Money Making - Processing Guide Part 3 (BDO)

Heya, in this video we'll take a look at processing profits. I got a storage full of worker materials. We're gonna go through them and figure out how to turn them into silver.
A small correction for the trading section: You would make ~40% more money than selling the mats assuming you run a Value Pack, given the numbers I show.

    Thanks for all the nice comments! I rushed over the trading section a bit. Here's a better breakdown: Setting up and maintaining a crate empire means: - leveling your trade level (the higher the better), which means pouring money into trash crate production - getting +3 workers -> massive time and energy sink. As someone pointed out in the comments, +3 workers are not mandatory for casual trading. Though they mean significant production increases / CP savings. - supplying workshops with crate materials -> keep on processing - managing the crate transport -> NPC transport can handle this if you trade on a small scale - turning in the crates -> Keep in mind that the time invested into these activities could be spent elsewhere to possibly make more money How much can you make from trading? You can use gpw's sheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19ci1AIVa-4wX6n2uTDdqjJqZsVKPeovz1mbqC_-zAWQ/edit Trading is for you if you... - Process a lot and have a fairly progressed account - Can't rely on the marketplace to liquidate materials, for example because you don't run a Value Pack - Simply enjoy running a crate empire :) Trading is not optimal if... - You only process casually or not at all - Locking up silver for weeks/months is undesirable

    A tip for mass transfering, if you have magnus storage and are transfering from main city to main city you can swap alts in thr main cities, move the items into the CM, then switch to the processing location and move them out of CM, this can save a LOT of time especially if you have a ton to xfer, even more if you have the CM weight buff active (think its book of moon)

    Awesome guide mate! Here's one more explanation of why some Ingots and Pure Crystals are expensively out of stock atm. With the Free Tier 9 horse given out, most players are prompted to try out the Tier 10 horses where a censer is needed to be crafted for each attempt which requires either 100 Pure Tin + Copper + Platinum Crystals(or Blue Grade Accessories) making these Crystals, Metal Solvents, Ingots, even Platinum Ores very valuable. It also explains why Carrot Confit and Cinnamon have good values from your previous video. Because there's a crossroad weekly quest where you can exchange 650 Carrot Confits for 2 Mythical Feathers (Tier 10 Mat) which means you'll need 2600 Cinnamons per week. There's no better time than these days to make good profits simply by processing as a horse mat vendor.😂

    I disagree with requiring +3 packing as a mandatory skill for trade crates. Yes it's better to have +3 packing but most people aren't going to be hardcore trading enough to manually transport their crates to Nampo. So people who trade casually can slowly send their crates to Nampo for a lot of easy money. If you don't need the money immediately it seems better to just trade them even if it's for slightly more silver than if you sold to the market. I am surprised you didn't cover cooking in this portion of your processing guide. Specifically cron meals (And draughts for alchemy). If you already own Balenos Meals, Savory Steaks and Sute Teas from cooking and process them into Seafood Cron Meals to use for yourself, you can make 600m/hr from processing them. Yes BDOLYTICS says it doesn't give any processing EXP but I believe it gives cooking EXP as it's processed through simple cooking (although I might be mistaken as I haven't extensively tested this).

  • @summer_rains

    @summer_rains

    9 ай бұрын

    True, I might have overprioritized +3 workers a bit. They used to be much more important on the high CP Grana Workshops and back when margins were smaller. Valencia is much more lenient. If we're talking Cron meals, that's market cooking. Cooking Balenos meals requires extremely high mastery and it's not something I'd just throw out there as an option without also going into the profit calculation side. The video is supposed to cover avenues for using up raw processing materials and bringing a whole discussion about Cron meal profit is way too deep for such a video in my opinion.

  • @jonathandale4681

    @jonathandale4681

    9 ай бұрын

    @@summer_rains That's fair. There's a lot of very profitable things you can do via processing that doesn't come from raw worker mats like Concentrated Magical Black Gems, Krogalo's Origin Stones, Draughts and the mentioned Cron meals but maybe that's deserving of a separate video. And yes +3 packing is much more important in cities that don't have enough workshops to produce enough crates to send on a daily basis. I like to view +3 packing less of how many crates/day my workers can make but more in terms of how much CP they save me by having them or as a way to multiply the number of factories in a city. It's functionally the same thing but I feel like viewing it as multiplying the amount of factories in a city instead of how many crates/day can be made better shows when and where +3 packing is important.

    One thing, you are looking at that site and the "profit" but it's not profit when you are supplying your own materials, it's "Value added". So you can't just go based on the number under profit, nor can you just go by the profit when considering multiple steps (planks or plywood). If you aren't buying materials then each step adds more value (usually), now if it's worth it for the time to do that processing that is another thing. But you can't just go blindly off the profit stat.

  • @summer_rains

    @summer_rains

    9 ай бұрын

    I don't see the disambiguation between 'profit' and 'value added' with respect to deciding whether processing is a worthwhile use of time. Can you elaborate? Could you maybe give a concrete situation where looking at the profit would mislead someone?

  • @Jaradis

    @Jaradis

    9 ай бұрын

    @@summer_rains Sure, when considering if it's worthwhile use of time there isn't much difference. It's not a huge difference but a difference none the less when looking at it. If the base item is flooded on the market and min-listed, you are unlikely to be able to sell it so the cost of just selling it is not being shown in your "profit" but you may not be able to sell it at that price. Fake example: But say Iron Ore was min listed with 10 million ore, but Iron Ingots were not. The 1200 silver per iron ore really should be set to 0 imo when looking at profit per hour, because you likely can't get the 1200 if it never sells. So if you don't process it you likely get 0 silver, if you do process it then you get the full value of the ingots. So looking at just the profit on that site isn't exactly accurate. It's value added, but in this case the base price is actually added too because you never could have sold it at base. I'm not saying it's a huge difference, but something you need to consider based on situation. Sometimes going by a strict "per hour" rate is not the best either. There are items that pay better right now on a per-hour rate but actually take 10x longer to sell, versus certain items I'm selling that have max-priced pre-orders up. So I might be making less per hour but I'm not waiting possibly a week or more to sell all of it, with constantly needing to adjust the listing when I get undercut. There are some items I'm selling that are instantly sold as soon as I post them. And there is a certain item I made, that while highly profitable, is taking two weeks now and only half have sold.

Whether you'd call it added value or profit with respect to the item's value (be that 0 or vendor sale price or market sale price), same thing. In any case, simply looking at the profit on bdolytics doesn't tell the whole story and there are other factors such as sale volume to be taken into consideration.
