The design of the crane was fine. The problem was the operator.

My sister gave my 4 year old daughter one of those karaoke microphones and some how it disappeared. Just vanished. Weird!!

👍🏼 Smart parent! I’ve also restricted when, where and for how long they could play with the most obnoxious ones. Those toys made great rewards for exceptionally good behavior. “Thanks for offering to help Grandma today. You can play with Talking Barney in the garage for five whole minutes!” 🤣

One of the worst clips on here. There’s a bunch of older people, but no adult in the room. If you have no control over your child, then you are a parental failure. I hate parents who allow their children to do anything the please. Reminds me of the nine-year-old soccer team at a local pizzeria. One kid gets the brilliant idea of bending a fork in half a dozen times till it breaks. Next thing you know, the whole team is destroying tableware and the parents sit at the next table as if nothing is happening.

I loved every second of this video! How you guys get cameras on all these disasters and then pull them together to make these types of videos is pretty amazing, but thanks so much for the effort. Videos like this always brighten up the day.

Pure stupidity in many of them.... but it creates a laugh.

It baffles me, the number of cranes you see where the jib breaks, or the crane tips over, because it was grossly overloaded. FORTY YEARS ago, I worked for a company which made crane safe load indicators to warn crane drivers WELL before they reached that point. Are a lot of crane makers not fitting such devices? Or are stupid crane drivers deliberately ignoring them?

Reminds me of a story told by a friend. She was give a lift by another woman to some sort of event 50 miles from home. The car owner's boy won a recorder in a competition, and was 'playing' it all the way home . . . though he hadn't got a clue about recorders, or music . . . My friend said if he'd been her son, either the boy or the recorder would have travelled home in the boot (trunk)!

5:10 I think its safe to assume thats an airbase they're on. Is there really nobody there that has a rough idea where the center of gravity is on that jet? This is something they HAVE to know before flying it. I would assume the same principles apply when lifting it with a crane.

The accident had nothing whatsoever to do with the jet's center of gravity. The crane's outriggers sank into soft ground, causing the crane to dump it prematurely, too far back on the display pylon, resulting in the jet tipping backward.

You find out weight (add 40% to claimed weight) then check reach, angle.. then decide if worth a hundred thousand in repairs, someone injured to push limits. Or if getting 10’ closer. I expected truck to back up, & crush those red carts.

@larrythompson8630 - over 40 years ago, an English company I worked for made a device called the Wylie Safe Load Indicator. It didn't rely on crane drivers looking at charts and doing arithmetic; it was all done by a cam box fitted onto the jib. Through a box of electronics, this drove a huge twin-needle meter in front of the driver (and easily visible, even when he was watching the slinger). The black needle showed the load, the red needle (driven by the cams) showed the safe limit, automatically adjusting as the jib was luffed in or out, or a tele jib was extended / retracted. All the driver had to do was to keep the black needle to the left of the red needle. If he got within about 15% of the safe limit, an alarm sounded; if he got within 10%, the move was stopped - and interlocks meant he could only lower the load (if it was a weight problem), or luff in (if it was a tipping risk), but he couldn't continue the unsafe move. The indicator also allowed for the differences between working on blocks or 'free on wheels', and whether or not a fly jib was fitted, and whether it was retracted or extended, and whether the load was on the fly jib or the main.

Somebody needs to quit lying to that kid about how well they can sing! Honesty is the best policy! Do not encourage your kids about something they're terrible at, or not even really talented at, because the truth always comes out and it'll be harder on them hearing the truth after being lied to all that time. Put your foot down with the kid and don't let them get away with torturing everyone! How stupid can people be? There's a whole lot of people who need to be fired and some need to be sued too! She's like 4 or 5 years old. Just because she sings and isn't given a middle finger to her face doesn't mean that she intends to pursue a career in singing. There's like a 90% chance that she forgot the microphone even existed after a month. Let a kid be a kid, just don't be stupid enough to give a kid, someone who is already naturally interested in being loud, an amplifier.

I'm so emotionally fragile right now, I had to stop watching at 1:38. I just gotta dip out.
