@@apriljohnson421 Youve never had a golden. They look like that when they’re relaxing. If he was annoyed he wouldnt be lying down and would simply get up and leave. The owner wouldnt be able to keep him lying down for the camera if the golden wasnt in the mood. Speaking from experience, they do what they want for the most part

@@emeralddragon2980 I'm sure Bailey loved every minute of it...but I'm just going by how much I love having kitties swarming all over me. 😻 I used to foster for a rescue that no longer operates, and I got mamas and their babies all the time. Let's just say that there were ALOT of foster fails. 🥰

Our cat's kittens would do that with our St Bernard. They'd drape themselves all over him and he'd look up at us beseechingly like, "Help!"

It's fascinating to me how deliberate the mother cat's actions are - she is determined to make the golden retriever smell as close to her as possible. This tells me that she trusts the dog 100%.

Also she lays with her belly right in front of his mouth and then turns her head away, it takes a lot for a cat to expose themselves like that they must have grown up together.

She's trying to mix scents 🤣. That's so adorable and it works. Pretty soon the kittens will realize "You smell like our mommy, you have to be a friend"

@@blueshorecreative3146 They can absolutely tell the difference but the scent of the dog on their mother and their mother's scent on the dog will re-enforce in their minds that the dog is not a threat. Not sure what "Telling the difference" has to do with scent markers. 🤪

A stray kitten showed up a few months ago and I didn’t know what to do. I have a 140lb Great Dane/American Bulldog mix named Jester that had never been around cats yet alone such a tiny kitten. I thought he might eat or step on her but to my surprise and honestly relief he’s been so gentle with her. The two have become the best of friends so I guess now we have a cat 😳. We named her Lilith

Great name for your cat. Also, I think Danes are so beautiful! When I was in 5th grade, a bunch of mean girls made my life miserable and they all got to talking about what is the ugliest dog breed? Well they decided on Great Dane, so the rest of the year they just called me Great Dane. Once I researched for myself to see what a Great Dane looked like, I took the name they chose for me as a compliment. 🐾💜

Such a sweet moment between some of God’s most loving and beautiful creatures.

"Look, kids, here is our friend Bailey. Look at all this fur Bailey has! Come cuddle in the warmth of Bailey's fur, you'll love it! There ya go, you guys have fun. Bailey, I'll be back in a couple of hours. Thanks a bunch!" Mama cat heads off to the spa.

I love how he pretends to tolerate them, but we all know he secretly loves them!😆

She is a very happy mom.

Cats are also communal brooders- babysitting is a big thing among groups of mama cats who trust each other. They’ll often all have babies at the same time and let their friends watch their babies- that’s why they’ll sometimes put their babies on their favorite humans. Mama cat has recruited this puppo to help babysit!

That’s interesting because when I was little my cat had kittens in the woods behind our house, the next day she brought them into the house and I fell asleep in the room with them and woke up to find a tiny kitten on my chest! I was so scared of what would have happened if I had turned over in my sleep but it’s sweet to know that mama trusted me with her baby 🥹

Actually yes! Babysitting is a common thing between domestic cats, which is why sometimes cats will put their babies on their favorite humans. This mama cat trusts her dog friend enough to recruit them for babysitting duty.

And the golden retriever no doubt regards them as a beloved extended pack. 😊

I like the mother cat. She seems so gentle, kind and trusting.

I mean Bailey is just about as sweet as they go. There's not a single molecule of violence or malevolence in him. Fantastic dog! 🙂

Labs and Golden Retrievers are usually like that, especially once they get out of their puppy stages. They're pretty hyper when they're between 0-4 years old, but once they've grown up, they're very chill dogs.

my parents got when I was born one and when I asked why she had chosen a retriever she said that it would grow as I did, becoming more relaxed as I did, he died just 2 days after my 18th birthday and I cant say I would ever wish for a better friend to grow up with.
