Wow I am a senior. Until I was 7 my mother did not work outside the home. She never cooked breakfast. We might get a piece of toast in morning. Once a week on the weekends when Dad was home she would make oatmeal for breakfast. Pop tarts were maybe once a month and mother was in heaven when they were created. We would each get one. Mother never made lunch. We waited until dinner. We never knew other children were fed 3 meals/day. When we went to school we had lunch. We liked that best meal all day. I still only eat light in morning and dinner. Habit I guess. It amazes me how you joyfully cook 3 meals/day. Nutritious full of nutrients and make sure your children are full. You are industrious and organized in meal planning. I am so impressed.

My mom never picked me up for school from my grandmother’s house, I was 8. Living with my dad, I learned how to cook. I did the grocery shopping around 10, my grandmother would do hers and I did mine. My dad would give me 30.00. This would have to last one month. We didn’t have a car, my dad never had a drivers license..I could go on and on. I have two girls, grow now. Feeding and cooking is my love language.

Here in the UK we make a similar meal but with mashed potatoes on top of the meat. If you use lamb it’s called Shepherds Pie and if using beef it’s called Cottage Pie. We add onions and carrots to the mix. Yum.

Your kids will grow up appreciating all you do or did for them as children, how lucky they are to have a mom that does all you do. I'm sure they appreciate it now, but these things will always be special to them. Again, thanks for sharing😊

Some stay at home moms get really bogged down by the mundane tasks like doing dishes or laundry, but I have learned to value these types of jobs the most. Having physical work to do is a blessing to our mind and body. I agree with you that we have to, keep our perspective about them in the right place. It is a blessing to serve our families for Christ.

We do that, too - take a roast and cook it with Rotel tomatoes, and lots of taco seasonings. Then I shred it, and mix it with the juice, and make some enchiladas to put in a pan to bake, and put the rest of 'em in the freezer. Then on nights we want enchiladas, all I do is get the frozen ones out, top with some enchilada sauce & cheese, and bake them!! Delicious way to use roasts!! (PS - love your videos, but the music is too loud, and I have to turn it way down, and then I can hardly hear you.)
