Oh damn... It's here! I've been running my Mk2 with a third-party SPC cable too. The stock Mk2 and Mk3 cables are already SPC, but I'm not entirely sure of the actual construction. I think Thieaudio's cable needs to be improved generally, so I definitely agree with you on that. Excellent vid!

This guy is the coolest, I am glad I found the channel. the stock faceplate is the best looking one in my opinion but its super cool you can chose different ones.

Nice review Jordan. I'm excited to hear about the Hype2 next week. In regard to the fit of the Mk3, I was looking at Dan's Audio Reviews community section, and he has some pictures side by side with the Mk2. The Mk3 actually looks a lot thicker than the Mk2. Interesting that you find the Mk3 more comfortable. If you ever get a chance to compare to the Mk2 in person, I'm curious what you'd think.

I will compare it with mk2 in upcoming gathering. Haha.. i think the size of the bore matters. Mk2 is very fat/thick. Thickness wise, not sure why.. it doesn't protude as much as mk2 out from my ears. Haha

The spc cable effect audio cadmus which version? the 4w version or 8w version? I too own monach mk3 and i feel the two DD lack that punch, you do feel it tho the mid bass but i some how feel it can do better with more punch like you were talking about.

You're a great reviewer! Good job! I've been considering these as my next IEM upgrade, but I was wondering, how much do they leak sound outside of your ears? I mostly use my IEMs at my job in an office, so it's really important that the sounds are staying inside the IEMs, so that I don't bother my co-workers.

Hey Jordan...I would be interested to know what is the impedance characteristics of the cable you using vs the stock cable. Those specs will explain what you are experiencing as it is the relationship between the cable and IEM DCR.... Inductance and Capacitance which will change the sound. Nice review!

Hi Tony, dont have the rig to do measurement for the cable, can only try one by one, see which suits better.

Speaking of cables, try the fiio lc-rd pro, very well made and clean sounding high-purity monocrystalline pure silver cable. They made my campfire andromeda 2020 sound much better than the stock cable. At $150 I suspect the cable competes with even kilobuck cables. mmcx only iems though

Nice.. I really liked the Og Monarch looks. Og Monarch have that mid bass tuck issue, any cable that can helps in this aspect is great. For example, there is a cable name Equalizer from "NotBrand" works fantastic on it. Or u may just get a spc cable like QoA Rum or Effect Audio Cadmus.

Z1R has waaaaay better bass, but mids kinda too recessed and bit too trebley for me. Quite heavy to wear too. Love MK3 more in everyway, except the bass.

Is the price jump from Xenns Top worth? Was thinking of copping the xenns top then i heard about the mk3

Top is a tad bright. But has very good technicalities. Mmk3 is thick and definitely non-sharp, yet retain a lot of technicalities. And far superior bass response.

Ya.. saw a lot of people using Cadmus on mk2. My cadmus modded to flush 2pin, unable to fit the mk3... Noooooooooo. All along they doing flush port, suddly they do half recessed. >. Been pairing with Liquid link conti, not my taste. Qoa Rum is alright. Maybe will lookout for more option. Haha

I was going to get the xenns top but is the price difference justified for how much better the monarch mk3 are or is the xenns top at 530$ a better deal?

I think personally i think Top is good enough at that price. Anything more than that is kinda diminishing return. Unless u have lots of money. Haha

Hey, couple questions, can btr5 drive them? And is it worth getting if I'm only going to use it with stock tips? I've large ears.

I dont think the BTR5 can drive it very well. It has 10 drivers, with EST some more. Might not be able to get the full potential it has. I never use the stock tips, haha.. and i tip roll alot. I think everyone having different shapes, cant advice much. They do have large size eartip of course.

@@jordanng5428 I've Mangird Tea 2 it has 7 drivers BAs and DD and this runs really efficiently on my BTR5 so are EST drivers not easy to drive? MMK3 has 99db at 20ohm sensitivity which aren't that efficient numbers but I've heard some people use MMK3 with dongles as well what amps have you used it with and how much power do you give them? I'm confused because on the product page they say MMK3 is for commuting and portable use.

@@beyondtheuniverse999 Hi5.. I have the Tea2 too, loves it. Haha.. I always believe that more power will give the iem more headroom to shine. I am using N7+ XD05 Bal 2 to drive it and carry it around in backpack. Tremendous amount of power here. I think you can get one first. Snd consider on changing the BTR5 if it really dont drive it well. 😝

Try Flash Acoustic Blaze but quite pricey. Toxic Eddie silver cable is kinda good too. Orrrrr.. Vortex Seraphina. Oops.. again all of them are quite expensive. Spc from Plussound is also good for price to performance. XD

@@CoffeeXmusic Ah.. i have both cable. Evua 2 make the vocal super forward on Mk3 and reduce a bit bass in return. Ceres add bit of stage and detail but i dont its matching on Mk3 though, cuz mk3 problem with stock is the bass.

I’m finally gonna order the monarch mkiiis. Right now I have the Sennheiser ie300. So I was thinking of getting a cable with interchangeable connectors and terminations. The CODE 24C LIMITED from effect audio matches everything I want. What do you think? Is there a better option at this price point or should I just go with this one?

Yo bro.. I'm not a fan of any senny iem. Just not very musical to me. Some too boomy some too technical. Ie600 is a bit sharp to my ears too and lacking in bass.

Not for me. But might be a little for some people if they are sensitive. It has quite a lot of bass to compensate the treble anyway.

Yup.. was using the RUM cable.. its nicer than the stock. And now moved on to Liquid Linkd Evua 2, which bring the vocal slightly forward to my liking.

@@jordanng5428 The problem with the MK.3 is that it does't have the dynamic impact or punch (I completely agree with you). Since I listen to mostly electronic music, that punch is so impotant to me.. If the Rum does't do it for me. What IEM do you recommend with good bass punch? I used to have the Clairvoyance and that packed a very good punch but it's discontinued :(

@@Dryskelol the bass is not as prominent on the evua2, spc have more bass than it. But with the reduced bass, its not as overwhelming as before (which i like).

Luckily I was also watching on the Bloom Audio channel, so I could tell that the MK3 only changed the shape of the housing. Even Bloom Audio confirmed that the MK3 is bigger and thicker than the MK2.. 😅

Haha.. sorry for late. I manage to get hold of a MK2 from a friend. His one is flater and smaller. And it was different with the Mk2 when it was just released. I did owned a Mk2 and it was definetely not flat like the current one does. Even Linsoul official video showing comparison of size, they said mk3 is smaller (cuz they are comparing against the old Mk2) I guess they had a silent revision. hahaha

@@jordanng5428 May be. But whatever it is, if it's bigger than the revised MK2, then I'll definitely skip MK3. Because the MK2 that I bought 2 months ago still feels a little too big for me. I'm considering replacing it with a U4S or SA6 MK2. And TBH, I would never trust a reviewer who doubles as a seller. It's nothing more than marketing bullshit..

Different in tonality. U12T is more mellow. MK3 is balanced to me. U12T Bass is waaaaaaaay better than Mk3. How i wish i can migrate the bass from u12t to mk3. But i like the mids and treble of mk3 more, YMMV. Detail retrieval is better on U12T. Imaging and staging score equal i guess.
