Not for modeling though. Terrible hair and make-up. Aged her 20 yrs. Great for family or yearbook... not professional modeling

Stylistic preferences differ. The important thing is that there were multiple phot choices and the defendant chose that photo as part of the package. So whether it's actually stylistically good or not is a moot point.

I used to work for Lifetouch and I had a parent who HATED every picture I took. During the shoot, they said, "Cant you take a good picture?!" and I said, "I just take the photo, you made the kid."

The people who always try and walk up to JJ, have they never seen any of the show!?

It's her manipulation tactic. When someone criticizes her or she doesn't get her way, the "Oh, tee-hee-hee, I'm just a silly, bubble-headed mom, go easy on me because I'm so cute" act usually pulls her through.

@@L.Spencer I charge way less and I get shoots regularly. And I do graduation/senior photos. Batch editing makes things much quicker. Definitely not saying it should be free or anything of the sort.

Her hair has a natural red tinge and the photos weren't edited yet. In the edited photos, the daughter's hair looks exactly as it does in real life. The fuzziness is because the camera focused on her face, not her hands. It was a "vignette" that may or may not have been successful. But, when doing a shoot, not every pose/photo looks perfect. That's why the photographer did so many.

Exactly my hair has a natural red tinge. I have photos taken of me on the same day and in some I look blonde and in others my hair looks red, it depends how the light hits my hair.

Anyone who shoots professionally knows that there is almost never any photo that doesn't need to be adjusted. Add to that the matter of immaturity, personal taste and irrational vanity and narcissism and you have a perfect storm for conflicts of taste. This is why I NEVER work for others ever. I create work and sell them directly.

I'm an artist and I've dabbled in photography, and I agree with you 100% The photos were beautifully taken, I didn't find any fault in them

The blur in front of the subject is absolutely a desired effect for artistic photography. The pictures are gorgeous IMHO, easy to work out the red by duplicating the layer, lowering the saturation then erasing the lowered saturation layer from the rest of the photo. Love those photos.

It's hard to see JJ and the mom criticize those lovely pictures. Shooting through leaves is common and artistic.

I hate that mother. "This is horrible" in reference to a picture of her daughter's hair color 💔

And the worst part about it is that she's teaching her daughter to be just as awful and especially vain. The pictures are fine. Her parents spent $1,000+ on pics that she probably won't look at again in another year. Have to wonder about dad. Is he actually supportive of this insanity, or does he just want out?

The blurred effect looked good. It's a perspective and layering effect. Give the idea you're looking at the subject outside at a glance through some trees. I don't see the complaint considering it's just one of many and that picture is a little more unique.

It’s insane to spend $1200 for a kid’s high school picture!!! Do it yourself for under $10 with a cell phone and CVS kiosk!

I have done senior portraits for many years. Two observations. One if someone writes you a bad check, as this essentially is, you take it to law enforcement since doing so is committing a fraud. In our jurisdiction the Sheriff will handle it with no hassles on your part. 2) The photographer doesn't need clients like this. They are nasty, mean and hard to deal with. Too many people are happy with what you do for you to have to deal with fools like that.

A check cancellation isn’t the same thing as writing a bad check. It’s not a crime hence why they are in civil court.

When people approach JJ, I just want to use a spray bottle and be like "AHT AHT!!"

Who has senior pictures like that ? When I was in high school all the guys had a choice of 3 tuxedo jackets and shirts and ties to put on( which ever fit) for the picture, then you took it off and the next guy put it on , the girls had a choice of 3 formal dresses that they slipped on and when done the next girl put it on.

It depends. At many schools, the ones that are contracted by the school for the yearbook have a more standard/uniform look like you described. However, parents also hire photographers to do photoshoots for upcoming proms, graduations and such. I have been out of high a long time, and my parents paid for a photoshoot when I graduated from high school. Many of my cousins’ parents did too. Have you seen the graduation pictures that have big numbers of the graduation year as props?

I've been a professional photographer for over 25 years. There is nothing glaringly bad about these photos. I thought they were going to be terrible based on what the mother was claiming but when they finally showed the photos I realized that Mom was just insane.

I’m a photographer. The one where they alleged is blurry is questionable. If she is sharp and the background out of focus, that’s normal and supposed to be that way.

All the photos look great. Shes gorgeous wow ❤

This is a preview of how the mother is going to act, if not worse, when her daughter gets married. Oh gosh can you imagine the hell she’s gonna cause? 😮

My senior pictures back in 1983 where taken at Sears. I only had my picture taken for the year book at the studio.

The photo looks fine to me.

Karen printed the emailed pictures and the colors are not going to be correct. The DPI is not the same and when RED is in the picture an inkjet home printer is going to tint everything else. None of the other pictures provided by the photographer had issues with red hair.

I don't get why JJ keeps talking to the plaintiff like she is an amateur photography. She clearly know what she is doing and seems to have a pretty good business model. The defendant is just someone who will never be happy. She feels like her daughter is the most gorgeous being on Earth and will nitpick everything with the photos. Poor dad has to deal with her on a daily basis.

All of the "final" pictures look really good.

A former coworker is a photographer, and we all agree that people like the mom and her family are the absolute WORST types to deal with. Outside of being annoyingly picky about everything, they want the final products “to look at” before paying, and then all of sudden half the work isn’t good enough for them. It’s similar to what I deal with as an artist. Someone wants a drawing specifically, and then when the final piece is revealed, they suddenly decide they practically want the whole piece redone again (e.g. “I like it, but maybe now do the pose like this instead, do these colors, and make me look ???”). Like nah, that’s what you asked for, that’s what you’re paying for, that’s what you’re getting.

They pretend to not like the photos. The photos are what they wanted to have. You cannot decide not to pay in retrospect. They wanted to get it for free.

Photography is art. Art is subjective. Next time do your research before hiring someone.

Judge Judy doesn't understand F-Stops... Those pictures were fine, the "blurry" is fine and extremely common.

This sounds like a whole waste of money. When we and my sister had seinor pictures our parents didn't pay no professional photographer they had cameras and took our pictures and call it a day.
