I'm really new to basketball and have only used the Adidas All Court (with the gold trim) as a kid, and later the Nike KD Full Court (with the silver trim). Can anyone tell me how those perform relative to the popular choices so I can start afresh with a good point of reference?

Maaan come on! The Kyrie 5 is one of my favorite hoop sigs period to hoop in. That particular colorway is my favorite of all the colorways.

I LOVED the G series a lot. I would say that this definitely feels different than the G series but you'll love it just as much.

Picked up the Molten BG3800 in size 5 for my son, as his first basketball. Great looking basketball, especially for the price I paid! I must say, it is not very grippy though, compared to the Wilson NCAA I got for myself.. ;) Thanks for the very informative content, and the recommendation(s)!

Oh yeah that Wilson NCAA is going to be a step or two ahead of the BG3800 as far as quality. But funny enough, I'd bet money that his 3800 will last longer than your NCAA will over time.

Molten series gm7 gL 7 also run a bit smaller its also the case with them . But bg4000 is real size compared to the otheres bg5k too 👍

I have a Molten GR7 I'm playing on an outdoor double rimmed hoop and it has a bulged in some areas. I hope it wasn't a fake I purchased from an official sports outlet. Make sure you guys buy quality and look after it only pump to correct psi, don't kick, or do half court shots specially in cold weather.

What I've seen sometimes is either when you over-inflate the ball, or when there's some sort of internal flaw you get those weird bumps on the ball.

There are a lot of places you can buy the 3800. Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc. I haven't found any other place for the 4500 other than the Molten site itself.

It's really weird, but I was using mine yesterday for two hours and when I picked it up I had to double check to make sure it was a size 7 and not a 6. It feels like a 6.5 but when you play with it you can't really tell the difference. It's still holding up well, and might be one of the only basketballs you can under-inflate and it's still good.

I’ve never used the XG but looking at it and reading about it I’d say that’s the better ball for outdoor use. The replica ball would be better for indoor out of the two 🤟🏾

Nobody makes videos on what the best outdoor basketball is, even online it’s hard to find much. With that being said, what’s the best? The general consensus i’ve found is that it’s either the Spalding Zi/O, Wilson Replica, or the Molten. If anyone knows anything about which is the overall best then let me know!

That's because there is 3x as many outdoor basketballs as there are indoor ones so it would just be too difficult to get through ALL of them. Each brand has at least 5 different outdoor types, so you got close to 20+ different outdoor basketballs. My personal preference is the Wilson Replica, but that's on asphalt and painted concrete. Straight concrete you might want to go Molten GM7x, and I've never used the Spalding Zi/O

The Wilson replica doesn't bounce quite right. Has a very nice grip, it's very resistant to wear but just doesn't bounce like other balls, no matter how much air I've pumped.

A comparison of those three is a little tough because the Forge and Jet are similar but way different than the BG3800. I personally love my 3800 for outdoors.

Both. If I had a personal preference it would be the Molten, but if you live in the United States the Nike ball will get more play.

No, do not use indoor game balls like the Wilson Evo NXT, the new Spalding TF-1000 legacy, Baden Elite, or the Molten BG4500 outside cause the life span will last short.

I'll be honest, I haven't played with a TF 250 outdoors so I'm not sure how it would hold up. Indoors I thought it was ok at best, but brand new it was sticky but dust would collect on it just as fast.

What ball is better: that one bg3800 from your video or wilson forge pro? I will play mostly outdoors.

The Wilson Forge is a good basketball, but I prefer the 3800 over that basketball. Especially if you're going to be outdoors with it.

In Canada this is $50 cheaper than the tf1000, which can be a great outdoor ball, do you think is this close to the tf1000?

It's really based on preference and the court. If it's an asphalt court, I would say the replica all day long. It's going to hold up really well out there because that's a cleaner surface. A concrete court is gonna get dusty, so the Molten would be better for that because even when it's a little dirty it still plays well.

Honestly, outside of the official nba ball I'm not a big fan of spalding basketballs. The TF-1000 is where I stop with Spalding, and a lot of my issue is their basketballs inconsistency in bounce and weights from series to series.

Yeah, but honestly every basketball bounces differently and all Molten basketballs take a little time to get used to. This basketball in particular though feels like it has an extra layer of rubber inside that creates extra bounce, even on the lightest dribble.

Great question. So it looks like some of the Forge Plus balls (all except brown) are made of some sort of softer composite material that would be great for outdoor. The Molten is always going to be a solid outdoor choice regardless, but you might enjoy the feel of the Forge more if you haven't played with a Molten before.

Better than buying an ugly ball that doesn't work! I always ask what kind of surface you'll be playing on because that usually dictates which direction to go as far as basketball. BUT the Molten works great on any surface, so it's a great choice but the Wilson NCAA JetPro is also a good fit.

I was using my 3800 this weekend and loved it. I would still pick the evolution over it but if it were a 4500 that might change my choice.

Great question. I haven't gotten a chance to use the 4500, but the biggest difference is that the 4500 has a composite cover. The 3800 doesn't have that cover.

BG3800 = synthetic cover (Polyurethane most likely) and can be used indoors and outdoors, BG4500 is composite leather and should be used indoors only

I would choose this over the encore, but that's more personal preference. The encore is a great basketball, especially for beginners outdoors but I think the Molten holds up really well.

Great question. The older TF500 wasn't the greatest but it was good enough. I haven't used the new Excel TF500 but it looks like a much softer material, similar to the older Wilson Highlight basketball. My guess is that it's a good basketball.

How does this ball perform on concrete? And does it last?

I think it plays really well on concrete. You'll get at least 1-2 years on concrete with the basketball, but a lot of that depends on how much you play.

I would say that when your hands are dry, the NBA official basketball feels the most slippery IMO. I know what you mean with the 3800, but I've found that once my hands got sweaty the basketball got better.

Personally I think it works both places but it's BETTER outdoors than indoors.

Nah 4500 is the best indoor outdoor 2 levels higher just right below the 5000 real leather but around the same price as 3800

Playing on a hard surface like that can really take a toll on your knees. And that can affect your shooting percentage, especially from the 3pt line.

Does it last long like at least a year

For sure a year. I've used it only a couple of times outdoors, but the material seems to be holding up as well as it did the first time I got it. Keep it mind this was pre-owned when I got it so my guess it's been used a lot.

Hey is the bg 3800 really different than the bg 4000?

Idk a lot about a BG4000 but I know that the 4500 is different from the 3800 mainly because of the top surface.

Yes and no. I found another basketball that is nice outdoors, but I'm still using this basketball outdoors to this day and it's still doing well.

I wanted a Molten and primarily hoop outdoors so this is good news. What's the other ball? I got the King James 4 panel one and it's decent so far. Like the Nike Elite just a little more papery feel. @@Love2Hoop

Great question: The quality of the basketball materials go up as the numbers do. 2000 & 3800 are outdoor basketballs where the 4500 and 5000 are indoor basketballs.

Great question! Honestly I would say it’s pretty similar to how it felt when I first got it but to be honest I haven’t used it a ton yet.

@@air_freak2358 Of all time?? Damn that's pressure, but personally my favorite is the Wilson Highlight. Any indoor/outdoor basketball made of composite leather is a go and that one I still use outside.

The bg3800 is a high quality indoor outdoorball but i use mine for indoors only since its leather but the bg4500 is only a highquality indoor ball only

And honestly, I think it does better outside than it does indoors. The ball is good indoors don't get me wrong but I think it's one of the few that actually can hold up well outdoors too.

That FIBA ball is really the OG Wilson Wave basketball that had mixed reviews when it dropped. A lot of people didn’t really like the ball but the younger demo did so they must have moved it to FIBA 3x3 who adopted it as their own.

Fake Moltens are trash! So absolutely beware when purchasing Molten basketballs specially online.

I just got the 4500 and I LOVE the look of it. I think it's a preference thing honestly, because there are a few basketballs a lot of people like that I just can't seem to get with
