In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Almost everyone that has appeared on Taskmaster are friends though, the UK has quite a tight-knit comedy community where everyone passes in and out of everyone else's circles by guesting in their sitcoms or being invited on to their panel shows so Josh knew that even if Taskmaster's first series never saw the light of day he would still have a daft and funny tattoo that he could tease Greg with for years to come.

This is an excellent edit. Did one of the show's editors put this together? I usually hate clips that don't show the whole task but this is perfect.
Please do a Taskmaster fan favorite/redemption series where contestants that did not win but were well liked are voted upon by fans and can compete again. Maximum one person from a series. For example, my ideal lineup is: James Acaster Mel Giedroyc Nish Kumar Mike Wozniak Asim Chaudhry Please consider this!

Surely everybody knows that the whole lordship thing was always just a bit of fun, like buying a square foot of the moon or having a star named after you, and it doesn't actually entitle you to style yourself a lord or a lady. I wish people would stop banging on about it. IT'S A GAG. Hell, I've got one, given to me as a jokey gift, and I don't go around demanding that people refer to me as "Your Grace" (although a little deference would be nice). It's still one of the funniest bits ever on Taskmaster: it's a perfect comedy moment - Katherine's delivery, Greg's astonishment and then his leaning all the way into it by insisting on being called "Your Lordship". (And Katherine's calling him "Your Majesty", because she doesn't know different, she's not even British.)
@Charlie59876
Жыл бұрын
it's still advertised as something that it's not, you don't get any land, and you don't get any lordship title or anything, you literally pay £20 or whatever to get a piece of paper. None of the money even goes to charity

Жыл бұрын
to be fair, no one is entitled to call themselves anything. it's all entirely made up and anyone else can just make up whatever else if they want to.
@VanessaMagick
Жыл бұрын
Sadly not. It would be except their advertising (both their own spots and spots done by other people) really try to push the idea that its an actual official loophole. Lots of people do think its actually true. If it was just a gag gift - and its certainly true that just about nobody actually takes being a "lord" or "lady" seriously - it would be fine, but they are intentionally misleading about it.
@krashd
Жыл бұрын
@@Charlie59876 Wrong. You do sponsor a piece of land that you can visit, you also get a title that may not be recognisable by any government or institution but which can only be used with the permission of the clan that gave you it. As a Fraser I could style myself as Lord Robert Fraser of Lovat but since I have never been recognised by my ancestral clan (the Frasers of Lovat) they would have the right to demand that I stop using that title. What Highland Titles have done is made an agreement with the MacDonald's of Glencoe to raise money for their land in return for allowing sponsors of their land to legally use the 'Lord (or Lady) of Glencoe' title. It's a legitimate thing. I have no idea where the "It's all a scam" nonsense came from. An American who has ancestry in both Scotland and England fell in love with Scotland and upon hearing that reforestation efforts here are hampered by the fact that most clan leaders do not have the funds to properly upkeep their lands he came up with a business proposal - he partnered with the MacDonald's of Glencoe to sell (really sponsor) tiny bits of land in exchange for the buyer to style them self as a Lord of Glencoe. 85% of the sale goes to reforesting clan territory and 15% goes to the American. Yes - it's a business, but name me one business where the owner/CEO doesn't make a profit. Highland Titles have won awards for the contribution they have made to reforesting my country and I thank them for it, they have also reintroduced a few species from mainland Europe that had been hunted to extinction in Scotland.

I'd really love a print of Noel's note. It's fabulous!
I don't know if anyone in Taskmaster (including the contestants) will see this, but I think Joe should've got 1st for the prize task. The wording of the prize task said "the most cash", not "the most valued cash". This can be interpreted as being of a higher number of something - like 100 fish is higher than 2 T-Rexes. If that is so, 250 pounds in pennies would somewhere be around 42000 - 45250 pennies and would be definitely higher than the number of bills in the envelope + the 1 check.
