It amazes me how people seem to believe that the entire legal system is suddenly designed to explicitly benefit them at any given moment. Trauma is bad in itself but it seems to me that it has a special impact when it's directly involving a mother, the naturally most reliable and obvious foundation for a childs trust and security. Being behind in child support doesn't give a parent the right to withhold visitation. Family court judges do not take children being used as pawns lightly. It pisses them off big time.

But by doing so he's only enabling that lady that smacked him to not only have no consequences for her actions but to continue to escalate her out of control delusional behavior playing the victim justifying her violent actions. I get why he did it but I definitely disagree with it. By not pressing charges he didn't do anyone any favors. She was charged for the lighter charges but not assault.

I sadly know people who were in that position. They stayed with their alcoholic/abusive parents to be a sort of protector for their younger siblings. that’s heartbreaking to me.

As a single dad for two teenage girls, I know it is a struggle to keep a job and raise your kids right. This woman is an example of how bad life can get when adults act like toddlers. She should not be allowed to care for children. This is so sad.

Bless you, sir. My dad raised me too. My mother was physically and emotionally abusive and he saved my life.

Her voice alone would have been reason enough for me to head the opposite direction.

Listening to her spewing nonsense on and on on the officer explained why she’s no longer with her husband. She has a serious problem controlling her emotions and rationality.

About 18 to 20 years ago she probably acted like sugar wouldn't melt in her mouth and like a saint of a woman in order to get her hooks into the poor sucker that married her. Maybe he already knew before the wedding and done it because she was pregnant and thought he was doing the right thing, maybe he kept staying with her for the kids and in the mean time she kept trapping him with more kids? It's scary thou once these narcissistic monsters get their hooks into you how quickly they flip the switch and you see the real them. Dad needs to get full custody of those kids and make that horrible mother pay him child support!

Cop was gaslighting. He only asked if she would get out of the car and didn't take no for an answer. He led the kid to believe that she had denied his command. Semantics, I know, but there's a real difference. Requests and Demands are not the same, despite what a cop believes. Asking implies a choice, commands do not.

​@conscientiousobserver8772 being requested means they're asking you nicely for you to willingly comply, not that they're giving you the freedom to refuse and not face any consequences. The choice is being given here is "willingly get out, or be dragged out and face legal consequences", just like if a store requests for you to leave, they aren't saying "well if you want to leave, leave", they're saying "you can leave willingly, or we'll kick you out".

@@dotnet97 Obviously. You will note that cops have a plan they follow: Ask, Command, Then Act. Happens all the time, and they even tell the person, particularly at traffic stops. "First, I'm _asking_ you to step out of the vehicle."_ _"Next, I'm going to command you to step out."_ _Finally, I'm going to remove you from the vehicle."_ Honestly, when a cop asks, it's just a facade. The cop knows it, you apparently know it, and this woman acted like she didn't.

She's so out of her mind, she STILL thinks it's about her ex after she assaulted several restaurant employees. WOW

When these psychopaths get something on their mind however irrelevant to the situation they cannot drop it. She brings up how she’s been wronged in the past like it has relevance to current situation. She thinks if she’s right about an incident from ten years ago that means she’s right now and cops got to let her go. She wants to let out her whole divorce issues and 99% of them aren’t germane to what’s happening now.

Cop did an amazing job explaining it to her son. Made it very clear that the mom was in the wrong while also giving a bit of a lesson. Great job.

I like that the first thing the Officer did was to go and explain things for the son and make him calm.

The son being so understanding of the situation sadly shows that he knows that his mama is a little whacky. If there was truly a problem with dad, he would have said so. Not just let the officer take her. The mom just zipped up and didn’t want to say anything. The officer was willing to listen. Poor kid. Why can’t parents do what’s best for the children? It breaks my heart. I’m divorced now, my ex and I are still friends. We spend the holidays with our children ( adults now )just because we couldn’t be married anymore, the kids were our priority. We didn’t divorce them. Don’t have children, if you can’t put them first. 😡😡😡

The appropriate place to handle child support issues is family court NOT acting crazy in front of your child and restaurant patrons. The Officer took no bs from her. Good for him.

Could you imagine dealing with the struggles of being a 13 year old boy with autism and also have this woman as your caretaker. God bless.

Its crazy because I’m sure the first years of the relationship were blissful then the children came depression set in anxiety and then untreated leads to this. But in this case i feel very bad for the kids and the ex

All he had to do was tell the lady the reason why he needed her to get out of her car 🚗 Instead of the cop 👮‍♀️ looking at the video tape He chose to believe the ex-husband and the people in the bar.
