As a US Army retired combat veteran I’m so grateful that the NFL took the lead to research mTBI with the military to research how these head traumas affect soldiers and football players alike. The symptoms are the same as ptsd. Suicidal ideations are very real with head traumas.

My son played soccer. Got injuries too. But he decided to quit and is now playing football and he is in highschool. He is big and tall. So I enrolled him in a gym where they also teach moves on how to prevent injuries. He plays defense/offense. Every game we pray for his safety and protection. Mama bear supports what he wants. ❤

this kid at my high school died a few months ago from playing football. his name was Carlos Strong. i personally didn't know him, but i had friends who did and ive seen him around. good guy. its a shame what happened to him, he was too young. i stopped playing after that. i realized that the football industry is extremely corrupt. Carlos told the coach his head hurt and he didn't want to play, but his coach didn't care and sent him back on the filed anyway, needless to say after one more small hit he was out cold and pronounced dead at the hospital he was a sophomore and didn't deserve what happened to him, not at that age. be smart,dont support football, this stuff happens everyday. (in case your wondering im 14, freshman)

Most people call soccer football and i was very confused when they said people pushing people down in football

I've played football for all my life since I was three working on footwork and proper spins I've torn my mcl my hamstring and hyper extended my leg and I still play to this day I'm in 8th and still strong

I can play rugby which is basically the same thing but with less protection and now one cares about if we get injured and the dangers

jsh u dont use padding on ur entire body im soccer bc its not neccessary. In football there are head to head/ body to body hits. In soccer the only way u can really get injured is by headers or slide tackles. Since i didnt dont watch much soccer, i did my research on the topic and found that football injuries are much much much severe than soccer injuries. Just look at messi. Hes like 5"3 120lbs and is able to play soccer. In football he would literally die, no exaggeration. I played both and i can tell u football is much more punishing than soccer. I suffered from nearly 5 concussions, broken tibia, and about 6 broken fingers over the span of 6 years of football. In soccer i sprained my ankle like 3 times. Thats it. Theres a reason why all the small kids play soccer and big kids play football.

Because they were not coached correctly and there in lies the big problem. I played in High School and I did not let my sons play growing up and guess what...they played other sports and got to college on a scholarship that they earned with the hard work and study.

My little brother played from jr peewees -freshman year of high school. Never once in the hospital or seriously hurt. He just wanted more time to hang out with friends. My husband played the same amount of time . He though didn’t want to play anymore because his mom past away his freshman year. Let your kids play for as long as they want as long as they keep their grades up

The dad at 6:08 made just the most accurate statement. If you don't want injuries happening to your kids you shouldn't let them play any sport. But is THAT healthy? No! Don't forget about the positive aspects of football: Fitness, coordination, discipline and tactical thinking (football is one of the most tactical demanding sports, like chess on the field). The game is getting safer, so give this great sport a future!

I never heard of any other Football until I met someone from a different country. And you've gotta be totally uncoordinated to get a concussion from a marching band!😂
