Monday Live with Richard Smith

Ойын-сауық

(Please hit the subscribe button to comment live. Links at murielanderson.com/now) Brilliant guitarist from England, Richard Smith, joins me this week. As a youth, he learned everything Chet Atkins ever recorded, then learned everything Django ever recorded. He's often toured with Tommy Emmanuel, the hot club of Nashville, and his wife Julie Adams. I hope you also join me next Monday, 6pm CDT!

Nice to see classically trained guitarists to expand to this genre of music.

I became aware of Richard Smith, Jim and Morning Nichols and Martin Taylor at an All Star Guitar Night you hosted in Los Angeles. Let's see I brought my then 15 year old son to the event and he is now 36 I think. So it was quite a while back.

Richard, Jim & Morning, and Muriel are almost always at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society in Nashville every year.....alot of fun if you can afford the tariff. 😊

Richard Smith needs to play Navy Blues, this IMHO is the most under rated Reed song.

I met Muriel in Mellerud, Sweden some years ago. Great guitarist. I went to see my friend, Claes Neeb, we lost him back in 2013, still miss him. Hope I get to see Richard live some day. He's in a league of his own.
