Monkeying around in Half-Life 2 takes place approximately twenty years after the incident at the Black Mesa Research Facility from the first game, in which scientists accidentally opened a portal to the hostile dimension Xen. The game begins with Gordon Freeman being awoken from stasis and discovering the Black Mesa incident attracted the attention of a multidimensional empire called the Combine, which conquered Earth in seven hours and who have implemented a brutal police state. Gordon arrives at City 17, the site of the Combine Citadel, where Dr. Wallace Breen, the former Black Mesa administrator who negotiated Earth's surrender governs as the Combine's puppet ruler. After arriving at the train station Gordon is attacked by a monkey and awakes in an interrogation room. There he speaks to the boss monkey through a video system where he is recruited to hijack a plane and use it to attack the Citadel. After arriving at the airport Gordon discovers he's unable to enter without wearing a facemask due to Covid-19 restrictions. Clarence the monkey then instructs Gordon to drive to the citadel in a loaned Hatchback Jeep. Gordon then commits a DUI and is nearly arrested before his attorney Saul Goodman happens upon the scene and successfully is able to talk him out of having to perform a field sobriety test. It's then revealed that the attorney was actually Clarence the monkey in disguise. As he's leaving the city, Gordon witnesses a pregnant skeleton assaulting Dr. Judith Mossman and films the skeleton being beaten to death by the police. After traveling outside the city Gordon attempts to dine at Denny's but is unable to enter the building due to a mask mandate. He instead dines at a Cracker Barrel only to be kicked out of the restaurant and then suffers heart failure from his consumption of fried gravy. He awakes after being revived by the boss monkey in a secret rebel science compound which is under siege by Combine police and in order to make an escape is teleported to the Dennys HQ. The CEO of Denny's informs Gordon Freedman that the mask mandate was due to the Combines totalitarian laws and that the only way to rescind it is to crash a Denny's into the Citadel. After completing his mission Gordon Freeman awakes in a void only to be greeted by the boss monkey and Clarence. Clarence is then revealed to have masterminded the Covid-19 restrictions himself as Gordon Freeman pulls a gun on his former comrade and demands answers. Clarence refuses to admit what he had done and Gordon Freeman escapes from the white void only to discover himself to be suffering from auditory hallucinations and causing him to blow himself up with a rocket launcher in desperation. Dacoobers then awakes in his bed where his mother tries to comfort him after a nightmare only for the boss monkey to appear and kill her with a shovel while revealing that the events had all in fact actually happened and urging him to continue the story in Half-Life 2: Episode 1.

Actual cinematic masterpiece. This and its sequels will without a doubt go down in cinema history.

I love how it goes from some random guy who just wanted to play half life 2 episode 1 to witnessing his mother get murder by a freaking monkey with a shovel, awesome story telling.

I'm convinced that Richter wasn't drunk nor high when he got this idea. He's just descended into complete madness. Definitely a video of all time. And I love how Dacoobers hits an invisible wall and discovers that he's in a machinima. He lives in a simulation.
