    Wow, a mirror alignment video that actually covers the science of alignment instead of just going over the basics of centering; your my hero! Would have never guessed the position of A if you had not shown the sticky notes explaining the geometry and how it relates to your machine (seems counterintuitive that you wouldn’t aim for in between C & D). Bravo sir, keep up the good work!

    I was unable to align my laser on my CO2 machine. until I came across your video on KZread. you are the only one who explains the ACD method and that made it a lot clearer to me. Thank you very much for the effort you took to make the video. Thanks from the Netherlands, Arjan Staal

    I've watched dozens of alignment videos and this was the one that gave me my "Aha" moment. I probably have 8-10 hours of alignment attempts and had gotten nowhere. I used your A-C-D method and had all four corners lined up within 30-45 minutes. Thank you!

    I bought a k40 around Christmas last year.. out of the box it worked okay to get me started. After the holidays i changed airassist , ventilator , and and mirrorset/laser head. That is when the problems started. Couldn't get the alignment right. Got only crips cut at one side of the bed... Last week i spend hours of trying en errors.. until i took my time to watch this video a couple of times , take notes and a couple of tries... You are my hero!! It works like a charm now! Crisp cuts all over the bed.. and i have been able to get super settings (power/speed) instead of almost blowing the tube .. thank you , thank you , thank you!!

    Wish I would have seen this a couple days ago. I spent several hours over the last week trying to align my laser after getting it out of storage, where it sat for several years. I finally figured out on my own to align the beam and move the mirror later but for my peace of mind I still needed to verify my theory was correct. I finally found a YT video that did verify it but it was explained so poorly that I would have never understood what he was trying to teach had I not first figured out the procedure for myself. I wasted days using a laser pointer tool that mounted in the head and the tools instructions stated to aim for the middle of the mirrors. After ditching that, I got the alignment pretty close after about an hour, which included undoing some of the things I tried to get it working when I didn't know the correct procedure. If I do understand correctly, you have to start with the first mirror and get it centered to the tube, then use the first mirror to align the beam to the y axis. Then move the second mirror to center on the beam. Then align the beam to the x axis with the second mirror and then move the head to center the beam. I'm not sure how it was suppose to work when using a pointer mounted in the head. It means going in the opposite ordered which doesn't seem to work.

    Your 3rd mirror isn’t aligned then… However it should not be positionally linked if the 2nd and 1st are fine; are you sure it actually hits the same spot in all four corners of your machine. Did you ever solve this issue?

    @@Rock-Licker Everything was aligned perfect, i found out why it happened. My 100W Co2 laser tube had a damage in the lense where the beam comes out. I dont ever have seen anyone talk about this part or mention it, i finally saw it when i zoomed with my Smartphone camera into mirror 1 and then i saw that on the lense of the laser tube that produces the beam was a little spot that wasnt dust or so it was a damage and that resulted to my problem. I was lucky that i saw it after 10 or 11 months later buying the laser so i got a new 100W tube send to me.

    @@13hubi13 Good catch! My lens is also a bit wonky; everything’s aligned and it constantly pushes it to the very bottom left when coming out of the tube; so far no effect on engraving or cutting but it makes it very difficult to do inlay’s (it becomes more noticeable there’s a slight angle on thicker material)

    How do you know which screws to adjust on the mirror mounts please?

  • @GaryMcKinnonUFO

    @GaryMcKinnonUFO

    4 жыл бұрын

    If you adjust them while watching the mount move you'll see which screw does which. From memory, the top screws rotate it left and right around vertical (yaw) and the bottom screw rotates it up and down around the horizontal (pitch), but i haven't done it for a while so it's best to try yourself, you can plainly see how the mount responds when you turn each of the screws. I think this man also has a laser diode attached to the primary mirror so that he can align without firing the laser initially, but i'm only 2 mins in.

    I don't understand, when aligning the 2nd mirror with the head, you start in bottom left position, get your center mark on the tape that's around the laser head, then move it far away, take another test shot, and see how far away that second shot is from the first.. which by what you're saying is test shot 'D'. Why not just now adjust the screws on the second mirror to get that D to match up with the C shot? I don't see a reason to "find A"

  • @Rock-Licker

    @Rock-Licker

    3 ай бұрын

    I know your comment is super old but they won’t match up unless the mirror is aligned in the proper position (the A mark), I thought the same thing at first but they will always be off (albeit you can make the gap lesser because you will be closer to A by shooting for C) because that’s not the true proper alignment of the mirrors. When he shows the sticky notes on his machine this is giving you the visual, the C position is closest to the mirror so it is closer to showing the true alignment of the mirror than D hence why it’s “outside of C” because your 3rd and 2nd mirror aren’t touching there is about a 1/10th distance gap compared to a 10/10 distance gap between D & true alignment
