Just an incredibly understated, overlooked musician. He is in a class of guitar players who just don't play they make their guitar speak, Slowhand, Beck, Page, Young, Gilmor, Prince. Even if I don't care for a song, I can isolate their guitar and it's all good.

Some say thats allot of cash, because it is a lot of cash, the promoters are giving it to both us and the artist. I admire you for putting your passion above cost. Basic needs aside extra money goes to conveniences and not basic needs. I have about 25 years left giving the average lifespan. It doesn't make sense to leave anything in the garage. I say run the tires off it and invest in a memory., and pray like hell you don't have a stroke and lose your investments.

That opening guitar riff is one of the most recognizable, and yet one of the most intricately difficult in all of rock history. 99% of the people who attempt to cover it on KZread or at a little concert do it wrong.

Whoever you are,,when you say “ Nothing “ do you mean that there’s nothing special about it ? Are you a musician?? Or are you So f-cking fantastic that it’s easy for you?? Do you just not talk music With non-musicians, or “girls “???? ( I’ve probably spent many more years around music in my life than you) but that’s not important. It’s Been awhile or I’d ask a friendly Face. It’s been awhile also since I worked in the industry, with Ruffino-Vaughn Productions out Of NY , Though your apparent attitude is not that surprising it is annoying….. Or I could be wrong and you’ve only text one word replies. But Reply you did…. Maybe a friendlier musician or Music fan can offer a more detailed explanation And/Or opinion . Several guitar players and drummers here expressed opinions reflecting on how unusual or difficult the intro

@@Joao-id4dn that's a bold statement joao just the back in black album seems riff loaded and dependant, my favorite was noise pollutiion riff. Eliminator comes to mind as well my pick was i got the six!!! Blizzard of oz followed by madman all the way to end of decade would also seem riff laced good example is bark at moon or course crazy train which possibly is as recognizable a riff ever created, i really don't know much of glam rock or pop but mabey that brand didn't rely on riffs actualy billy jean had an eddy van riff which also brings in all van halens 80s work , didn't Panama have a riff oh also all the staggering work from aerismith good example is when the lightning strikes or hangman jury or choose your favorite.. I don't know a decade that opened with blizzard of oz and ended with açpetite for destruction seems difficult to imagine a decade where guitar riffs were dead they say long live rock

@@iomibestlefty ok, you have a point. I never thought of the songs you mentioned as defining the 80s, these hard rock bands seemed more like a sideshow to me , the center stage being occupied by pop artists like The Police, U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, etc. But maybe thats just because i was not much into hard rock .

Question: What guitar is Knopfler playing here? Is it a Kramer? or did other brands make guitars without the tuning knob end of the neck? I have seen Eddie plays one in the 5150 of VH era. If anyone knows I would appreciate it ! Thanks
