Because he touched the ground. In this format, clean, flawless excecution means way more than how big or difficult tricks you make. You touch the ground, you're basically not going above 70pts, no matter the rest.

His commentary style takes awhile to warm up to. When I first started watching pro skating I couldn't understand and didn't like his commentary at all. Now I find it hilarious and refreshing.

What I am realizing is the ultimate pinnacle of achievements for skateboard competitions is winning a competition while Nyjah is skating. I think everyone knows that it's just not the same competition if Nyjah isn't skating in it, still fun to watch regardless.

It's been a long journey for Ishod Wair. Well he did got a bronze medal in Austin Texas and 3 years later he finally scored an x games gold medal. In total he has right 2 x games medals.

Those commentators thinking Yuto's second run would get him in thrid place. Yuto did 2 actual hard tricks, kinda bailed the third trick. 59 was generous Actually, the judges in this final were pretty spot on. So a massive shout out to being fair and real. Oshad the best skater this day. Always great to see technical skaters win big! I do think that Oliveira could've won if every trick he tried wasn't a best trick. Relax with the flips. Not every trick has to be a flip, it's exhausting

People were barely trying cause nyjah wasn’t there to have their fight or flight on

The last trick of Ribiero's run was too hard. That's like best trick contest material. He should have gone for a simpler trick on to the rail for the ender.

Please, can we have Gary Rogers to comment every skate event? He's hilarious

I didn't like him until this year, he got better. First times I heard him he was often disrespectful towards the skaters, at times his comments were even racist, I feel now he knows how to not cross the line and still be a fun commentator.

I think the biggest issue is that they need to find someone who can work with and feed off of Gary. I get why people have an issue with Gary for this but when properly utilized and managed he’s an asset to skateboard commentary.
