I feel for you! Every time I have take my 2 boys (ADHD & ODD) to their doctor, they make me feel like I'm not doing part as a disabled, widow mom! I'm very old school, my kids don't have phones/computers/tablets/etc and they won't until they get jobs and pay for them themselves! You're a great mom and doing a great job❤

Dr's have a way of making us feel less than vs giving support. It's a real shame.

Yes wreck the playroom please lol that means my decor and other areas get left alone. 🤣 All the Dr's stress me out ! All different opinions and every appt is something different but hopefully we can get all on the same page and a game plan for going forward🤞

Exactly Jessie, nobody should judge how people raise their kids. Doctors do not need to tell parents how to raise their kid. That's not their job, and they shouldn't be handing out unasked for advice. You are doing a great job with Malcolm. He's a happy little boy. Dinner looked delicious minus the peas. Lol

Being born in the 60’s, things are definitely different…I think technology has exacerbated our awareness of problems in the world, and I guess some of the dark things on the web are people taking advantage of innocense. Sounds like you have a good balance, so just keep it going. Just do the things with Malcolm that you did as a child when things were simpler, hands on. You’re doing good!

That's my approach pretty much! I grew up with the internet so I am aware bit I don't think it's the devil. Also he will be expected to know how to use electronics in school! I realized he didn't know how to even swipe or use it and I didn't want him to be behind on it either 🫣

You know, im so tired of drs and folks in general, blaming everything on social media or extreme access to it. Or the assumption that everyone has access to it. You should ask the dr to watch your channel, or send him all the clips at the table eating. If you don't live in my home or know my routine, what gives you the right to question or make assumptions? Im so tired of that attitude. You know you're doing the right thing, just keep on keeping on. 😊😊

Nice video. I’m with you on the Doctor thought. I too, have kids who are spaced out in age. All of the questions and suggestions from the Dr can be overwhelming. Just be confident in what you’re doing (which you seem to be❤️) and don’t let it stress you too much. You’re doing great. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! I'm sitting there nodding like .... I have 2 great references on my mothering resume 🤣 I mean there are some differences from 2004 to 2021 carseats, no cosleeping, cribs, no water before 6m etc that I adapted to because you go with the latest science but some old school things like going outside, exercise, reading actual books, eating dinner as a family are kinds a no brainer to me 🤷‍♀️

Happy Friday Jessie! You are doing a fabulous job with Malcolm! My daughter hears the same thing! And funny thing is, her girls only get 15 minutes of screen time. She is very hands on with the girls and her baby boy. She gets so frustrated! You are such a great mom! Even when you are filming you talk to Malcolm or interact with him. I had a hard time hearing today so I hope I’m in the right area of conversation. lol. Our son is going thru a divorce and he’s currently staying with us. He’s a deputy and works 4p to 4 a. So I’m trying to be quiet this morning. Have a great weekend girl!! Take care❤

My 2 boys were late talkers never had speech therapy you would never know it they speak perfectly and both successful, I don’t get it, what problems can an adult have being a late talker? They catch up

  • @JessieOnTheGoinMD

Some kids just start talking later and have no issues . With my older son it was articulatation and processing delay so he needed the experts. We are figuring out Malcolm now but I did see how hard it was for my older son to make friends in primary school with his speech issues. You would never know he had speech impediments talking to him now! I owe a lot to speech therapist for him. I don't want Malcolm to have a disadvantage starting prek with not being able to communicate with his peers properly. It breaks your heart!! So we are pursuing every avenue to make sure he can be the best he can be. My daughter was talking full sentences and bossing everyone around at 1 year old so I know all kids are different and have different needs 🤣

Jessie, stop fretting about what a doctor tells you. A mother knows her children the best. You have already raised two and no one needs to tell you how to do it. Chunky??? He is far from that. I would be more concerned if a toddler didn’t have a little fluff. They need this to grow. Keep doing you as Malcolm looks like a happy, healthy child to me.

He is definitely happy and healthy! I don't think he is chunky either - certainly solid and sturdy!
