Monster Guitars 023: Neck through Telecaster - Neck break angle explained, and cutting down the body
I don't need a neck break angle on this guitar, and in this video I explain why not. I also cut down the through-neck so that I can attach the top for this Telecaster inspired guitar.

I know I'm 2+ years late, but what if you just made a router jig on the sides of the neck at the end and just routed it flat?

Hi Ryan. Having learned a bit more since making this video, yes I would quite possible set up a router sled to do this as well. The only downside is that I would destroy the wood I removed, whereas here I ended up with a very nice scrap to use in another project.

@@MonsterGuitars well even after initially removing the chunk, a router sled to knock off the final 1/16" or whatever you had left would work, no? Just out of curiousity how did you end up flattening it?

@@RyanMonty Yes that's true enough. In the end I just used a random orbital sander. It was flat enough to get good contact with the top.

@@MonsterGuitars that's probably what I would have done. Router sled is too much work and I'm too lazy lol
