Monport Mirror Alignment- Step by Step!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome to The Laser Channel where we Learn, Create, and Share!
Follow along as I perform a full mirror alignment on the Monport 40 watt Co2 Laser!
As a Co2 laser owner we’ll need to check and align the mirrors.
This video provides step by step directions from start to finish!
I made the video very detailed because I know a lot of us struggle with mirror alignment.
The steps in the video cover the following:
-Checking if the mirrors need to be aligned.
-Checking laser beam integrity.
Bringing each mirror into alignment starting with mirror 1, then 2, and finally how to adjust mirror 3. When adjusting mirrors I always make only 1 adjustment at a time. Mirrors are checked in the near and far position I always align the far position laser mark to the near position laser mark.
-Check the mirror alignment one last time after securing all the mirror adjustments.

Great presentation. I'll be setting up my Monport 40 watt laser in a few weeks. Thanks again 👍

Perfect! I like to first check if the mirrors even need alignment- all of my co2 lasers did not need alignment or just a very small adjustment!

I’ve been waiting for a video like this. The first thing I realized is that I need to purchase the DSP version of Lightburn. First comment too.

Thanks- Actually the controller board for the Monport 40 watt is Lightburn Compatible GRBL Motherboard for Desktop 40w CO2 Laser Engraver. The controller board will use the G-code version of LightBurn!

@@thelaserchannel1 then why won’t my copy find my laser wether I try to find or enter it manually? I have the GCode version for my xTool 20 watt. I’ve tried many times to find the 40 but no luck. I’m going to configure my webcam to work with Lightburn. I made the stand using nothing but PVC 1/2” pipe. It’s higher than the 18 1/2” length that some people use.

@@DaBalloonGuy67 Check out this video where I connect LightBurn to the Monport LightBurn compatible to the software: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fK2stM1rlpCpXbA.html The software connection starts are 11:15 in the video- hope this helps!

I am confused: you are hitting the laser button with the door open. The laser does fire. Shoudn't the interlock switch (green in the video) prevent the laser from firing with the door open?

The pulse button over rides the interlock (at least on my machine). As stated in the video it's preferred to keep the door closed for safety- I have mine open to demonstrate the process. If I send a project the machine the laser will not fire with the door open.

Now could you make a video using Lightburn and show how to create a library of my most used images. Please do this step by step.

Excellent recommendation! I'll add this to my next project video! Project libraries really help when running many different materials on different machines!

Also could you do an extended step by step video as to setting up a camera for an xTool D1 Pro if you have one. Every time I do something when I try the alignment wizard. Something always goes wrong. My laser head tried to bust through one side of my laser. As fast as it was moving, I thought it would have. My current settings for the alignment wizard are as follows: Thickness 7.000 Fill speed 10 Line speed 3 Scale 114 Fill and line power 60.0 This when I framed it, the laser head was grinding the head beyond the back of my engraver. I had to physically turn the engraver off to prevent any further damage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a great idea but I currently do not have a camera for the Xtool (or any of my machines). The grinding noise (as you might know) is either the belt jumping teeth or the stepper motor jumping steps.
