On April 19, 2023 a tornado outbreak occurred in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. The tornadoes in this video were near the towns Strong City Kansas and Cottonwood Falls Kansas. A cyclic supercell thunderstorm produced 2 significant tornadoes rated EF2 by the NWS as they uprooted or snapped hardwood trees, damaged a metal panel building, tore down transmission lines and overturned or damaged 67 headstones in a graveyard. 6 other weak tornadoes were surveyed by the NWS with this storm. Three of those I was able to document though they were not highlighted in this particular video.

I wonder if a 6-point or 8-Point Rollcage would help a lot in case anyone ever got hit by a satellite or an EF0-2 🤔 Edit: Actually, rally tires would be good for storm chasing. They can move a lot of water really fast, good for on road and offroad, another thing is coupled with a roll cage you would probably be way safer than stock. And a reinforced windshield as well.

I have been intrigued in the science of tornadoes for a solid 8 years now, but it has been 10 years since I saw one in person. But I'm pretty sure I'm bound to see another one in person as there's a Tornado in BruceVille-Eddy that has apparently touched down. But I think it's best to stay inside because the bad weather is gradually getting worse with each passing minute. Not to mention there's a crazy lightning storm going on in Waco right now.
That shot from 1:28 - 2:00 is superb! The funnel cloud is perfectly framed by the street and trees and lightning flashes in the distance to silhouette the tornado, all while those eerie sirens are going off and leaves are flying all over the place. The storm feels like a giant monster looming over this small town. Amazing work.

Wow! 1:27 to 2:00 is such an eerie shot, the night, coupled with the splash of light right down the middle of the road, the tornado sirens in the background, the rush of wind, and that monster lingering over head. Like something out of a horror movie.

The thing that makes Hank's videos the best on KZread is he takes much time and care in editing out all the dead space and just leaving us the juicy morsels. Whether those morsels turn out to be 2 minutes, 3 minutes, or 10 minutes, we get all the juice that chase had to offer. Remember the age old snippet of wisdom from the recipe for success handbook that almost always applies, "always leave them wanting more". You'll notice with Hank he leaves you always wanting more whether his uploads are 2 minutes or 20 minutes long! Master video editing skills and lesson so many others could learn from.
