.

Also, I remember you and Kaiden making fun of Twyla during the Haunted review as well as Kaiden’s head canon on Boogey Sand (his head canon was that the Boogey Sand used to turn Twyla, Rochelle, Draculaura, and Clawdeen into ghosts is actually dried up boogers).

I think of all the new dolls Twyla is my favorite!! She’s like a modernized version of the OG. The other dolls I like,but are totally reinvented.

Disney ILY dolls are fantastic. They shouldn't be compared. Some like MH and some don't. It is a matter of preference.

Awe we love MH but I def see Disney ily 4ever is only like $5 more and equally as fun to collect. There’s a lot of doll choices RH/SH and lol omg & tweens. Sadly not sure how Na na na is doing or Mermaze Mermaidz. My daughter & I don’t collect Barbie as much we were more into Barbie 3-6 years ago. But cutie reveal seems cute to collect and the extra dolls and minis and the even smaller minis. We used to check out 1 color reveal but too many series now we don’t really buy those anymore.

MGA, Mattels,, and Monster High all have the same problem not having real fabrics, .I think mostly because to keep the price point down they have to cut corners somewhere, as the dolls get better something has to go. And the fabrics lost.

I like G3 so far haven’t bought any yet love Frankie’s prosthetic leg for example but yeah I agree with the price point I felt like I was getting more for the price in g1. I know the dolls aren’t “cheap” but they do look cheaper than other dolls on the market. The one thing I can’t wrap my head around PINK lagoona! That’s my ghoul! Frankly I think ghoul can work non binary.

Exactly, there are two or three doll lines on shelves at the same price with way better quality. Lol OMG, rainbow high, shadow high, disney ILY (maybe) and a possible comeback from Bratz "playline" in fall 2023 (probably amazing modern fashions and articulation). Monster high is going to fail if they don't catch up with what other brands do and don't just count on the fame of name of "monster high"

You’re getting rainbow high and shadow high for 24.99??? I’m in Canada so the prices are usually higher but they’re actually ridiculous here. The junior highs aren’t even that cheap here

I personally don't see such a big difference between those two dolls? Like, sure, Twylas clothes seem to be a bit cheaper, on the other hand Twyla got way more accessoires. Besides that I think she looks pretty cute. And I don't know if you can really compare a sleepover line with a "normal" line? The ears, well. Pretty sure its supposed to be one of those bunny ear hats, and the hole at the back is nothing really new for functioning hoods (pretty sure RH has that stuff sometimes too).

Monster High are finally in some UK shops so I got Lagoona. Quite dissapointed really as she cost £29.99 and her waist dosen't move unless you move an arm and leg at same time, hair feels horrid and she does just not feel the same as my originals. At least she doesn't have glue hair! For £26.99 I can get a Disney ily doll with better accesories that can fit many fashions.
