A beautiful lady performing a beautiful song. Thanks a lot.

A highlight of a remarkable musical evening! A needed reminder today - of the simple beauty of melody and the complexity of emotion encased within if we are but willing to be open to it. I have many memories of this fine orchestra, the University of Utah Philharmonia, but the level of integral beauty we reached with Monika, Shane, Megan, Zeb, and this wonderful Persian song is unparalleled in my experience. Thank you, Monika, for your vision to bring this music to the stage again with orchestra. Although this happened only 2 short months ago, it will remain a special musical memory. Timeless.

Beautiful music. I've always been open to other cultures; and yet I don't believe I've been fair to Persian culture. I think I need to reevaluate everything that I've been taught with regards to Iran and Persian culture.

Recently your " Jaan Maryam" performance is become virall in Iran belive that this was performed recently as well on commemoration anniversary of Professor Maryam Mirzakhani who passed away 2 years back at the age 44. I have outmost respect for both, Dr. Mirzakhani and Ms. Jalili for uplifting the minds and hearts of Iranians, and portraying a classy image for Iranian women. However, the viral clip referenced above had some inaccuracies that I believe tarnishes the importance of the very subject they were writing about. The clip showed Jan e Maryam concert, while claiming it was performed in London, commemorating Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani. As you know, it was performed in Montreal before Dr. Mirzakhani’s death and had nothing to do with her, except similarity with her first name.

Beuatiful but I must say the solo violinist is not doing a good job at all; she does not seem to undrestand Persian melodies in this song and just wanders into some imaginative far away land in the east!
